Jey sat in his car outside Alexis' house, gripping the envelope so tightly his knuckles turned white. His heart pounded against his ribcage, a sickening mix of relief and rage swirling in his stomach. He wasn't Lily's father.

But someone in his family was.

The moment he got the call from the clinic, his whole world tilted. He had been bracing himself for fatherhood, for the weight of responsibility to settle onto his shoulders. But now, he was staring at an entirely different reality-one he hadn't been prepared for.

Jey took a deep breath and stepped out of the car, his movements stiff as he walked up to the door. Alexis opened it before he even knocked, her face tense, like she already knew the answer.

"Well?" she asked, voice barely above a whisper.

Jey handed her the envelope. "Not mine."

Alexis swallowed hard, her fingers trembling as she took it from him. "I... I don't understand."

Jey scoffed, running a hand down his face. "Yeah? Well, neither do I. But the test doesn't lie." He exhaled sharply, shaking his head. "You said it was me, Alexis. You really believed that, or did you just pick the most convenient option?"

She flinched, guilt flashing across her face. "I wasn't lying, Jey. I really thought..." She trailed off, her gaze shifting toward the floor. "She looks so much like you."

Jey let out a bitter laugh. "Yeah, well, turns out she looks like one of my damn brothers instead."

Alexis' eyes snapped up to his, wide with shock. "What?"

Jey crossed his arms over his chest, his jaw tightening. "Test said I'm not the father, but Lily is related to me. That means she belongs to either Jimmy... or Solo."

The silence between them was deafening. Alexis' breath hitched, and she took a shaky step back. "No. No, that's not possible."

Jey's eyes burned with frustration. "Well, it is. And now, I gotta figure out which one of them was with you behind my back."

Alexis shook her head violently, tears spilling down her cheeks. "Jey, I swear, I never... I never meant for this to happen."

Jey exhaled sharply, his hands shaking as he tried to keep his emotions in check. He had been ready to step up for this little girl, to do what was right. And now? Now he was left picking up the pieces of another betrayal.

"This ain't just about you, Alexis," he said, his voice low and sharp. "This is about Lily. She deserves to know who her real father is."

Alexis wiped at her tears, nodding as she pulled herself together. "You're right." Her voice was shaky, but her resolve was clear. "I'll do whatever it takes to get the truth."

Jey nodded, his heart still pounding in his chest. "Yeah. You better."

Without another word, he turned on his heel and walked back to his car, his mind already racing with the confrontation waiting for him.

One of his brothers had betrayed him.

And Jey wasn't stopping until he got the truth.
