Chapter 38 - EVERYTHING
Tatiana Grant
I'm not in the mood to talk to Kayden after what happened earlier at dawn. The fact that he wanted to see his phone after I told him Vanya was looking at him was unforgivable. Kayden kept trying to talk to me since this morning, but I ignored him for good.
"Are you going to act like this when we see your parents?" Kayden asked, and I turned to him.
"Yes." I glared at him.
We're currently on our way to the palace to see my parents. I'm going to drop the news about us already married. I don't know how my family will react after meeting Kayden.
Gabriel warned me about his past, and now I know about it, I can defend him in front of my family.
When we were driving into the palace, my heart beat so fast. I don't know why. I'm starting to get nervous about Kayden meeting my family. I don't know how they will react to this.
The car stopped right before the entrance and when we got out. Suddenly, guards were pointing their guns at Kayden, who ended up looking at them, bored. I turned to Carlo, who was busy talking to one of the guards.
"Carlo," I called him.
"Yes, Your Highness." He ran towards me.
"Tell the guards not to point their guns at my husband." Carlo dismissed them instantly, and Kayden turned to me, smirking. I rolled my eyes at him and proceeded to walk to his side. I grabbed his hand and walked into the palace.
"I thought you were going to ignore me."
"Shut up," I whispered and smiled when I saw my mother. She was already waiting for me, and I ran towards her, giving her a big hug.
"How are you, darling?" My mother pulled away and cupped my face, "I've missed you."
"I miss you too, Mother."
"No, you're not. You rarely text or call me." She held my hand, and then her attention turned to Kayden. Her eyes changed, and she was nervous.
"Mother, this is my husband, Kayden Grant. Babe, this is my mother, the beautiful Tamara Clifford." I introduced them both.
"Your Highness, nice meeting you." Kayden greeted her politely. He put his hand out, and he took it.
"Did you say that he's your husband? You got married already?" I grabbed Kayden's arm and turned to him.
"Yes."
"Oh, my lord." She turned around and walked towards the living room. I turned to Kayden, and he didn't give any reaction. I led him to the living room, where Gloria and Gabriel were waiting for me.
I gave both of them a hug and introduced them to Kayden.
"This is my husband, Kayden. Babe, this is the twins, Gloria and Gabriel." Kayden put his hand out, but none of the twins wanted to shake hands with him. Kayden smiled at them, but his eyes were saying different things.
"Husband?" Gloria asked, and I nodded.
"We got married last week." Two days ago.
"Did he threaten you?" Gabriel asked.
"No." Yes, he tricked me. "Why would he do that? I love him." Kayden's body stiffened beside me, and I dug my nails into him.
"Tatiana, let's have lunch together. Your father is waiting for you." My mother said, and I pulled Kayden with me to the dining room. When I saw my father, I ran to him and hugged him.
"Father!" I squealed, and he got up from his seat to hug me.
"I've missed you." He smiled, and I nodded.
"Me too, Father." His eyes landed on Kayden, and his green eyes became darker. He hates Kayden, and I don't blame him, especially knowing his reputation.
"Your Highness."
"Father, this is Kayden. We got married last week." I smiled widely, and my father's face fell. His eyes were set on Kayden, and Kayden looked at him with challenging eyes.
"You got married last week?" My father repeated without looking at me.
"Did he force you into it?" I was about to answer it, but Kayden replied to it first.
"I did," Kayden said casually.
"What did you just say?" My father asked. His green eyes were burning in anger.
"I tricked her into signing her marriage certificate." Oh my god!
"Babe, you're not a comedian." I chuckled, trying to cool everything down, but Kayden never budged.
"You're such an idiot, Tatiana. This is why we never wanted you to be a doctor. You don't even have a brain, to begin with, and I've told you about hi-" Kayden turned to Gabriel like he wanted to murder him. Gabriel shut his mouth right away.
"You can say bad things about me, but if you say shit about my wife. I'll cut your throat into pieces." He did not just say that in front of my whole family. "If you know my bad reputation so well, you should control your fucking mouth."
"Kayden," I whispered.
"We knew about the Cullinan shares," Gloria said, and Kayden turned to her, causing her to step back.
"And you should know I returned it to my wife. Not only do I give her back the shares, but I also put her name on every property that I have. We're married, so what's mine is also hers." Oh, my lord.
"You kill people for a living, and you even hurt your own family." My mother said, and Kayden turned to my father.
"They were never my family. I was disowned by them ever since I was born. Why should I treat them like family?" Kayden looked straight at my father.
"You think highly of yourself, don't you? Do you think you're so powerful because you're part of a criminal organization?" Gabriel walked towards him and stood in front of my father, face-to-face with Kayden. He then turned to me, looking down at me mockingly.
"If you don't get a divorce soon, we will disown you. You can return to America with this bastard and be his slut." He said, and Kayden grabbed his neck, choking him. Every guard in the room has their guns pointing at Kayden.
"Kayden..." I begged, trying to pull him away. My father was so amused with the scene that he decided not to interrupt.
"Since you called my wife with the word that I fucking hate, I will gladly tell your family what you did behind them, Gabriel Clifford," Kayden smirked as he tightened the grip on his neck, cutting his airways.
"You've been fucking Amber, your twin's best friend. You've been screwing her when you excused yourself from your father to study. She's been pregnant for two years with your child, and you asked her to abort it. At the end of last year, she was pregnant again, but she decided to run away from you because you were planning to tell her to abort the baby again. Guess what? You've been looking for her. That's why you've been going back and forth to Italy with a lame excuse of making a fucking charity when you're busy looking for her." Kayden pushed him until Gabriel fell to the ground, coughing.
"The baby was born two months ago, and she's going to marry a nice man who accepts her for she is." Kayden squatted down, but my eyes landed on my father, who already had his eyes on my brother.
"If you dare to call my wife names again, I will fucking kill you in front of the nation. I'll give your family free tickets to enter."
"Kayden," I called him, and he stood beside me. He turned to my father and put his arm around my shoulder.
"Your daughter is a smart woman, and she will become one of the best doctors out there. If you don't support her, I will be the one who supports her until my last breath. Proceed with her abdication immediately so she can freely chase her dreams." I wanted to cry so badly.
"I love her, and I'm willing to give her everything she wants. If she wants to surrender her title, I'll ensure she gets it. If she wants to be a doctor, I'll let her study. If she wants the fucking moon, I'll get it for her with no questions asked. If she asks me to be a doctor, I'll gladly leave the business world to be a doctor. Mistreat her, and I'll make sure you'll never see her again and give every one of you the biggest downfall you'll ever get." I cried.
"No one gets to hurt Tatiana, not even me. I won't be able to forgive myself ever again if I hurt her again."
