Chapter Twenty-two

"With the way you mages responded, one might think you were waiting for our call" the representative of the witches' council said looking up from the file she was reading.

"We knew you'd call so why not be ready?" One of the mages said.

"The council has come to a decision" the woman stated looking at the mage square in the eyes, "A few of our witches and warlocks will accompany you to the so-called fight."

"We knew the council would succumb" the mage said grinning crookedly.

"I hope you don't think we are trying to help you mages. This battle is also for the good of this coven so don't have any high hopes" the woman said curtly and returned to the file she was reading. The mages were about to leave but they paused.

"Is that witch coming? The said chosen one, is she coming?" The mage suddenly asked, "She would be of great help to us, to the coven of course" he added. The woman gripped the file she was holding before smiling up at them.

"It's up to the council to choose who would go and who would not. I don't think you have any business with that" she replied.

"Yet another powerful witch locked away" the mage said shaking his head. "The council is even stingy to themselves. Depriving the coven of.."

"You should leave now or the consequence will be brutal" the woman warned still keeping a blank expression. The mage smirked before apparating with the others.

The representative appeared right in front of Scarlett as the she was about to leave her room. Scarlett stumbled backwards in shock before scowling.

"Why do you keep visiting me? Do you like me that much?" Scarlett spat angrily but the woman looked unfazed.

"I hope you are not planning to help those witch hunters, Scarlett" she simply said. Scarlett threw her hands up in frustration before glaring at the woman.

"Tell me one reason, if not for your prestigious image, why I shouldn't help them?" Scarlett asked and the woman kept quiet, "I thought as much" she said about to side step the woman.

"The council wouldn't -" she started.

"Screw the council, I don't belong to your coven" Scarlett said before leaving the room. The woman balled her fist in anger making everything made of glass in the room break in pieces.

"Less than two days to the attack and everything is too normal. It's as if we are missing something" Camilla spoke up breaking the silence in their table. They all sat silently in the cafeteria, each person's mind filled with thoughts.

"You're right. Heck we don't even know who the traitor is and we have a big battle" V said stabbing her fries with her fork.

"Even the mages are being too normal, no sign of preparing for anything. I mean that's what we want right?" Scarlett added and Sean groaned.

"I can't believe we are going through with this" Sean said pushing his tray away.

"Maybe what we all need is rest. We should rest and prepare for the big battle" Micheal said trying to lighten the mood but all he got was sighs.

Sean walked into the cafe nervously. He didn't want to come there because Scarlett wasn't around and she wasn't the one he came to see.

"She's not around" he heard someone say and he looked at the counter only to see Min Ho in an apron and a bunch of teenage girls fawning over him.

"Yeah, I.. I know. I came to see you" Sean said awkwardly. Min Ho smirked before flinging the apron off his body.

"Come upstairs" Min Ho said walking towards the back, a girl was about to follow him when he stopped her. "Not you princess" he said and the girl almost fainted.

"Did you hear that?! He called me princess!" She squealed to her friends who looked at her with envy. Sean side stepped the squealing girls and followed Min Ho.

"I make a lot of money for my old man, yet he doesn't appreciate it" Min Ho said opening the door of a room. The room was empty and only had swords hanging on the wall. "Welcome to the training room"  he announced, "which is also my room at night" he muttered the remaining part. "Can you use a sword?" Min Ho asked snapping Sean out of his thoughts.

"Uh.. yeah. Leant a couple of tricks" Sean replied.

"Here you go" Min Ho said throwing a sword at Sean. Sean started swinging the sword around and the sword suddenly slipped from his hand and landed right beside Min Ho's foot. "Oh ok. Calm down a little." He said handing Sean back the sword. He took another sword from the wall. "You should be one with the sword. Let the sword be an extension of your hand, a sharper extension" he said swinging the sword in front of him, taking the sword behind him still in motion.

"That's smooth" Sean said in amazement.

"Try it" Min Ho said and Sean nodded stiffly before swinging the sword. He did it a few times before smiling and swinging the sword easily. "Good, now turn around and cut through air" he added and Sean feeling the rush of energy did exactly as he was told.

After an hour of intense practice, Sean was exhausted and was panting on the floor with sweat all over his body.

"We are done for today"Min Ho said looking at the sweaty boy.

"Is there any other thing I should know?" Sean asked sitting up.

"Well, I could teach you how to wield a witch's sword but that would be of no use to you" Min Ho said.  "Just for knowledge sake, stand up" he said and Sean stood up. "When wielding a witch's sword, you will feel a rush of energy, excessive power. Do not be consumed by that power instead you redirect the power to your sword and fight" he said. "It's not like you'll need this lesson anyway, you'll probably be fried within a few seconds of holding the sword." He added and Sean scoffed at this words. "I have to go downstairs now. You can practice more or go home, your choice" Min Ho said before hanging his sword on the wall and leaving before Sean could even say thanks.

Camilla laid down face flat on her bed. She groaned before turning and kicking her legs in the air.

"Woah, slow down there" she heard someone say and she sat up immediately.

"Oh mum" she said as her mother sat down at the edge of the bed.

"Are you ok dear?" Her mother asked and Camilla sighed. How she wished she could tell her mother everything but where exactly would she start.

"No mum" she replied laying down on her bed.

"Wanna share?"her mother asked and she shook her head.

"Maybe later" she replied and her mother nodded.

"Everything is going to be fine just trust your instincts maybe your instincts would save the day" her mother said and Camilla sat up and crawled towards her mother before hugging her.

"Thanks mum" she mumbled and her mum laughed and patted her back.

"I made brownies. Come downstairs when you are ready" her mum said as soon as they broke their hug. Camilla smiled widely at the mention of brownies.

"I'll be down in a sec" she replied. She was about to follow her mother out of the room when she sighted 'Mysteries of Mystic Hollows', the book she borrowed from Uncle Russell's shelf. "Trust my instincts" she muttered to herself before closing the door behind her mother. She picked the book and opened the book index.

"What the -?" She whispered when she spotted a strange chapter 'The Bait of the Blood Mages'.
