Chapter 22~ The Ultimate Prize
The crowd inside the arena was still buzzing, the energy at an all-time high as Jey Uso stood victorious in the middle of the ring, pointing toward the WrestleMania sign. His music had faded, but the chants of "UCE! UCE! UCE!" echoed loud and clear.
Jey paced the ring for a moment, his chest rising and falling as he took it all in. This was his moment. His time. And there was only one thing that could make it even more perfect.
Sliding out of the ring, he made his way toward the barricade, where his family was celebrating. He locked eyes with Natalia, who was holding Malakai in her arms, both of them beaming with pride.
Jey reached for Malakai first, lifting him over the barricade and into his arms. The little boy wrapped his arms around Jey's neck, squeezing tight.
"You did it, Daddy!" Malakai cheered, his excitement making Jey's heart swell.
"Yeah, I did, lil' man," Jey said, kissing the top of his son's head before shifting his gaze to Natalia. "But I ain't done yet."
Natalia looked at him in confusion as Jey handed Malakai over to Jimmy, then reached for her hand. "What are you doing?" she asked as he guided her over the barricade.
The crowd erupted as Jey helped Natalia into the ring, the surprise clear on her face. She looked around, almost shy under the bright lights, but Jey kept his grip firm on her hand, grounding her.
He took the microphone from the announcer, and the entire arena fell silent, hanging onto his every word.
"Nati," Jey started, his voice thick with emotion. "You know me better than anyone. You know where I come from, what I've been through, and everything I had to fight to get here. But through all of that... you're the one thing I never stopped wanting."
Natalia's breath hitched as the crowd "aww'd," realizing what was happening.
Jey took a step closer, squeezing her hand. "You gave me the greatest gift of my life-our son. And I know I can't change the past, can't make up for the years we lost, but I can promise you the rest of my life."
The crowd roared as Jey reached into his pocket and dropped to one knee in the middle of the ring.
Natalia gasped, her free hand flying to her mouth, eyes wide as Jey held up a diamond ring.
"Natalia Rivera," Jey said, his voice steady despite the emotion in his eyes. "Will you marry me?"
The arena exploded. Fans were screaming, people were on their feet, cameras flashing everywhere.
Tears welled in Natalia's eyes as she looked down at Jey-the man who had stolen her heart all those years ago, the father of her child, the man who had just proven to the world that he was main event material.
And in this moment, there was no doubt in her heart.
"Yes," she whispered, nodding before saying it louder. "Yes!"
Jey grinned, slipping the ring onto her finger before standing and wrapping her in his arms, lifting her off her feet.
The crowd cheered as Jey kissed her deeply, sealing the moment. When they finally pulled apart, Malakai ran into the ring, and Jey scooped him up, holding both Natalia and their son close.
His family joined them in the ring, surrounding them in celebration.
Tonight, Jey Uso didn't just win the Royal Rumble.
He won the biggest prize of all.
