Hua Ying wanted to take Wangji back to Gusu but Wangji said that he would be needed at the Heavenly Palace. So Wangji and Hua Ying parted ways from their night hunt. The two will not be seeing each other for at least another month. The next time they meet, they will be getting married. After Wangji disappears, Hua Ying returns to Ghost City to be with his A'Die at Paradise manor.

"A'Ying, how was your trip?" Hua Cheng asked when his son returned.

"It was nice," Hua Ying answered, "created new memories and made old memories that were not so good into better ones."

"That's good to hear," Hua Cheng said.

"Is Baba at the palace?"

"He is," Hua Cheng answered, "he is making sure Wangji is settled in."

"During this time away from Lan Zhan, I had this idea and I was wondering if you would help me with it? If not I will understand...I can ask his brother to help me as it would give him and I a chance to bond," Hua Ying said.

"What is it?" Hua Cheng asked.

"There are some empty spaces in Gusu to make Lan Zhan a shrine. As he is a newly ascended martial god, he needs to gain followers. I thought Gusu would be the best place as he grew up there," Hua Ying said.

"I can help you, but I do think that this is a good opportunity for you and Xichen to restart and hopefully be at least friends," Hua Cheng said.

"Then I will head to Cloud Recesses to speak with him and Lan Qiren," Hua Ying said.

"Alright, as for money, we are not short of it, so feel free to do what you like," Hua Cheng said.

Hua Ying nodded and gave him a hug before he teleports to Cloud Recesses. The guards at the gates let him in as they knew it would be a bad idea to turn away a ghost king. They also know that Hua Ying is Wangji's fiancé so they dared not upset him. Hua Ying made his way inside and to the main hall. He saw Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen standing there having a conversation with each other when he found them.

Hua Ying cleared his throat, "sorry to come unannounced or to intrude," he said.

"It's alright Hua Ying," Lan Qiren said, "come in."

"I actually came to ask you both a question, maybe it will help me out a bit more," Hua Ying said.

"What would you like to know?" Xichen asked.

"As Lan Zhan is newly ascended, he will need to gain followers and supporters. As Gusu is his birthplace, I thought that it would be a good location to set up his first shrine. I came to ask you if you had any suggestions of where a good place would be and maybe even help me out. He and I talked about this but I want to try and get this done and have it as a surprise gift for a wedding gift," Hua Ying explained, "as you know him well, did you want to help me with it?"

"We would love to help you," Lan Qiren said, "we will be making one within the sect for the disciples to visit but we can also place one in town. There are actually a couple spaces that would make for a good shrine. Xichen, did you want to help him look into it?"

"If he will allow me," Xichen said.

"Of course, I thought it would be a chance for us to make amends and have a fresh start," Hua Ying told him.

"I appreciate it," Xichen said, "we can head out shortly to town if you want?"

"Sure, I am not in too much of a hurry but we are marrying in about a month so it would be nice to try and get as much done as possible," Hua Ying said, "My A'Die told me he will help with funding."

"We are not short on money either but this is something we can split in terms of finances," Lan Qiren said, "just do what you need to. I can handle the sect matters in the meantime."

"Thank you Shufu," Lan Xichen said.

Lan Qiren nodded and looked at Hua Ying, "I have been informed of your new abilities since you gained your new status."

"I am being careful," Hua Ying said, "when I feel like I am getting upset, my A'Die took me to a place where I can let off some steam."

"That's alright," Lan Qiren said, "we will be mindful of you."

"I promise you, I will not do any harm to anyone...unless they give me a reason to," Hua Ying said.

Lan Qiren nodded. Hua Ying and Lan Xichen soon left for town. Lan Xichen was actually glad that Hua Ying wanted to try to make amends with him. He didn't want to hurt Hua Ying anymore. Lan Wangji loved him, and Lan Xichen didn't want to be the reason why Wangji never visits his home in Cloud Recesses anymore. Being next to Hua Ying, however, was going to be a challenge. Lan Xichen could feel Hua Ying's cold aura but he could sense no harm from him.

"I know I have probably apologized to you several times, but I am sorry for the way I have been treating you," Lan Xichen said.

"It's alright," Hua Ying said, "it's long forgotten and I have moved on. For Lan Zhan's sake, I want to try to get along with his family, even if they are against what I am."

"There is nothing wrong with what you are," Xichen said, "just like Hua Cheng, I see no problems. For ghost kings, you two are probably more lenient than I expected actually."

Hua Ying smiled, "we are still ghost kings, but we have stability that most of them don't have. My Baba's cousin Qi Rong for example, he is a nut. He is also weak for a supreme but he tried to imitate other ghost kings, like my father. If he is around, all he does is curse and scream."

Lan Xichen looked at Hua Ying, "anyone else that way?"

"No, black water is not around much, he usually stays in his general area," Hua Ying said, "as for White Calamity, he has been dealt with but there is no telling if he will act out again."

"The ghost world is very..."

"Strange," Hua Ying finished his sentence. Lan Xichen nodded. Hua Ying laughed, "it is but cultivators won't have any work if it was not for us."

"It's not necessarily all you though," Xichen said.

"No, there are just some ghosts and spirits who like to cause trouble. My A'Die will only step in if it's causing too much of a problem," Hua Ying said, "Same goes with my Baba."

"Well, it will be interesting to see how Wangji handles his new role," Xichen said.

"He will do just fine," Hua Ying assured him, "my Baba is basically his mentor so he is in good hands."

"Your parents have been a big support for Wangji. Hua Cheng took a bit longer than Xie Lian, but it's nice to know that Wangji has someone he can go to if he needs someone," Xichen said.

"He still has you, Xichen. He misses you and he cares for you," Hua Ying said, "I can feel his emotions. If something is wrong, I will know. A lot of times, I can tell he wants to turn to you for advice but he has become reluctant."

"It will be my job to fix it then so that he won't be reluctant," Xichen said.

"You have known him longer then me and my family. You should understand him a bit better then us," Hua Ying said.

"At a time, I thought I did," Xichen said, "but I misjudged him over some of his actions in the past before we knew the truth about you and it hurt him. It will take a long time to mend that."

"He will come around," Hua Ying said.

Xichen nodded. He actually needed this kind of conversation with someone. Since it was with Hua Ying, he felt it was something they could really understand. They only want Wangji to be happy and Xichen was glad that Hua Ying was willing to be in Wangji's life again.
