Cassie woke up and it was about midday. She sat up in bed and yawned, still worn out. After a moment she realized that she was in her bed rather than on the floor where she remembers that she fell asleep in the first place. Cassie decided that she was going to refuse to leave her room today. She got out of bed, locked the door and went into the bathroom. She realized that the bathtub was emptied sometime while she was asleep as well. She started a new bath, mentally putting on her list to thank those girls for cleaning out the tub.

She climbed into the tub and relaxed. It didn’t last long. Each time she closed her eyes, she was haunted with Aiden and Kris’s memory. She was scared to keep remembering them, now that they were gone she knew she was alone and she was afraid to feel alone. She finally climbed out and wrapped a towel around her before draining the tub. She walked out of the bathroom and had a heart attack when she saw Kade sitting the arm of the chair. She held the towel tighter before walking past him and looked into the closet. There were two sundresses and nothing else. She grabbed one before walking back towards the bathroom. She closed the door and pulled the dress on, then used the towel to dry her hair.

“I was thinking that we would go get you supplies.” She heard him through the door and she rolled her eyes.

“I don’t want to go anywhere outside my room today.” She opened the door and gasped when Kade was right outside of the door. She scowled at him and attempted to push past him but he grabbed her arm.

“Well, unless your plan is to walk around naked, then by all means reject my offer. But I’m only offering to out today.” She stared at his hand gripping her arm and then back at him.

“You are a total ass one moment and then nice the next. Don’t appreciate it.” She shook him off and grabbed her high heels, putting them back on her sore feet. She walked out of her bedroom and didn’t care if he followed. She walked out into the garage and waited for him. He came out and she held out her hand. He looked up at her and raised an eyebrow.

“You are not driving.”

“I am not going shopping with you.”

“Then you aren’t going.” She shrugged and opened the garage door and started walking out. She wasn’t sure where she was going but she wanted to get away from him. Her back was suddenly slammed against a tree and she got the air knocked out of her. She almost dropped to her knees but was held up.

“Bastard.” Cassie gasped out, praying that she didn’t have a broken rib. She looked up at him and saw the coldness in her eyes.

“I am being more than patient enough with you, Cassandra. Knock it off.” He let go and she slid to the ground, gasping for air. Tears came to her eyes each time she tried to breathe in with pain slicing through her back. She saw Kade’s shoes in front of her, waiting.

“My Lord.” Cassie glanced up and saw one of the maid’s walking out with the jean jacket she left in her room.

“Thank you, darling.” The maid stared at Cassie for a moment before walking back into the house. Cassie slowly stood up on wobbly legs and hugged herself as she breathed in deeply. Pain shot through her ribs and she slowly walked back towards the house. Kade placed the jacket around her shoulders before walking before her and opening the passenger seat. She climbed in and he got into the drivers seat, taking off.
