Chapter 15: Elves

Mingyu jumped over tree roots and old tree stubs, somehow managing to keep Jason still on his back.

Jungkook and Taehyung were struggling to keep up with the wolf boy, well if Taehyung wanted he could outrun him but he didn't really know where they were heading.

A small cottage covered in veins and flowers, the windows were slightly foggy, and smoke came up from the chimney on top.

The roof was covered in grass, and a small cat and a dog sat on top of it, staring down on Mingyu as he stopped.

Mingyu stopped in front of the dark wooden door, having his hands full he used his foot to somehow open the door.

Seconds later Jungkook reached up to the door, looking like he just ran a marathon while Taehyung breathed quite normally.

Taehyung side glanced at Jungkook before following Mingyu inside The cottage.

"Jeonghan! Joshua!" Mingyu called out.

A door creaked open "What?" A boy with soft pink hair, pointy ears, his cheeks had small blue and white colored markings on them.

Another boy that kinda looked identical to the first, the difference was his purple and white markings and he had a slightly slimmer face.

Jungkook had now stumbled into the cottage, standing beside Taehyung his eyes on Jason.

The two elves noticed the blood running down Mingyu's arm, both of their eyes traveled further up, following the blood trail.

They invited the small fluff of blonde popping up from behind the taller's shoulder.

They turned to each other and made a mental conversation through their eyes.

"Bring him in here, now." The one with purple and white marks said, opening the door further.

Jungkook noticed how pale Jason looked, his small arms just hung limply at Mingyu's sides.

Jason was laid down on a table in the middle of the small room. The room was filled with shelves full of weird bottles and plants here and there. In the corner was a cauldron, a desk in the other corner.

"Jeonghan hand be the scissors."

Jungkook watched in fear, feeling his heartbeat going all over the place.

Swiftly the one named Jeonghan handed the one Jungkook guessed was named Joshua the scissors.

And carefully as he could Joshua cut Jason's shirt open recalling a deep gash across the small boy's chest.

Jungkook panicked "Will he be okay!? Please tell me!"

Taehyung hugged his lover to somehow make him calm down.

Again, the two elves stared at each other for a few seconds, Jeonghan turned to Jungkook.

"No, by the looks of it and his small body he will not make it. He has lost a lot of blood." Jeonghan saw how drastically Jungkook's expression changed to a crushed one, feeling bad for the human he did a small smile "But, we do have something that can save him."

"What?" Jungkook's voice was barely above a whisper "please use it..."

Joshua turned around to the shelves "But, there is a catch." He turned around with a red glowing bottle "His humanity will be stripped off from him."

Biting his lip and looking on the floor Jungkook had an argument with himself.

After some minutes he looked up again, some tears had fallen from his eyes "Please do it."

The two elves nodded, Joshua took the bottle up to Jason's blue/purple lips and poured the liquid into his mouth.

"This is a mix of royal Elven blood mixed with the blood of a light Spirit," Jeonghan explained.

"He will be okay Jungkook." Taehyung tries comforting Jungkook who is having a mental breakdown and totally freaking out on the inside.

Mingyu watched form a corner in the room.

"While the option does it work we have to go outside of the room." The elves said pushing all of them out of the room.

The next room was messy, books everywhere plants growing here and there, more bottles. On the table, Jungkook noticed an open book.

The page was open on a page with a painted picture of a human-like figure with big black feather bat-like wings, marks all over its skin that was visible, purple glowing eyes. But one thing stood out the most was the really familiar orange hair.

The name of the demon thing was Vætta/Ván (a/n I spent half an hour trying to find a Norse dictionary, which probably doesn't even exist and this word ain't even correct)

"Uhm, a question about this demon, is its name also Hoseok?"

The reaction he got from the elves plus Mingyu was shocked, they all just stared at each other before Joshua started to talk.

"Yes, do you know him is that why you are asking?"

"He used to be my family butler and childhood friend, about I think a month ago he left looking slightly like the picture there."

"Hoseok or Vætta is it's Norse name for Hope (a/n not sure about that) also for its name, the demon of hope. Its name might sound quite unharmful and that he brings hope, well it's quite the opposite, he is one of the rules of hell.

For about 300 years ago he lost control of himself completely, nearly destroying hell, to stop him Satan sent him to Svalbard to put him in the freezing cold water there, the water is so cold Hoseok froze a year later- it usually takes six years for a demon to freeze.

After 278 years of being in the water, Satan sent Hoseok into a dying newborn- not sure how to explain that because I don't know myself.

And you might have noticed that Hoseok often used these scent things, these scents are really important it's what keeps him calm and sane, if he just goes so much a minute over three days since he took one he loses it, to not destroy the world he has to flee to back to Svalbard the water again will keep him calm and hopefully he will be back in a year or so." Joshua took a small break with speaking "Hoseok hopes one day he will be able to control himself." He finished.

Before Jungkook could answer a thud from the room beside them echoed through the cottage making Joshua and Jeonghan speed into the room.

Jungkook was about to stand up but Taehyung grabbed him and made him sit down just as screams of pain came from the room.

"It's okay Jungkook." Taehyung placed his hands over Jungkooks ears to block out the sounds, it wasn't effective but it helped Jungkook to not burst into that room.

Hour later

And whole hour passed and the screaming had died down completely, Mingyu nodded at them signaling that they could now go into the roo.

Jungkook immediately ran over to Jason to hug him, he could feel Jason's heart pounding against his chest.

"Master Jungkook where am I and why do my ears feel weird?" Jason touched the tips of his ears, a confused look on his face "They're pointy."

Jungkook chuckled breaking their hug "You can see later Jason, but answer me truthfully, what were you doing alone in that forest?"

Jason thought for a second "I accidentally made a mess in the kitchen, I spilled Mama's pot of soup that was for Madame Daejung, mama didn't get angry at me but she told me to follow her.

I followed mama and tried to speak with her but she ignored me so I thought she was angry at me since she told me not to be in the kitchen but I did anyway, so mama stopped in front of the forest and told me that we were going to pick berries.

I was happy since mama doesn't really want to do anything with me anymore, we walked into this field and mama told me to wait, I did. She walked away from and then I heard a weird noise from behind me so I turned around and saw this big, big wolf I ran after mama but she also ran, not waiting for me, I fell and called out for mama but she did not stop." Jason looked down at the floor sadly, a few tears threatened to spill from his eyes.

The older people in the room all stared in shock at the young boy, Taehyung stepped closer to him.

"If you don't mind me asking you, did your mama tell you anything?"

Jason wiped his small tears away "No. She just told me to follow her, but she did say something yesterday after I spilled Lady Minsun's tea that if I broke anything more this week she would send me out."

Jungkook was in utter shock that the main chef in the mansion would leave her own son in the middle of a forest.

Jason was known to be extremely clumsy and he did break a lot of things, but he was only six. Jungkook knew that he didn't really have a good relationship with his own mother after Jason's father died, Jungkook often heard Jason's mother scold him and sometimes threaten him.

Suddenly remembering that he needed to thank Mingyu and of course the elves, Jungkook turned to them.

"I need to thank you Mingyu for saving my stupid ass." Jungkook smiled at the wolf boy "And for taking us here so Jason could be healed. AND for you two to help him and if you need anything please contact me and I would help you." He did deep bow to them.

"It's our pleasure." All three of them said.

"Taehyung!"

Just as the three had walked over to Jin's mansion, the vampire had been attacked by a honey brown flash.

"Where in the wide world have you been!" Baekhyun squeezed the living daylights out of his brother "Jin told me you had been gone for a week."

"Baekhyun get off me, I was with Jungkook." Taehyung struggled against Baekhyun's strength to push him off himself, Jungkook had walked further into the mansion looking for Jin or someone who was old enough he could talk too.

Jason had fallen asleep on his back, and Jungkook knew he couldn't bring the boy back home.

"Jungkook you look really lost in thoughts, is everything okay?" A male with cat ears that Jungkook had never seen before came walking out of the kitchen, he could see Jin behind him. The male noticed Jungkook's confused expression "I am Minseok Kim by the way, I know you since Taehyung has often mentioned you."

"Ah hello there."  Jungkook did a small wave at him.

"I guess you want to talk to Jin." Minseok walked back inside the kitchen again and Jin came out, wiping his hands on his apron.

"What can I help you with?" Jin questioned, leaning on the door frame.

Jungkook sighed "Something happened today, I can't bring him back home-" he motioned towards Jason "I need someone to care of him."

"Jungkook," Jin began, pushing his hair back "I can not take care of him, neither can the rest in this house."

The human's expression changed into a distressed one "I can't send him to an orphanage either, there he would get killed."  Jungkook tried to keep his voice calm so he wouldn't wake the boy up.

"I'm terribly sorry Jungkook, I don't have time." Jin apologized "I don't know what to do either to help you."

"Master Jungkook what is going on? Are we home?" Jason's tired voice made Jungkook panic, he hadn't practiced how to tell Jason what was going on, but he knew he had to do it.

With a heavy sigh, Jungkook put Jason down he looked into right into his eyes "Jason listen carefully to what I have to say, I can't bring you back, sadly your mama don't want you anymore that is why she left you, neither can I bring you to the orphanage where they can take care of you because they will probably kill you-" Jason cut Jungkook off by putting his small hands up to his cheeks and wiped away some tears.

"Don't cry, I understand, I might be young but I understand a lot." Jason smiled, but Jungkook could see the hurt and sadness in the younger's eyes "I knew my mama didn't love me like she did before Papa died, and I can live in the forest."

Jungkook couldn't help it, the tears continued to come and he hugged the boy close to him muttering sorry over and over again, Jungkook felt someone poke his shoulder and he turned through the tears he could see the blurred vision of Minseok's face.

"I am sorry, I didn't mean to listen to your conversation." Minseok crouched down to both of their levels "Me and Jongdae have wished to get a child, but with these on my head-" Minseok pointed at his ears "It's really hard." He smiled sadly.

 "So what you're saying," Jungkook wiped away his tears, Jason still in his arms.

Minseok nodded "If he would like it, I can take him with me." The cat boy had expected the boy to deny since a lot of other children who had noticed his ears would often run away from him since parents had told them that people like him would eat them up.

Instead, Jason lifted his head to look at Minseok, his head tilted slightly to the side "You will?" Minseok nodded making Jason smile, he might not know Minseok but knowing that someone would take him made him overjoyed "Yay!" He got out from Jungkook's arms and jumped into Minseok's.

"Thank you Minseok."

Minseok gave Jungkook a big smile and hugged the small boy back.
