There were a few places that Hua Ying and Wangji wanted to go on their night hunt. They wanted to go to some familiar places and relive some of their memories, maybe even make new ones. The first place the two were going was Tanzhou. The two had memories of looking for the Yin Iron and Tanzhou was the first place they went. At the time, Wangji was not all that thrilled to be alone with Hua Ying but at the same time, deep in his heart, he wanted to get to know him. Hua Ying went by Wei Wuxian at the time as he was going through a trial.

Now, the two were just in Tanzhou because they wanted to be there. They walked through the streets and checked out the vendor stalls. At one point, the two went to the wine house for lunch. Wangji did not drink but he ordered wine for Hua Ying. Hua Ying said he'd pay for the meal this time but Wangji was stubborn and insisted. Hua Ying had a hard time arguing against him sometimes. Hua Ying sighed at it was just a bill for a meal...though Wangji has paid for every meal they had together in the past and he continued to pay even now.

Wangji order some mild dishes for himself and asked Hua Ying what he would prefer. Hua Ying just said anything spicy. Wangji already knew that but he wanted to know if Hua Ying wanted anything specific. Aside from the wine, Hua Ying wasn't necessarily picky about his food. As a ghost, he doesn't necessarily need food either but it's always good to get some other sources of energy and that can come from food.

"Did you want to find an inn and we can head to our next location tomorrow or did you want to travel shortly after we finish eating?" Hua Ying asked.

"I am not in a hurry," Wangji replied, "we can go check out some more vendors and shops if you want."

"Sure, if you want, we can cut through parts of Yunmeng to get to Yiling. The town is still thriving from what I heard," Hua Ying said, "from their we can go to Fojiao Town and visit Dafan."

"Sure," Wangji agreed, "now eat."

"We aren't in Cloud Recesses you know, and if you wish to live outside it with me, you need to learn to let some of those rules go," Hua Ying told him.

"Right," Wangji said, "old habit."

Hua Ying smiled, "then I will help you with breaking them."

"We will see," Wangji said.

Hua Ying looked into Wangji's eyes, "Just know I do not play fair."

"If I remember anything about how you were playing as Wei Ying, then I am very much aware," Wangji said.

"Good," Hua Ying said with a sly grin.

The two ate their meal, and then went on their way. They walked more through the streets and enjoyed the atmosphere. There were children laughing and music playing. It was very lively at the moment. The two hit a couple stalls, bought a couple things, and then went to find an inn to stay at. The two found a place and ordered dinner and a bath. Well, two baths to be precise. Once one bath was full, Hua Ying went first, and then Wangji went second. Their dinner arrived shortly after Wangji finished his bath.

The next day, the two were on their way. They went through Yunping City just to avoid Lotus Pier and potentially having to deal with Jiang Cheng. They were only passing through as they were headed to Yiling. The found an inn for one night in town before heading towards the forest of Yiling and set up a camp. There, the two would be doing some night hunting. There were still corpses that still needed to be taken care of. Jin Guangyao made such a huge mess of things and the cultivation world is still cleaning up from it.

It was later in the evening and the two had a fire made and food cooked over the blaze. Wangji saw that Hua Ying was actually a bit distracted by something, "Hua Ying?"

Hua Ying looked at him, "huh?"

"Are you alright?" Wangji asked.

"Yes," he replied, "I am just using some of my A'Die's butterflies to scope out the area. Just to make sure we are safe."

"Oh," Wangji replied, "We are not as easy to kill these days you know. I am a martial god and you are a ghost king. I think we are safe for the most part."

"You never know," Hua Ying said, "Martial Gods still have weaknesses, same with Ghost Kings. I get it's more difficult to harm us but that doesn't mean we should let our guard down too much."

Wangji nodded, "alright," he said. The two soon ate their food together and then relaxed beside the fire. It was getting close to the time Wangji would actually be going to bed. He was still wired with the Lan sleep schedule.

"If you are getting tired, you can go to sleep, I am going to stay up for a bit longer," Hua Ying said, "I don't need sleep anyway."

"Alright," Wangji replied, "can you lay with me at least?"

Hua Ying giggled, "Hanguang Jun needs cuddles to sleep. How cute!"

"I need my A'Ying with me to sleep," Wangji corrected.

"Then I will lay with you," Hua Ying told him. Wangji went to lay down in his makeshift bed and Hua Ying cuddled up next to him. Wangji wrapped his arms around Hua Ying and pulled him closer. Hua Ying laughed as he rested against Wangji's chest, "Such a cuddle bear."

"No," Wangji denied.

"Yes you are," Hua Ying argued playfully, "you have me in such a tight hold that I would really need to struggle to get up."

"Good," Wangji said.

"And if something happens and I need to act quickly to protect us both?" Hua Ying asked.

"Wake me, I am a light sleeper," Wangji told him.

"I forgot about that," Hua Ying said, "very well."
