It has been a year since the Clash in the Cavern was fought near Irien's northern border. Damon's body is yet to be seen or found; suspicious of his absence, the Guild has sent scouts to search for him. Meanwhile, a period of peace graces the realm.

During this time, Edin has grown to become one of the most valuable guardians. He soon gets promoted to sentry after serving as a cadet at Irien. Despite his unwavering loyalty, his obscure past and previous bursts of bloodlust have drawn concern among fellow guardians. Though Edin and Arden have made little progress in recovering his memories, she is certain that he will regain them soon.
