A Fractured Relationship

Disclaimer: There is some violence in this chapter if you are sensitive you may skip it.

It is currently 4:30 am and Wellington is sitting by the river's edge. Staring at his reflection in the dark murky water he begins quietly crying to himself. His tears begin gently falling into the water like raindrops causing small ripples. Suddenly he hears a familiar and calm voice.

Victor Nyland: Why are you awake Englishman?
Wellington: I have a name...Stop calling me Englishman and use my name.
Victor Nyland: Fine Arthur. Now, why are you awake so early?
Wellington: Just couldn't sleep that's all.
Victor Nyland: It's very early. I know that your men are not awake this early. I know when they have their little wake up call.
Wellington: Why are you awake then?
Victor Nyland: I'm use to the darkness...The sun sets and rises at odd times where I come from. I'm use to many hours of darkness.

Wellington: I see...
Victor Nyland: You seem upset...Why is that?
Wellington: My brother General Henry Wellesley is here.
Victor Nyland: Why are you upset about that? Shouldn't you be happy to see your brother?
Wellington: Things didn't go well.
Victor Nyland: What happened?
Wellington: We fought yesterday. I think he hates me now.

Wellington starts crying even more and Victor Nyland calmly approaches him and sits down beside him. Wellington starts speaking in a tone full of sadness and guilt.

Wellington: I shouldn't have left him when he lost his wife.
Victor Nyland: Don't blame yourself it doesn't help.
Wellington: What else am I meant to do!? My brother hates me for something I couldn't help stop. I had to leave him because there was a war. I was doing my duty! But now I'm thinking that I shouldn't have left him...
Victor Nyland: Stop blaming yourself you silly Englishman.
Wellington: He's right I am a bastard...I left him when he needed me.
Victor Nyland: You are not a bastard. No one can stop a war from happening...Wars have been happening before you and I were even born.

Victor Nyland gently puts his hand on Wellington's shoulder. Wellington begins sobbing a lot. Victor Nyland starts speaking in a calm and comforting tone.

Victor Nyland: Calm yourself...deep breaths. Don't blame yourself...It's not your fault. Blaming yourself won't help.

A few minutes later Wellington has calmed down a little bit. But he is still crying and whimpering. Wellington starts speaking in an upset voice.

Wellington: I now have to punish him for what he did. But I don't want to...I still love him even if he hates me.
Victor Nyland: Why do you have to punish him?
Wellington: He started an illegal duel. He struck me and another superior officer. I don't want to punish him...
Victor Nyland: Is there a way where you don't have to punish him?
Wellington: No...If I don't punish him...It will hurt my authority and reputation...
Victor Nyland: I see...
Wellington: I don't want to punish him...Because it will possibly destroy our already fractured relationship...But I have to.

Victor Nyland: I understand that. I also suggest that you go back to bed. Crying doesn't help the situation.
Wellington: I can't sleep...
Victor Nyland: You need to sleep. If you don't sleep it will just make you feel worse.
Wellington: Fine...Your right.
Victor Nyland: If you need to see me again you know where to find me.
Wellington: Yes...

Wellington calmly gets up and begins walking back to the camp through the dark forest. A couple of hours later Wellington suddenly hears someone enter his tent.

He slowly opens his eyes and he notices Lord Uxbridge staring at him. Wellington starts speaking in a calm and slightly tired voice.

Wellington: Uxbridge why are you here?
Lord Uxbridge: Just wondering if you are alright sir.
Wellington: I'm fine Uxbridge I'm use to almost getting myself killed.
Lord Uxbridge: Do you want breakfast, sir?
Wellington: I'm not hungry...
Lord Uxbridge: So what punishment are you going to give your brother?
Wellington: I don't know Uxbridge I would prefer not to think about it. Speaking of him where is he? He wanted to speak to me last night.

Lord Uxbridge: The last time I saw him he was tearing up a letter and burning it in a fire.
Wellington: Is he still angry at me?
Lord Uxbridge: Possibly...
Wellington: I shall go see him as soon as I get ready. You may leave now Uxbridge.
Lord Uxbridge: Yes sir.

Lord Uxbridge calmly leaves the tent and Wellington groggily gets out of bed. Grabbing his coat and putting it on he then begins promptly doing up the buttons. Sitting down on the nearby seat Wellington then grabs his boots and puts them on and instantly ties the laces.

Exiting the tent Wellington begins calmly walking through the camp in search of his brother. He smells the familiar aromas of the camp such as burning wood and alcohol. Suddenly he hears someone complaining.

Lennox Fraser: Seriously Ben you burnt the bloody rabbit. How are you so awful at cooking!?
Benedict Fraser: Well, I didn't expect it to burn...
Lennox Fraser: Jesus Christ you are an idiot...
Benedict Fraser: Lennox!

Wellington stops and awkwardly stares.

*Wellington in thought*

These two always cause some sort of trouble even with their breakfast it seems.

Kind of reminds me of when my mother and father trusted me and Henry to cook breakfast...

We ended up burning the food...

Henry thought it was funny...I don't understand how almost burning down the house is funny.

He thought it was my fault and I thought it was his. But we were silly children.

Wellington then continues walking through the camp while Lennox and Benedict Fraser continue awkwardly complaining at each other. A couple of minutes later he hears a peaceful tune being played on a violin along with a cheerful voice.

Corey: Good Morning Sir.
Wellington: Good Morning Corey.
Corey: You looking for something?
Wellington: I'm looking for my brother Corey.
Corey: Haven't seen him around here besides I have been too busy playing my violin.
Wellington: I see...

Corey stops playing his violin and he stares at Wellington. Staring into Wellingtons sky blue eyes he notices the sadness and guilt in them. Corey starts speaking in a calm voice that has a hint of concern in it.

Corey: Are you alright sir?
Wellington: Corey I'm fine just tired. I couldn't sleep well.
Corey: I see. Well, I hope that you find your brother sir.
Wellington: I might see you later Corey.
Corey: Yes sir. Enjoy your day.

Wellington then continues walking through the camp once again. A few minutes later he notices a man with dark brown hair and grey eyes. The man is wearing a very tidy cavalry uniform which has a couple of shiny medals on it.

The man is sitting calmly on a wooden stool sharpening his sabre. Wellington stops and stares calmly at the man. The man stops sharpening his sabre and looks up at Wellington and smiles a little bit. The man starts speaking in a pleasant voice.

???: Good morning sir.
Wellington: Good morning Lieutenant General Carrington.
Winston Carrington: You alright sir?
Wellington: Just looking for someone.
Winston Carrington: Who are you looking for sir?
Wellington: My brother.
Winston Carrington: Oh, I didn't know that the General was here sir.
Wellington: Have you seen him?
Winston Carrington: Unfortunately no I haven't sir. I have been busy with my duties and sharpening my sword.
Wellington: I see. Well, I shall carry on then.
Winston Carrington: Yes sir.

Wellington continues once again to walk through the camp. A few minutes later he hears the sound of gunfire. Glancing over to his left he notices two lines of men firing their muskets. Then he notices a man with auburn hair staring at the men firing their muskets.

Wellington calmly strolls up to the man. The man stares at Wellington with his piercing green eyes. Wellington starts speaking in a calm and pleasant voice.

Wellington: Good morning General Ashworth.
Linn Ashworth: Good morning sir.
Wellington: How are your men General?
Linn Ashworth: They are good sir.
Wellington: How many rounds a minute can they fire?
Linn Ashworth: Three sir.
Wellington: Excellent. I'm assuming that you might try and capture another eagle.
Linn Ashworth: My men always talk about me taking that eagle at Salamanca.
Wellington: Your men did well General.

Linn Ashworth: Indeed they did. But I'm assuming that you aren't here to just talk about me taking the eagle.
Wellington: I'm wondering where my brother is.
Linn Ashworth: I haven't seen the General I have been busy with my men and my duties sir. Why do you need to find him, sir?
Wellington: I need to talk with him.
Linn Ashworth: I'm sorry that I couldn't be of any assistance sir.
Wellington: It's fine General. I shall carry on and hopefully find him.

Wellington continues walking through the camp. A few minutes later, he notices Henry Wellesley standing under a tree leaning against the trunk. He also notices that Henry is drinking a bottle of wine.

Wellington calmly strolls over to Henry. Henry Wellesley starts speaking in an annoyed voice.

Henry Wellesley: What do you want you bastard...
Wellington: Henry enough. Don't speak to me like that or I will make your punishment worse.
Henry Wellesley: You're going to punish me!?
Wellington: I have to Henry...

Henry Wellesley suddenly smashes the wine bottle against the tree out of anger. Then he suddenly roughly shoves Wellington up against the tree and glares into Wellington's eyes. Henry Wellesley starts speaking in a tone full of anger.

Henry Wellesley: Why are you going to punish me!? What is this about Arthur you promised that you would never hurt me!
Wellington: Henry if I don't do this it will hurt my reputation and authority!
Henry Wellesley: Is that all you care about Arthur!? Your reputation and authority!
Wellington: Henry! It's not just that I care about! I still care about you and my family.
Henry Wellesley: Why are you punishing me then!? I shouldn't be the one getting punished here!
Wellington: Henry I'm sorry that I have to do this.
Henry Wellesley: Are you really sorry Arthur!?
Wellington: Yes.
Henry Wellesley: I honestly doubt it.

Wellington: Henry I'm not lying!
Henry Wellesley: You are lying! God damn you! You bastard!
Wellington: General Henry Wellesley stop insulting me!
Henry Wellesley: I hate liars...

Wellington suddenly notices General Linn Ashworth hastily marching over. Wellington starts speaking in a calm voice.

Wellington: Stop causing a scene, Henry.
Henry Wellesley: You lying bastard...
Wellington: Enough Henry.
Henry Wellesley: Richard and William will hear about this and they will not be pleased!
Wellington: They will be angry at you not me Henry!

Henry Wellesley suddenly kicks Wellington where it hurts the most. Then Suddenly General Ashworth grabs Henry Wellesley by the arm and pulls him backwards. General Ashworth stares at Henry Wellesley with a serious look on his face. General Ashworth starts speaking in a commanding tone.

Linn Ashworth: You sir will not disrespect His Lordship like that again you hear me!?
Henry Wellesley: Who are you, sir?
Linn Ashworth: I'm General Linn Ashworth...I'm the General who took the French eagle at Salamanca...
Henry Wellesley: I...I see.
Linn Ashworth: I have been a General far longer than you sir. I know how to respect my men and most importantly, His Lordship. I suggest you learn some respect, sir.
Henry Wellesley: Yes...sir.
Linn Ashworth: Now leave...
Henry Wellesley: Yes sir.

Linn Ashworth gently lets go of Henry Wellesley's arm. Henry Wellesley promptly walks off. Linn Ashworth calmly approaches Wellington who is kneeling on the ground in pain. Linn Ashworth starts speaking in a calm voice.

Linn Ashworth: Sir are you alright?
Wellington: Does it look like I am alright General.
Linn Ashworth: No sir...I don't even want to know what it's like being hit down there...
Wellington: Don't mention it to anyone, please...Also, it's very painful but somewhat amusing to the ones who watch it be done.
Linn Ashworth: Well what are you going to do about him, sir?
Wellington: Arrange a punishment I was already planning to do that anyway.
Linn Ashworth: I see are you going to make it more severe sir?

Wellington: No I'm just going to give the punishment I already had planned for him.
Linn Ashworth: And what is that sir?
Wellington: I was thinking that 150 lashes will suffice.
Linn Ashworth: Why so many lashes sir?
Wellington: He started an illegal duel and struck me twice along with striking Lord Uxbridge.
Linn Ashworth: 200 lashes?
Wellington: God I'm not trying to kill my brother General Ashworth.
Linn Ashworth: 170 then?

Wellington: Fine that does seem right for what he has done...But I'm not going to kill him. Just make him bleed...that's all.
Linn Ashworth: May I do it, sir?
Wellington: Fine. But remember no more than 170 I'm not going to kill him. Just make him bleed General.
Linn Ashworth: Yes sir.

Linn Ashworth holds out his hand and Wellington gently grabs it. Linn Ashworth carefully helps Wellington back on his feet. Wellington starts speaking in a calm and pleasant voice.

Wellington: Thank you, General Ashworth.
Linn Ashworth: It's fine sir. So I'm assuming that you will tell me when this punishment will take place, sir?
Wellington: Yes General.
Linn Ashworth: Are you going to watch the punishment?
Wellington: No General I hate watching punishments, especially hangings.
Linn Ashworth: I understand sir.
Wellington: You may go back to your duties General Ashworth. I will get Lord Uxbridge to tell you when it's time to do the punishment.
Linn Ashworth: Yes sir.

Linn Ashworth calmly marches off and Wellington begins heading back to his tent. A few minutes later Wellington enters his tent and calmly sits down at his desk. Lord Uxbridge suddenly enters the tent and stares calmly at Wellington.

Wellington starts speaking in a calm but serious voice.

Wellington: Yes Uxbridge?
Lord Uxbridge: I heard that there was a commotion between you, Henry and General Ashworth. Is everything alright sir?
Wellington: Henry wasn't pleased that I'm getting him punished. General Ashworth was telling Henry off. Because Henry struck me in a place that I don't want to mention. I have made his punishment more severe for striking me again.
Lord Uxbridge: I see...So what's his punishment, sir?
Wellington: 170 lashes.
Lord Uxbridge: What was the previous punishment going to be before he struck you again?
Wellington: 150 lashes.

Lord Uxbridge: That seems reasonable. I understand that you don't want to kill him. Because I know that giving someone a lot of lashes could kill them.
Wellington: Yes...
Lord Uxbridge: When will the punishment be taking place, sir?
Wellington: At noon Uxbridge. Also are you sure that you want to go watch my brother be punished? You being there might just make him angrier at you Uxbridge.
Lord Uxbridge: Perhaps you are right sir. Maybe I shouldn't go. I'm assuming that you won't be going, sir.
Wellington: No Uxbridge.

Wellington quietly sighs to himself. Lord Uxbridge starts speaking in a calm and pleasant voice.

Lord Uxbridge: Is that all sir?
Wellington: I need you to tell General Ashworth that the flogging will be at noon Uxbridge.
Lord Uxbridge: Why do I need to tell him, sir?
Wellington: Well I decided that he will be the one doing the flogging. I told him to only do 170 lashes. I don't need him killing my brother. I know that some Generals are ruthless but General Ashworth isn't.
Lord Uxbridge: I shall go tell him then sir.
Wellington: Yes Uxbridge.

Lord Uxbridge calmly exits the tent. Wellington stares at the small pile of important papers. Then he gently grabs one and begins carefully reading it.

A couple of minutes later he finishes reading the important report. He quietly sighs to himself out of frustration.

*Wellington in thought*

I didn't want to get him punished...

I care for him so much.

But now he hates me...

And I don't know what to do...

I don't know how to earn his love back...

Our relationship is breaking apart...

How do I repair this relationship?..

How do I fix this situation and make things right again?

Will, he ever forgive me in the end?

Will he love me as a brother again?

This feels like it's my fault...

Wellington's eyes suddenly begin filling with tears causing his vision to blur. Then he begins very quietly sobbing to himself. Suddenly Wellington hears someone enter his tent. Wellington looks up and notices Henry Wellesley staring at him.

Henry starts speaking in a slightly irritated tone.

Henry Wellesley: Really your crying like a child Arthur.
Wellington: You don't understand how I feel! I have been fighting for the safety of my country and the safety of my family for many years. You don't understand how much war can break a man.
Henry Wellesley: You don't understand how I feel either! You left me when I needed you! William was too busy to care for me all the time and besides he treats me like a bastard. Richard cared for me but he was busy as well. And where were you!? Fighting in bloody Spain! I looked up to you! I loved you!

Henry Wellesley suddenly knocks the stack of papers off Wellington's desk out of anger. Wellington gets out of his seat and starts yelling in a commanding voice.

Wellington: Get out Henry! I have had enough of this!
Henry Wellesley: I'm not going anywhere!
Wellington: Get out that is an order, Henry!
Henry Wellesley: You really want to order me around!?
Wellington: I said get out! Now Henry!
Henry Wellesley: No I'm not leaving until you decide to not punish me!

Suddenly Winston Carrington enters the tent due to the commotion. Henry Wellesley turns around and stares at him. Winston Carrington starts speaking in a calm but serious voice.

Winston Carrington: I suggest you leave General.
Henry Wellesley: You have no authority to tell me to leave Lieutenant General Carrington.
Winston Carrington: I also saw what you did to His Lordship. But since General Ashworth was already there I decided to not interfere. You need to learn some respect, General.

Henry Wellesley suddenly roughly grabs Winston Carrington's collar and glares into his eyes. Henry Wellesley starts speaking in a very intimidating tone.

Henry Wellesley: You are the one who needs to learn some respect, Lieutenant General Carrington...Those who fall out of line get punished or even killed!
Winston Carrington: I am loyal to my country. My King. And His Lordship. I know respect sir and I have rarely been beaten or flogged. I know my place and I know respect. You should also know the same. So I suggest you follow Lord Wellington's order to get out of the tent sir.

Henry Wellesley lets go of Winston Carrington's collar and continues glaring at him. Henry Wellesley starts speaking in an irritated tone.

Henry Wellesley: You loyal twat...
Winston Carrington: Loyalty is important sir. I suggest you leave.

Henry Wellesley exits the tent and gently shoves Winston Carrington. But Winston Carrington stands firm. Wellington stares at Winston Carrington with a small smirk on his face.

Wellington starts speaking in a slightly happier voice.

Wellington: Your a good man Lieutenant General Carrington.
Winston Carrington: I'm use to people sometimes not knowing any respect. But I will always be loyal to you. My country and His Majesty. Even if you give me the most fierce General there is.
Wellington: Well what are you going to do when you become a General yourself?
Winston Carrington: I will teach my men respect and loyalty, sir. I will also not be afraid to flog any of them personally myself sir. I can be ruthless if you wish. But if they earn my respect I will respect them.

Wellington: I know what you are capable of. You will make a great General.
Winston Carrington: Thank you, sir. Hopefully, the battle will start soon I can't wait to cut down those bloody French.
Wellington: We are getting close to Belgium. We will be travelling again tomorrow. You will get your chance, Lieutenant General Carrington.
Winston Carrington: I shall get back to my duties sir.
Wellington: Yes.

Winston Carrington calmly exits the tent and Wellington sits back down at his desk. Wellington sighs quietly to himself out of frustration while staring at the large mess of papers on the ground.

*Wellington in thought*

I had all of those papers in perfect order!

God damn you, Henry!

This will take forever to clean up!

I'm going to have to put them back in the right order again!

That will take even longer!

A few hours later it is currently 1:00 pm. There is a small crowd of soldiers gathered around the area where Henry Wellesley is being flogged. General Ashworth violently whacks Henry with the whip.

Winston Carrington: 166!
Henry Wellesley: You will pay for this!
Linn Ashworth: Oh be quiet you should be glad that I ain't going to kill you.

General Ashworth whacks Henry with the whip again.

Winston Carrington: 167!
Henry Wellesley: You bastards!
Winston Carrington: Should have gagged him...
Linn Ashworth: Depends on how I'm feeling that day. I sometimes prefer them to be quiet or I prefer to let them scream and cry.

General Ashworth whacks Henry with the whip again.

Winston Carrington: 168!
Henry Wellesley: Hit me harder, you bastard!
Winston Carrington: General Ashworth may I have a go I can tell that you are getting tired sir.
Linn Ashworth: Fine give him hell Lieutenant General Carrington.

Linn Ashworth calmly hands the whip over to Winston Carrington. Winston Carrington starts speaking in a calm voice.

Winston Carrington: This is for disrespecting His Lordship...
Henry Wellesley: You loyal twat...

Winston Carrington violently strikes Henry with the whip. This causes Henry to start crying a little bit.

Linn Ashworth: 169!
Henry Wellesley: You will never humiliate me again.
Winston Carrington: If you had some respect for His Lordship you wouldn't be here!

Winston Carrington violently strikes Henry with the whip one last time.

Linn Ashworth: 170!
Winston Carrington: Go get yourself cleaned up sir.
Henry Wellesley: You will never do that again you hear me!
Linn Ashworth: If it is an order from Lord Wellington we will follow it. Now leave sir get yourself cleaned up.

Henry Wellesley unbinds his hands from the post and promptly leaves the area.

A few hours later it is now 8:45 pm and Wellington has managed to neatly put his papers back into an organised pile.

*Wellington in thought*

I guess I should begin writing letters and also send that other letter to Richard.

I need his advice...

He's been good at giving me advice and helping me with a lot of things...

I also guess I will accept his little dinner party invitation...Just as long as it's little and he doesn't decide to invite a lot of people.

I don't understand why Richard likes parties...

Same with William although he mostly goes to a party to get drunk.

I don't mind parties just as long as they aren't too large. Also, William and Henry just think I'm awkward like not everyone likes large parties full of drunk people.

Wellington grabs a blank piece of paper and begins calmly writing.

July 5th 1815

My dear friend

Hello, Nelson, I thank you for saving London. Honestly, I don't know what England would do without you and the Royal Navy.

Also, I thank you for warning me about Admiral Villeneuve's plan. I'm glad you stopped him for now at least.

But I will definitely still stay aware of his plan of trying to land 30,000 men. If you possibly find out what he is actually planning to do with these 30,000 men, please do tell me as soon as you can.

I doubt that they would try and capture the messengers again after this defeat they suffered. But it is indeed a good idea to give the messengers an escort.

Your dear friend
Arthur Wellesley

Wellington gently folds up the letter and puts it aside. Then he grabs another piece of paper and continues writing.

July 5th 1815

My dearest Kitty

I'm glad that you are safe my love and that our children are safe. I heard about the attack on London and I'm glad that nothing happened to you or the children.

I'm sure that we will be able to spend a lot of time together as a family once I return from the war. Since you want that and I want that as well. Will, you possibly be able to come to this small dinner party that my brother Richard is planning on hosting?

I know that it might be a bit unexpected. But Richard wants me to be there so that he and my other brothers can congratulate me on earning my title. I promise that after this party you and I will spend as much time together as a family as we want.

I also thank you for supporting me, Kitty. I'm glad that you will always be there for me and I will always be there for you and the children. I'm still not sure if I will be Prime Minister or not. But I'm glad you will support me either way.

I promise my love that I will come back home to you unharmed. You will not lose me.

Your most loving husband
Arthur Wellesley.

Wellington gently folds up the letter and puts it aside with the other letter. Then he grabs another blank sheet of paper and continues writing.

July 5th 1815

My dear brother

Hello, Richard are you sure that the news of people wanting me to be Prime Minister would be that big. Would it really be all over Britain? Of course, William would know he is always reading a newspaper.

I also accept your invitation to this small dinner party you are planning. Please don't invite too many people I don't like large parties and you know that. Also, I hope that you don't mind me possibly inviting my wife and children.

I'm glad that you are proud of me. I'm also glad that William is proud of me. I'm assuming that you and William knew that Henry was coming so he could have his revenge. I'm still dealing with that problem along with another thing.

The truth is Richard I need your help and advice. I have written another letter for you that's for your eyes only. Burn it after you are finished with it I don't want anyone else finding out about my problem, especially William.

Your dear brother
Arthur Wellesley

Wellington gently folds up the letter and puts it in the pile with the rest of the letters. Then he grabs another piece of paper for the final letter which he begins writing.

July 5th 1815

My dear brother

Hello, William of course, you would know about the news about people wanting me to be Prime Minister. But at this point in time, I'm still unsure about my decision.

Also yes I do know about Richard's little dinner party he wants to host. Please do me a favour and make sure he keeps it small. You know that I don't like large parties. I just want it to be family and that's all.

I'm also glad that you and Richard are proud of me. I'm assuming that you knew about Henry coming to my camp to have his vengeance. Because he is honestly causing trouble and well you are probably use to that. But I will sort it out hopefully but not in the way you do.

Also if I do decide to become Prime Minister I will gladly take your political advice. It will come in handy for me.

Your dear brother
Arthur Wellesley

Wellington gently folds up the last letter and gently grabs the rest. Then he gently puts them all in his pocket. Getting up out of his seat and exiting his tent Wellington begins looking around the camp for Corey.

A couple of minutes later Wellington hears a cheerful tune being played on a violin. Then he notices Corey sitting on a nearby stool. Wellington calmly approaches Corey and he starts speaking in a calm and pleasant voice.

Wellington: Good evening Corey.
Corey: Good evening sir.
Wellington: I have 5 letters for you to deliver for me, Corey.
Corey: That's a lot of letters sir.
Wellington: Two are for my brother Richard. One is for my brother William. One is for my friend Horatio Nelson and one is for my wife Kitty.
Corey: I shall head off tomorrow at dawn sir.
Wellington: Excellent Corey.

Wellington carefully grabs the five letters out of his pocket. Corey stops playing his violin and gently grabs them and puts them in his pocket. Corey starts speaking in a cheerful tone.

Corey: Good night sir.
Wellington: Good night Corey and safe travels.
Corey: Yes, I will travel safely and I will return to you as soon as I can.

Wellington calmly begins walking back to his tent. A couple of minutes later he enters his tent and sits at his desk. Grabbing an important paper from the pile he begins carefully reading it.
