Lan Wangji did not know what to think about all this. He knows that he cannot blamed Hua Ying for any of this. If his job is to interrogate prisoners, Lan Wangji will respect that. This is want Xie Lian was not wanting to see and this boy was in pain, "Wangji, I came here to check on you, without my husband. Unlike him, I want what is best for both parties. "Does Hua Ying really blame me? Hate me?" Wangji asked.

"No," Xie Lian replied and sat down beside Wangji, "Hua Ying has always been a bit complicated. For the two hundred years that Hua Cheng and I have spent raising him, Hua Ying has always been this way. He acts before he speaks. It's his way of doing things. He is afraid of confrontation and he is also afraid of hurting someone he loves unintentionally. Hua Ying did not go to your brother thinking that Xichen had other intentions. "Is there a chance I can see him again? Maybe ask him myself why he is so angry about Hua Ying and me together?" Wangji asked.

Xie Lian nodded, "how about I take you out now? I am sure it would be best to go sooner than later."

"Thank you," Wangji said. Xie Lian took Wangji to the secluded mountain that Xichen was locked prisoner in. Once inside Wangji demanded answers, "Xiongzhang, why are you so determined to ruin my relationship with Hua Ying? What is it about him you do not like?"

"It is not that I do not like him, Wangji, I just do not want you with someone who is unpredictable like him," Xichen replied.

"Unpredictable?" Wangji asked, "you are questioning the validity of his godhood. You do realize that is a crime, right? You are bringing him so much hate and misjudgment, it is written within our family rules that we mustn't be this way. Why are you so clouded by Jin Guangyao's words against him? Hua Ying actually wanted to help you but you betrayed him and you betrayed me. You believed in someone who isn't your blood. You made me feel inferior to that lowly person. You even try to set me up with a woman that you wanted. How disgusting is that? Let alone taint my house with your filthy actions!"

Lan Xichen had never seen his brother this angry and he realized that he really hurt Wangji, "I am sorry, Wangji."

"Sorry isn't going to fix this situation this time, Xichen!" Wangji yelled, "because of this mess, I am at risk for losing him again!"

Xie Lian finally spoke up and explained Hua Ying's situation. He explained how after Hua Ying visited, he became questioned by Wangji for going behind his back when Hua Ying was just doing his job to begin with. Xichen was shocked to hear that Hua Ying is going to a very dangerous situation right now because Xichen accidentally caused another rift between him and Wangji. That wasn't at all what he wanted. He just doesn't trust anyone anymore because of how much he was manipulated. He should have known better that Hua Ying was not someone to ever hurt him carelessly. Xichen now understands Wangji's anger and he knows that he cannot fix this problem right now as he is confined within a prison and now has two cursed shackles on his body. One for sealing his abilities and the other, sealing his luck.
