I tried to keep my eyes open, I really did. Adira's back was a blur in front of me. My half human side was taking hold of my sleepless night.
"We here".
I yawned, "oh are we?".
Adira frowned noticing how drowsy I was. "Sweetheart, I know you didn't sleep well last night but you can't let that over power you with what you are going to be doing today".
"Yeah, yeah I know. Don't worry", I said blinking a couple of times to see if that kept my eyes awake.
"Well, just enter these doors. Duncan will be waiting for you at the other side".
I faced the door. "Remember", Adira noted. I gaped over at her. She pointed to her ear and then twirled it around the air.
"I know, I know".
"Good so I'll see you later. Break a leg?".
"Ouch! I hope not".
Adira chuckled, giving me a nudge before taking her leave.
I placed my hand on my chest taking a quick inhale and exhale. I really hope I can do this right. I then placed my two hands on the door, giving it a push.
The area was as big as a warehouse. My ears automatically perked up once again, listening to my surroundings.
"Buzz!".
"Eek!". I rubbed the inside of my ear. I heard the buzzing of a fly as if it was flying close by. Once again my ears decided to listen to more. How nosy are ya?
I heard knuckles clashing into something hard. Like another person? No, no more like a punching bag. My gaze followed the sound I was hearing.
I gagged at the view before me. He was a living work of art. Every move giving away his strength. His eyes were locked onto the punching bag. Suddenly as if he knew I was there, he turned around. I sucked in a sharp breath as his shirtless torso was exposed to me.
His abdominals were sculptured to perfection. I was mesmerized by his physique. His body was drool-worthy.
Know me, take me, love me, I kept begging him mentally. What is wrong with me? I'm not like this at all. I looked away feeling embarrassed. I was red as a beetroot and radiate heat like a hot pan. I wanted the earth to open up and swallow me whole.
How embarrassing. I hope he is not looking at me.
I peeked up at him again. Oh no! He looks extremely annoyed. I looked away once again.
Don't be too obvious Sienna. LA LA LA LA.
I looked from left to right, up and down. Trying to make it seem I was looking for someone. Which I was. Where the hell is Duncan?
But my eyes kept coming back to meet the gaze of Cyan.
Stop it! I repeated in my head.
He was wiping the droplets of his body with a towel.
"Sienna!".
Finally.
"Why are you standing there for?", Duncan asked as he made his way towards me.
"I was looking for you", I replied.
He placed a hand behind my back, "lets go, I'll take you on a quick tour around the place before we get started".
"You will be easy on me won't you?".
"Ha! Easy, as if".
I studied his face. A mischievous smile plastered. I hope he's joking.
I looked over my shoulder while Duncan led us. Cyan threw the towel aside his eyes still locked on Duncan and I. His gaze felt like an act of violence, a glare to stop my heart.
He gave his fingers a quick stretch before turning his eyes away from us and started to focus his punches on the bag.
Duncan and I came back to the same area where Cyan had been practicing his punches. This time he was doing some workouts. We stepped on the big cushionable mat.
"Is my outfit okay for this training? I wasn't sure", I said looking down at my long sleeve and soft pants.
"Yeah, yeah. You look good. Actually more than good", he winked at me.
"But just remember one thing when you are practicing you want to be as comfortable as possible. With less clothes".
I crossed my arms. "Oh so you prefer me training with you without clothes?".
"No! I didn't mean it like that", he chortled. "Giving it a second thought it wouldn't be that bad". He placed a finger under his chin, in thought.
"Hey!", I said giving him a punch in the shoulder.
"You are weak".
I puffed. "Weak?!".
"Yeah, look", he said grabbing my hand. "The right punching technique will not only make your punches harder; it will make them more efficient, meaning less energy gets packed into a bigger punch you will have to practice".
"Okay".
"Secondly", he said raising his eyebrow, making it seem consequential.
"Your feet and legs are the anchors of your weight. They keep you balanced, but allow you to transfer power from your lower body to your upper body, right through to your fist". Duncan let's go of my hand and stands at my side.
"Place your feet a little wider than shoulder-width apart". He placed his foot in the middle and pushed both my feet apart.
"Hey!", I said. I wasnt stabled enough so I fell into his chest. He swiftly took held of me. Wrapping his arms around my waist.
"You did that intentionally!".
"I didn't. But it does feel nice doesn't it".
"I-ugh". My cheeks were suddenly kissed pink like a spring rose. I looked away in order to find a distraction. My eyes were caught looking at Cyan over Duncan's shoulder. I received a glaring stare in return.
I was then shoved backwards by Duncan. I was glad we were standing in cushionable mats. Still I was confused. Why the hell did he push me?! That was really unnecessary. One moment he is flirting with me, next minute I am flat on my ass. I can't say which one I prefer.
My eyebrows were creased, looking up at him in confusion.
There was no softness in his gaze. He crosses his arms. Duncan then cleared his throat and I followed his gaze to the entrance. Two men were watching us. I then understood why he had shoved me away.
"Get up!", he yelled.
I nodded and got to my feet, wiping my hands on my pants.
"Now show me what you got".
Shit I thought. Things just got real.
