While Lan Wangji had some duties to attend to at Cloud Recesses, Hua Ying had some things to do himself. He didn't want to let Wangji know until after but he actually wanted to go visit Lan Xichen again. Hua Ying wanted to make sure Lan Xichen wasn't lying through his teeth when he and Wangji visited him earlier. Plus, now that Hua Ying was also alone, he was going to let some of his true nature come to light. He wanted to show Lan Xichen that he was not messing around anymore.

Hua Ying entered Lan Xichen's secluded mountain and to where Xichen was located. Hua Ying saw that Xichen was sitting on a mat meditating, like he was when Wuxian last saw him, "hello again, future brother-in-law," Hua Ying said and leaned against the wall of the room, "must suck to be in here."

Lan Xichen woke from his meditation and sighed before he turned his attention to Hua Ying, "Hua Ying, you have returned I see. Wangji is not with you?" He asked.

"No, I came alone. I wanted to see if you were just playing nice because he was around or if you actually mean to repent for your actions," Hua Ying said, "Lan Zhan really wants you to be at our wedding but, it's a matter of how well you behave until then."

"You seem to still hold a grudge," Lan Xichen said.

"Of course, you nearly hurt your brother by keeping him away from me and breaking his heart in the process. You even taint his Jingshi with sex. You must be really proud of yourself for hurting him so badly," Hua Ying pointed out.

"I apologized and he seemed to have forgiven me," Lan Xichen said.

"You say that, but he is actually still quite hurt by you," Hua Ying informed, "but it is to be expected for what you did. You did let another person cloud your judgment about me and in return, you decided that you trusted him more than your own brother. That really is sad."

"Is there a point to this conversation?" Lan Xichen asked.

"I am quite selfish, so you tell me," Hua Ying replied, "why would I come here to see you? Especially without Lan Zhan present? I am trying to see if your intentions are really true and you wish to repent for your actions. If not, you will not be at the wedding and I know how much Lan Zhan really wants you there, but he is also still upset with you."

"Look, I am sorry for the damage I caused between you and my brother, but I was just looking out for his best interest. I had a right to be worried about him being around you," Xichen told him.

"Well, now that you know that I am a prince, does that ease your doubts or make them feel worse?" Hua Ying asked.

"Prince?"

"You really are stupid, aren't you?" Hua Ying said, "my A'Die is a supreme ghost king and rules ghost city. My Baba is the heavenly martial god and emperor, which makes me next in line for both realms. That makes me prince of the three realms, the heavens, the ghost realm, and the mortal and cultivation realm. So Lan Zhan would naturally be my other half."

"You would put so much responsibility on him like that?" Xichen asked.

"I think you are missing the point here, and it is not me putting responsibilities on his shoulders like that. He will not have to do anything he does not want to. Though he already agreed to be by my side and serve with me, whether he has gained your blessing or not, we did gain Lan Qiren's blessing."

"How?" Xichen asked.

"He actually tolerates me and he knows it would be completely stupid not to make an alliance with the three realms," Hua Ying answered.

"There has to be more than just that," Lan Xichen said.

"Mnn," Hua Ying nodded, "he wants his nephew to be happy. He even said he does not have to take over as sect leader for you. That he can handle things...at the moment, Lan Zhan is just cleaning up some of your mess."

Lan Xichen looked shocked but then he looked upset, "Hua Ying, I really am sorry for my actions towards you...how are you still moving around after taking a thunder strike for him."

"Perks of being a god, Lan Xichen...we heal fast, and those volts help gods level up in power. So it was more than okay for me to take it...then again, I would never want to see Lan Zhan hurt. But he is going to ascend soon, that will be a bit painful but I will be there to help him," Hua Ying said, "there is a lot of things that you will miss out on because of the actions that led you here."

Lan Xichen sighed, "I know. I am paying the price for that, but I am sorry I hurt you."

"Mnn, sure you are," Hua Ying said, "sorry does not change what happened. It does not take back all those things you have done. If you were sorry, you would not have done all those things to begin with."

"Like you do not have regrets or things you are sorry for!" Lan Xichen said, "let's not forget the mess you caused for everyone because of that stupid Yin Hu Fu. You should have known with such a tool, others will envy you and want to take that power away from you or use you for their own gain."

"The thing is, I made that tool to save people, not harm them, which is exactly what Jin Guangyao has done with his personal amulet. I tried to save people who were not cultivators and they also were not involved with the war that took place. You all wanted them dead for one reason and it was because of the name they bared," Hua Ying responded, "that's okay though, Jin Guangyao and Su She are both dead and their souls will forever be tortured by my A'Die until there is nothing left of them.

So, sorry to tell you your lovers are dead...and that woman, her abilities were taken and she was locked up for life. She will die alone for the things that you had her do. So, if you really want to try and compare actions, yours are much worse than mine as I tried to save people, something that you people should have done from the beginning. Yet you killed them all anyway. You must be very proud. That is what your actions have led to. My actions have led me to finish my trial and achieve a fiancé. My choices weren't make out of greed or power, but rather compassion and kindness."

Lan Xichen could no longer counter Hua Ying's argument. He seemed defeated but he knows that was on himself. Hua Ying left Lan Xichen and returned to Cloud Recesses. Hua Ying decided not to tell Wangji about his visit to Xichen for now. He will just tell Wangji that he had errands to take care of for his parents.
