I was sleeping in my barracks that night when all the sudden I heard alarms go off. I get up in complete alarm of not knowing what was going on and I get up, get under my bed and grab my weapons and my vest. I bust out of my barracks and see that we were being attacked on each side of our base. I run to our squadron and asked,

"What is happening?"

Brad responds,

"We were attacked on each side of our base when we least expected it. We are completely surrounded. They already took out about 100 of our men. What should we do?"

I respond,

"Well first we need to find the colonel and take him to the safest place we can find far from here and with as much of our soldiers as we can. But we need to find a way out of here as well. Go, go now! Find the colonel and save as much people as you can and get out of here and as far as you can. I will give a you guys cover fire."

Brad says,

"I'm staying with you and fighting by your side. Like I said already, I owe you back for saving my life remember?"

I respond,

"Ok but the rest of you guys must go and save the others."

I give the signal for the other squadron members to go and save the others. Brad and I start firing back at the Russian soldiers as they were firing at us. They were coming in from every direction so I took cover behind a desk next to Brad and we shoot in every direction the Russian soldiers are coming from. The Russian soldiers were getting closer and closer to us and then there was a blast from a grenade. Brad and I fell to the ground. Brad got knocked out but I somehow stayed awake. There was ringing in my ears and blood falling from them. A Russian soldier gets to us and picks me up getting ready to stab me when all of the sudden there was a shot and the Russian soldier falls to the ground blood coming from his head. Their were gunshots going in the Russians direction. I turn around and see my squadron with the colonel and everyone that survived running towards us. They get in cover and start to protect us. Miles gets to me and holds out his hand to help me up. I take his hand, get up, and ask,

"What are you doing here I thought I told you to get out of here once you got the colonel and everyone else."

Miles responds,

"Well it looked like you were in a pretty bad situation so I found the colonel and as many men as I can find that survived and brought them here to help save your life."

I respond,

"Thank you for saving Brad and my life now go and get to cover and take out as many Russian soldiers that you can."

Miles responds,

"Yes sir!"

I grab my gun and start firing back at the Russian soldiers. I ran to Brad and see him knocked out on the ground. I take my water and dump some on him to wake him up. He wakes up and asked,

"What happened?"

I respond,

"A grenade blast nocked you out and we both almost died. Then Miles came and saved us with the colonel and all of the soldiers he could find that survived."

I help Brad up and he says,

"Well thank god for that, if he didn't show up we would've been dead meat." I say,

"Thank you for fighting by my side that really helped me out a lot."

He responds,

"Well you saved my life. I had to return the favor."

He picks up his rifle and starts firing at the Russian soldiers. I get by his side and start firing with him. The Russian soldiers signaled the retreat and they all started retreating we were chasing them and shooting at the enemy soldiers to take out as many of them as we can. They made it back into the woods with less than 100 of there soldiers left when they came with over 500 to 1000 men. We get back to our base and everything was either destroyed or taken. We loot all of the enemy soldiers for ammo and supplies. We are going to find another place to set up base and to stay safe. We take our dead soldiers and started heading to another safe place to set up our new base. We are walking through the forest and we stop at a safe place to make a camp for now to get some rest. We start digging holes to put our dead soldiers in and when we finished we put them in, buried them, made crosses for them, and placed rifles in the ground with helmets on top. We all lay down and go to sleep. The next morning we get up and start heading to a new place where we can make our new base. We finally found a place in the forest with a little open land and were we can hide in the trees to protect our base and make fortifications. We start our base by making the command center, medical tent, training facility, and all the other ones that we need in the middle. After that we start to make the walls and wires for the walls on the outside of all of the fortifications we made on the inside. We also made sniper towers with 50 cals in them to also help watch over the base from Russian soldiers. After everything was done we all thanked each other for saving each others lives and headed towards our new barracks to get some rest. Once I was in my bed I was thinking to my self,

If it wasn't for Miles and all the people that survived from the base, Brad and I would've died. But thanks to him showing up, we did not.

I stop thinking about it and just went to bed to get some rest to get ready for anything that was to come the next day.
