Hello my wonderful readers! I figured since we all read a POV on Duncan, I should do the same for Cyan. So here it is! I hope you all Enjoy.
Cyan's point of view.
I saw the way she walked, her fingers intertwined with Duncan's. As she turned her head from side to side, to capture the views before her, her red hair caught the early morning light. It fell about her pale skin, so striking and beautiful. Her smile came from deep inside, lighting her eyes while the sun brightened her perfectly aligned teeth.
I in the other hand, was walking slow. I had the effect of making myself stand out in a crowd and this was not one of those days I wanted any attention from the people. My mind focused on my own steps, to avoid any unwanted eye contact.
I could of sworn she would of accepted my proposal. When I saw her walk away from me, my heartache was like an insatiable fire that burnt all the oxygen in my body leaving me enervated and empty. Did I push her towards Duncan with my mix signals? I regretted leaving her to question my feelings towards her that day on the roof top. The day I spoked to Darla about our engagement.
"Cyan. Baby". Darla said as she planted a kiss on my lips. "What were you doing with that ratchet slutty girl?".
She bawled on about Jax and Sienna's nonconsensual relationship. Every word she spoked only fueled the fire that burned inside of me. The burning rage hissed through my body like deathly poison. I can't believe I ever felt anything for her.
"We need to talk".
"What is it darling?" She asked as she tried to hold my hand while searching my eyes for the answer. Feeling the coldness that build around my fingers, I pulled my hand away from her grip. Instead I gripped unto her arm and pulled her along with me.
"Ouch! What the fuck Cyan. That hurts".
Ignoring her whine for me to release my grip on her, I took us to a corner to talk. She leaned against the wall and I rested a hand on the wall above her. I sighed looking down at her. Her eyes were the color of a clear blue sky. The twinkle in her eyes might had confused you with someone who cared and loved too deeply but I knew her too well to believe that. Yet They were stunning despite of it all.
She wore heavy eyeliner, Her almost white blonde hair draped down, soft curls along the ends. She could of easily been mistaken for my kind.
"Is this your way of trying to seduce me to have sex with you in this dark corner? Because it's kinda turning me on and I'm so ready" she added after a second of me remembering the many centuries at her side. A total waste.
"No" I simply said.
She waited for me to tell her and so I did. " I don't want to marry you anymore. It's over between us Darla. You and your brother have ruined my life and I will not permit it to continue any further".
She hadn't seen it coming. She never thought I would leave her. She was shocked. Her eyes shined with the tears that had yet to fall but they didn't.The icy blueness of her eyes generated into a lake of frozen emotions.
Darla blurted out in pure outrage. "You'll regret this Cyan! You would pay for this. I should of let Jax killed you the moment he had the chance!".
I turned around, ready to walk away, before I knew it she had fallen on her knees, clutching to my jeans. "Cyan please don't leave me! I love you. I'll do anything. I'll change" she begged. I gritted my teeth as I shook her off like a some pest.
"We both know you have said that before with no results".
I finally had the courage to walk away from her and I did.
I was pulled back into reality by Sienna's enthusiastic tone of voice that called out to me. "Cyan!".
I looked up to meet her gaze. "We are almost there!" She squealed with the most cheerful smile I've ever seen. Holding to Duncan's hand, she dragged him on while I stood behind.
The realization that I had lost her for good pained me deeply. I just wish Sienna knew how I truly felt before she decided to choose Duncan.
We finally made it to the house. It was a two stories high, faded and discolored house. It was a very old house, you could have already told from its design.
An odd feeling washed over me. Something was not right.
"Does your mom always leave the front door cracked open?" Duncan asked as he pointed towards the door.
"Ugh- no. It was probably my brother who left it open. He can be so careless sometimes" Sienna replied, shrugging off the uneasy feeling that crept over her.
The curtains in front of the window suddenly shifted in the wind. Duncan and I gave each other quick glances.
Sienna smiled a little. "They must be inside right?". The smile of a child who is determined not to weep.
"Sienna wait here while Duncan and I check out the house first" I said, taking a step forward, placing a hand infront of Sienna. Hoping to keep her from going in.
"That's my family in there! I'm going in" she stated before pushing my hand away and running up the porch steps.
"Sienna stop!" Duncan and I hollered.
We ran up to the little white porch just as Sienna was pushing the door wide open.
She gasped as she took a step in. Dining chairs and kitchen tables were flipped. Cabinets opened with food tossed all over the place. Picture frames completely shattered.
"Mom, Kaden!" She called as her solemn tone of voice echoed through out the house.
I slowly followed her in, looking over my shoulder to see Duncan at the entrance, frozen in spot. His fist clutching at his sides as he stared passed me in a trance of thoughts.
"Dun-" I stopped myself from calling out to him. "Idiot", I mumbled under my breath as I accompanied Sienna into the living room.
Dust lay over every surface like dirty snow. The light streamed through the gaps in the heavy muave curtains. There was scattered cushions all over the floor. The floral lamp and coffee table was smashed to pieces. The whole house was entirely destroyed.
There was an absolute silence.
Sienna willed her eyes to remain dry and her mind focused.
"I'm going to check upstairs" she spoked as she advanced her way up the creaky stairs.
I took a minute before going up after her. Checking every room before finding Sienna in her own room. I leaned against the door. In the fragments of the broken mirror, I watched her stare at her reflection. Her room was also wrecked.
"They're not here" she said after a minute of stillness. She turned around, tears streaming down her cheeks as she repeated once again, "they're not here".
I met her half way through the room before she pressed herself against me.
She sobbed into my chest unhalted, hands clutching at my white jacket.
Her heartache was tearing it's way to my trembling heart. The small connection we had, tugged at each other through the pain. To find some comfort within each other.
I held her in my arms, like the first day when she panicked over the urges for blood. My mind calling back to that memory. I slowly pulled her away from me, gazing down at her. Sienna blinked, lashes heavy with tears. I tugged a strand of hair away from her face, cupping her chin to look up at me. Every sense in my body wanted to kiss her soft pink lips. I stared at them. The top lip had a natural cupid bow while the bottom was lushed. I wanted to feel her lips against mines.
Gently pushing the rest of the hair away from her face, I held her face in my hands. Her breathing became soft, then the forlorn look melted into a serene smile.
I needed, I wanted the bond that we had to surface once more and so I pressed my lips against hers. Our connection continued to pull at each other more urgently. Then, the door that had closed, opened again. Every strong feeling, every nerve in our bodies became in sync once again.
The worries of the day evaporated as her hands traveled around my physics. My hands feeling her waist; I pulled her closer.
My mind raced to places it shouldn't and hers did too. The thoughts went into a sensual state of intoxication that brought my powers to writhed up around my legs, making its way around my torso. My mind begged me to stop, knowing what could happen if I continued. But the feeling was too overwhelming and irresistible that I couldn't pull away.
With a good force, Sienna thrust me backwards. She pressed her hand against her lips as her eyes widen. Realizing what she had done.
"Cyan- I - I'm with Duncan. You can't just go and kiss me when ever you feel like it". Her cheeks still blushing hotly.
Her voice reverberated in my ears as the room around me enhanced into a state of slow motion.
Don't ever do that again", she affirmed before sheepishly walking out the room.
I stood there, clutching to my pants while shutting my eyes. My heart battered in my chest. I took deep breaths in, slowly calming the ice loops that were forming around my body until they had completely disappeared.
I waited till I was completely stabled enough before going back downstairs and joining Duncan and Sienna again.
I plodded into the living room to see Duncan caressing Sienna's cheek. Their eyes passionately looking at each other.
"I will follow you into hell if that's what it takes to keep you and your family safe", Duncan told her, pressing his lips against her forehead.
Sienna gently smiled as she held his hand in hers.
I looked away, clearing my throat. "Alright lovebirds we must get going".
Sienna shifted her body towards me, in uttermost confusion. "Get going? I'm not leaving until my family returns".
I sighed. "Sie-"
"Cyan is right. We can't stay here" Duncan intervene, giving me a slight nod that he agreed with me.
Sienna took a step back as her eyes shifted from Duncan to me then back at him. She couldn't believe what we were saying.
"If my family is not here, where could they be?!" She shouted in anguish.
"They- I - I don't know" Duncan stuttered as he tried to come up with an answer.
I studied his unease posture. Weird. He either doesn't have an answer for her or does and doesn't want to say.
I frowned slightly as I transfered my attention back to Sienna. "Don't worry we will find them".
As much as Duncan and I tried to convince Sienna this wasn't a save place to stay, she refused to leave the home. Clinging to a small hope for their return.
"They probably hiding some where, scared to death. With everything going on, homes have been ransacked in this neighborhood. It happens quite often. Unfortunately my family was one that was targeted".
We didn't dare say anything. We didn't want to break the hope she was holding on to. Duncan and I had our suspicious but we weren't sure.
The slam of the front door came in like a sudden lightning strike. We all quickly rose to our feet, waiting for the intruder to appear. When their shadow came to view from the corner, Sienna was already in full speed, pinning them against the wall with a stake pointing against their heart.
"Its me!" The person cried out.
"Adira" Sienna murmured before letting her go. She took a deep breath in while hiding the stake behind her back pocket.
I had no idea Sienna carried with a stake. I knew well it was Adira's heirloom. I've seen it before.
"Um- what- what happened here? Where is your mom and brother?" Adira asked as she took a quick look around the disorderly place.
"We don't know" Sienna replied in the most restless voice. Her eyes filled with tears again as the thought of loosing her family would become unbearable.
To shun the awful thoughts that crossed her mind, Sienna queried. "What are you doing here? We agreed to meet in three days".
Adira sighed. "Plans have changed. Megan snitch us out to the higher vamps and now we are on the run from them".
"Where's Lars?" Duncan asked.
"He's on his way".
We all nodded in relief. For a second we thought he was captured.
"Jax returned. He didn't come alone", Adira added.
"Well obviously" I said. "He's always with his little puppets who carry out to his every demand". I glared over at Duncan, in return, he rolled his eyes at me.
"No! You're not listening" Adira said clearly annoyed. "It was a human. He brought someone back during his little outing".
Sienna appeared to be very puzzled. "Has he ever done this before?" She asked.
"No. One of the rules is that no vampire shall bring a human into our domicile if that person is not in transition to become a vampire", I answered in absolute indignation.
"Do you know who it was?!" Sienna asked as the desperation took a hold of her. Adira shook her head lightly as she stammered to say the words.
"Tell me!" Sienna yelled, taking a grip of Adira's shirt collar and slamming her against the wall.
"Let her go" I said as I took a step forward. The fear of loosing her family seemed to have put a weight on Sienna. She hadn't realize she was hurting her friend just to get some clarity.
"I won't until she tells me if the human Jax brought in was my mother or brother!". The anger from Sienna's eyes showed just how scared she was. Her face was red as a brick as her eyes stared at Adira intensively.
Color drained from Adira's face. She didn't recognize the friend who had her pinned against the wall.
"Sienna stop it right now. Adira is not the enemy" Duncan averted, placing a hand on Sienna's shoulder.
"I'm so sorry Sienna but I didn't see who it was. Between the crowd of people surrounding them, the person also had a bag over their head. I-I couldn't tell". Adira looked down, strings of her short brown hair falling over her face.
Sienna finally stepped back, letting Adira go.
"I'm going back" She said after a moment of silence.
"Are you crazy! You'll get killed" I said. No way will I let her go back there. I rather loose her to Duncan than seeing her get tortured by Jax again.
Sienna desperately tried to hide how fearful she was. "I need to find out who that person is. There can be a slight chance that it is my family".
"Exactly it's just a small chance. You aren't-".
"A chance I'm willing to take" she interrupted.
"Babe" Duncan said as he approached Sienna, placing his hands on her shoulder. "I'm going with you. I'll protect you. Jax trusts me with his life, I can easily manipulate him".
The scene was quite unbelievable. I felt the frustration radiating from me. Every word, movement and breath he took seemed to infuriate me to no end.
"He can't protect you! Jax will have both your heads the minute you both take a step inside. He's leading you right to the wolves den".
"We'll improvise if needed".
"Improvise? Are you kidding me. This guy is a total joke Sienna" I said. I couldn't understand how she could trust him. He's hiding something, I can feel it deep in my core. I'll be damned if I would ever put Sienna's life in his hands.
"Do you wanna feel my fist against your jaw?" Duncan asked as he lifted his fist in my direction.
"Stop it. You both promised you wouldn't be at each others throat if ya came with me. Now let's talk this out like the civilize people that we are". Sienna tried to cool the situation down rather than adding to the flames.
"Well a minute ago you were about to stake Adira. Talk about being civilized" I uttered with a grin. Adira silently chuckled while Sienna glared at me.
"Ugh time is being wasted. Duncan let's go".
Duncan nodded as they both proceeded to the door.
"Adira and I will stay here and take a look around the neighborhood to see if we spot your mom and bro" I proposed.
Sienna nodded. " Thanks Cyan". Her soft lips stretched into a smile that didn't quite reach her ocean blue eyes. They were lit with sadness and I didn't want her to go but I couldn't stop her. I watched her exit the home. Her fiery red locks disappearing as drops of crystal-clear water altered the color into a dark chestnut. The rain fell into chaotic drops, the wind carrying them in a mass of wild whirling fluid.
With one last look in our direction Sienna and Duncan disappeared into the rain storm.
