Chapter Four

Camilla heard footsteps coming closer to the bathroom she was in. She tip-toed behind the door and she was left with silence and her rapid breathing. Her heart raced more than she has ever done in gym class. She saw the door knob twist. This is it, my secret is finally out, she thought.

"Mom!", She heard the clone call out. "I think I heard the doorbell." The clone added quickly.

"Oh goodness, your father is probably back." Her mother said finally releasing the door knob and Camilla released the breath she was holding. She heard her room door close and she peeked out of the bathroom.

"That was close, thanks." She said to her clone who was also relieved. She reabsorbed the clone and headed to the shower. Keeping a secret was hard, especially if you were keeping it from someone close.

Sean drove behind his cousins through the open gates of the mayor's house. The mayor's compound was the largest compound in the entire town and the people in the town wondered if he had a farm behind those tall walls that contributed to his fat.

"Quit gawking at the compound and lets go." V said knocking on the window of her cousin's car. Sean was no longer staring at the large land mass but at the number of people present there. Many of them were training and others were just exercising. Sean came out of the car and was escorted to the training field by his cousins.

"There you are!", The sheriff exclaimed looking at the kids. Franklin, Sean's father, was seated on a wheelchair looking at the people training. "Let's get to business, shall we? Welcome fully to the family Sean." The sheriff said patting Sean on his shoulder.

"Thank you sir." Sean responded. He saw a girl pin a man twice her size to the floor and he wondered what they actually taught the people here.

"Everyone here are witch hunters. Today, you are going to start your full training to become a skilled one like the others." The sheriff said and Sean nodded even though he doubted that he could successfully land a punch on anybody here. "We'll start with physical combat. The very beginning." He said cracking his knuckles.

"You don't have to." Frank said, "I've taught him everything he should know" he added referring to the days he spent teaching Sean combat skills. Even though he was not always there for his son, the days he was around was spent teaching his son.

"That's even better. I completely forgot that he was the same guy that broke your curse single handedly" the sheriff said making Sean chuckle nervously. In order to hide Scarlett's secret, he made up a ton of believable lies and told his father. So now, everyone thinks he's a superhero. " Micheal, go and get the cart." The sheriff said. Micheal entered the shed attached to the house and came out with a cart full of so many weapons. "Pick one, any one at all." The sheriff said to Sean.

Sean's gaze was fixed in the cart with sharp weapons. He picked the first one that caught his eye: a bow and arrow. He tried to balance it on his hand. He has had so many dreams where he handled a bow so this shouldn't be hard, right?

He shot the arrow earning a screech from V. "Jesus! Are you blind?!" She yelled. If not for her fast reflexes, she would've been dead by now as the arrow headed straight to her chest.

Sean stood there like a deer in headlights and slowly dropped the bow on the cart. He was definitely not using that again.

"You can choose another one. One that is less shooty." His uncle said and Sean went through the cart again before landing on the one: a sword. The silver sword was gleaming under the sun and the handle which was black made Sean loved it even more. He picked the knife and spun it around, it was perfect.

"That's great. I also use a sword, it'll be easier for me to teach you a couple of sword techniques." His uncle said happily. Frank looked at his son with pride, if only Eva was here to see this, he thought. His wife's departure came as a heavy blow in his chest. His one and only, the only woman that fully understood him was gone.

"Let's go to the training hall, shall we?" The sheriff said walking into the building. Sean was about to follow him when he saw a boy, probably his age or older, furiously punching a tree. His swift punches made it obvious that he was a professional.

"Who's that guy?" He asked. V looked at the person he was asking about and smirked.

"Zayn Ryder. He is the grandson of one of the founding families. They said his father died of cancer abroad so he's replacing him here." V replied looking back at her phone.

"Sean! Hurry up!" He heard his uncle call out and he rushed inside the building.

It was Tuesday and Micheal made it his priority to go to the dean's office first thing that morning. He was finally going to replace freaking history class with literature for two reasons: one, he wanted to be closer to Camilla and two, if he was lucky enough, he'd be put in the same group as Camilla for the assignment.

After the dean gave him his transfer slip, Micheal happily jogged to his literature class.

Literature class was not boring as expected. In fact, it was lively. That was what made it Camilla's favourite class but the downside was that a certain brown haired boy who got straight A's alongside her, was in that class.

Jordan sat comfortably at the middle row oblivious to the glares Camilla shot him at intervals. Look at him being all innocent, she thought. She could not believe that he could actually get A's while being on the football team.

The door of the class swung open revealing a happy looking Micheal. He handed the teacher his slip and took a seat beside Camilla.

"I didn't know you were in this class." She whispered and he smiled at her.

"I just transferred." He replied. Before she could ask him his reason, the teacher cleared her throat gaining the attention of the entire class.

"As you all know, you'll be grouped in twos for an assignment which will take up fifty percent of your average score so be serious about it." She said and the class replied with a groan. The teacher started calling out names of students that were grouped by picking out papers from a big container on her table. Micheal couldn't help but keep his fingers crossed.

"Micheal Finn and Diana Morgan" the teacher called out making Micheal's face fall. Who the heck is Diana? He thought. His question was answered when he felt a tap on his shoulder. A girl who had obviously dyed her hair blonde and put on tons of make-up was batting her lashes at him making him shudder in response.

"Sean Stewart and Scarlett Kim" the teacher said. Sean and Scarlett who sat in front of Camilla gave themselves high-fives. Micheal looked at them in envy and back at his partner who was still batting her lashes at him.

"Camilla Jones and Jordan Stone", the teacher called out. Camilla froze in her seat and looked at the teacher like she has grown two heads. She looked at Jordan who was blankly staring at the teacher. She couldn't believe she was working with that guy.

"Your assignment is to write a detailed plot analysis of the book 'wuthering heights'. I'm pretty sure all of you would want to do the assignment with your partner unless you want to do the whole analysis on your own." The teacher said ruining the plan Micheal had already cooked up in his head.

Class ended and Micheal kept on whining about how it was such a waste switching classes. Camilla decided to be bold and walked up to her new partner.

"Um.. hi" she said gaining his attention. Jordan looked down at her in confusion. Curse my height, she thought as she stepped back so she wouldn't look up at him.

"How can I help you?" Jordan asked. Camilla held herself from rolling her eyes and instead forced out a polite smile.

"I'm your partner for the assignment and I was wondering if you and I could adjust our schedules to do the assignment." She said and Jordan leaned against the wall behind him.

"Oh you are the Catherine?" He asked and Camilla tried her best to avoid snapping at him.

"It's Camilla" she corrected but the stupid chocolate skinned boy nodded absentmindedly.

"Why don't you write on the first few chapters and I do the rest-" Camilla was about to cut him off but he continued, "- or I'll write the entire assignment and you do nothing." Jordan said easily, he didn't want to waste his precious time on a group project with someone. He was better off alone.

" Then how do I defend the assignment?" Camilla asked knowing that the literature teacher was going to to ask questions based on the assignment. Jordan just shrugged lazily putting his hands in his pocket. " Looks like I've wasted my time. When you are ready to talk about the project, you can meet me." She said through clenched teeth before walking away. Stupid boy, stupid project.
