Camilla's POV
After Scarlett left the house

   "Scarlett!" I called out running after her.

   "What's going on?" Sean asked following me.

   "I'll explain everything later but right now we need to follow Scarlett" I said running downstairs stooping a little to take a deep breath, I really need to exercise.

   "Hey!, Curly hair!" I looked upstairs only to see Azura holding the book of hex. I was confused for a second before realizing she was calling me. "I can't break the curse today, there's this movie I want to watch and I can't do that while breaking a curse". I thought about it for a second, I'll probably be at Scarlett's for a long time...

   "Ok, tomorrow then" I said running out of the front door. I saw Sean in the driver's seat and I was about to open the door when my phone vibrated. I took it out from my pocket and saw a message from uncle Russell, he went to the hospital, better, I thought. I don't have to explain anything to him today.

   "Camilla, are we going or not?" Sean said cutting me off my thoughts. I entered the car immediately and fastened my seat belt.

   "Let's go" I said looking at Sean and he looked at me in confusion.

   "Her address?, Where does she live?" He asked me.

   "I thought you knew it. You brought her over today right?" I asked him and he sighed.

   "I brought her here after her shift at the cafe not from her house" he said and I sunk back in my seat.

  "How can I be a good friend when I don't know where Scarlett lives?" I asked myself in a low tone.

   "How can I be a good boyfriend when I don't know where she lives?" I heard Sean mutter.

   "What?!" I asked immediately turning towards him so fast that I almost snapped my neck. Sean looked at me with wide eyes and started coughing.

  "Nothing, let's go to the cafe first, shall we?" He said driving out, silly kid.

  We rushed inside the cafe not minding the closed sign in front. We saw a girl cleaning a table and we walked up to her.

  "Sorry we are closed for now. Come back by seven, thank you" the girl said in a bored voice not even looking up.

   "We need to.." I started but she cut me off.

   "I said sorry..." She looked up and saw Sean immediately, "oh hi, what can I get you?" She asked twirling her hair that was in a pony tail with her finger.

   "Uh.. I don't need anything" Sean said and the girl who's name tag said 'Ashely' started giggling, why is she laughing?, Wait.. am I invisible?. 

   "You don't want a drink?" She asked batting her eyes. Ok, that's it.

   "Look, we didn't come here to watch you embarrass yourself. We just need to meet your boss" I said annoyed and Ashley glared at me.

  "He's not around. You.." she said pointing at me, "can come back by seven" and she turned back to Sean, "so.. you don't want a drink. My shift ends at seven thirty, do you mind waiting for me?"

   "As she said we really need to see your boss, it's an emergency. Can you give us his address or something?" Sean asked and Ashley sighed.

   "I'll call him" she said sashaying to the counter. "Mr Kim, there are two teens looking for you. Yes, they said they want to meet you.."

   "Scarlett to be precise" I added and Ashley rolled her eyes.

   "They're looking for Scarlett... They look around her age... Ok, fine" Ashley hung up the phone with an irritated sigh. "The stairs are at the back, they stay on the first floor" she said in the first bored tone she used when we entered.

   "Thanks" Sean said and Ashley started smiling again.

   "If you need help with any other thing, here's my number.." Ashely started.

   "I don't think we'll need your help again, thanks though" I said dragging Sean towards the back of the cafe. Ashley was giving me a very deathly glare and I just sticked my tongue out at her, feelings mutual.

Back to present

   "Do you know who this Derek is?" Sean asked Scarlett and she shook her head.

  "There is every possibility that Derek killed your mum" I said and Scarlett nodded.

  "This book.. there is something we're missing" Scarlett said looking at her mum's book, the part we read was the last entry nothing else, "it's like we're not seeing something"

   "If only we could deglamorize it like Azura.." Sean sighed and I nodded, it'd be much easier that way.

   " Ow!" Scarlett exclaimed and I looked in her direction only to realize she has paper cut, she probably got it when she was turning the pages. Her blood dropped on an empty page of the diary and letters started becoming visible on the page, "she used a cloaking spell" Scarlett whispered completely forgetting she has a cut.

   "Is this Derek's plan?" Sean asked looking into the book and Scarlett nodded.

  "Derek is a monster. He wants to absorb my child's power, the power of the masulsa. He wants to take the entire power and end the council of Elders. I can't let him do that, my child's life is at stake.
He wants to absorb my daughter's magic and use the machine to multiply himself then absorb the power of his clones. If he succeeds, he'll be unstoppable. Even the human race is at stake. I need to stop him."

   "Oh my God!" I exclaimed, "the machine is at uncle Russell's house. This Derek guy can easily get it and everyone's life will be on the line. We need to stop him"

   "Or.." Sean started, "we can take this book to the council of Elders and they'll take care of it while we mind our business" he said and I glared at him.

   "Sean that won't work, look" Scarlett said pointing at a page.

  "I can't inform the council of Elders, that bastard has men everywhere even in the smallest places. I need to do this alone, I need to stop him.."

   "We can't tell them 'cause if we do and something goes wrong then my mum's death would be for nothing" Scarlett said and Sean nodded.

   "What's this ' masulsa ' ?" I asked and Scarlett shrugged.

   "Grandma will know. I can summon her with the spell Azura used" Scarlett said taking a deep breath, "ego invocada spiritus Kim Yeong-joo, videtur" and nothing happened.

   "Is it invocada or invocado?" I asked and she gasped.

   "Ego invocado spiritus Kim Yeong-joo, videtur" she corrected and her grandmother appeared immediately.

   "Scarlett, look I'll explain..." Her grandma started but Scarlett shook her head.

   "Don't worry about that" she said, "what's a masulsa?". Her grandma sighed and took a seat on the wooden chair by the door.

  " In every five generations, one mage has the ability to wield the power of a thousand witches. My great grandma was the last masulsa and now, you are the next. That's why your mother risked all she had to pass her magic to you. Just like how I passed mine to her when she turned eighteen, she had to pass hers to you earlier because..." She stopped but we understood what she was trying to say.

   "What's the difference between a masulsa and a mage?" Sean asked.

   "It's only the masulsa that can harness the power of a thousand witches, she's the only one that can perform the greatest magic in history" my mind was blown already and Scarlett's grandma wasn't done yet, " A masulsa can ascertain a person's past just by touching what belongs to that person and most importantly, she has the ability to take people's power"

   "If your great grandma was the last masulsa then shouldn't it be called the power of a thousand and five witches?" Sean asked, surprisingly, smartly.

   "It has been a long time since my ancestors started counting so the name was summed up to the power of a thousand witches" grandma Yeong-joo explained.

   "Oh, so Scarlett can possess more than a thousand witches power?" Sean asked again and Scarlett's grandma nodded.

   "Wait a minute, if taking people's power is just for masulsas then why does Derek need my power when he's not the masulsa?" Scarlett asked and her grandma sighed.

   "No one knows what that warlock is planning. That's why you kids have to stay out of it" grandma Yeong-joo said and Sean nodded in agreement.

   "How can we do nothing when Scarlett, your grand daughter by the way, and possibly the whole world is in danger?" I asked exasperatedly.

   "The council of Elders will take care of it. So you kids have nothing to be afraid of." The grandma said, "I need to go now. Remember stay out of it" and she disappeared.

   "So.. are we staying out of it?" Scarlett asked

   "Do you want to stay out of it?" I retorted.

   "No" she replied and I nodded.

   "Then it is done"
