Chapter 8

The demon stepped forward as a few more demons barged into the room.

They were expecting a lot more than just stares.

They thought they would need to fight for the boys, just like they had for Corey and Panuleon.

"What are you waiting for?" The demon spat as he opened his arms in question.

"We surrender," Zachariah said, but he was still tense as his eyes scanned the demons weapons.

The guy who entered first looked around as amusement flashed in his eyes.

He let out the creepiest laugh Oliver has ever heard.

"Angels don't just surrender."

Vinny watched the demons. His glare was a little unnerving to them, but it only made them more eager to capture him.

"Well, we do," Jed said. "We don't want to cause harm to any more innocent people."

The demons, not for one second believed him. They knew they would come after them once the boys were gone.

But a simple steal was something they just couldn't ignore.

"You're a fool for letting us take them but thank you for making our job a lot easier" The demons voice was deep and harsh.

It sent uncomfortable shivers through everyone's spines.

The demons gaze then wandered to the boys once more. He smirked at Oliver's nerves and Vinny's anger.

They were still standing incredibly close, and the more the demons were in their presence, the more they wanted to run for their lives.

The man simply whistled, creating two demons to walk over to them.

Oliver squeezed Vinny tight as they came over but they grabbed their hands and forced them apart.

"No, wait. I need to hold-"

"Shut the hell up" The demon spat and punched him in the stomach.

Oliver doubled over with pain as Vinny brought his head back and head-butted the guy behind him, making him release his grip.

He immediately reached for the other demon and punched him in the face.

Nobody hurts his Oliver.

Everyone's jaw opened in shock, nobody had time to react as the demon who now had a bleeding nose from Vinny's head, stabbed something in his neck, making him collapse to the ground.

"Vinny!" Oliver yelled and tried struggling towards him. "Let go of me!"

Somehow, Vinny was unconscious.

Duke and John were trying to get to the boys aid, but the angels were holding them back.

Oliver was actually making it hard for the demon to hold onto him, so he decided to stab him in the neck too.

He instantly collapsed to the ground.

Whatever he got drugged with was strong stuff.

"No!" John yelled as he tried fighting Jed's grip but he was just too strong.

The other vampires had tried getting to the boys, but the demons were also holding them back.

"What a shame" The demon who was standing at the door said. "I was looking forwards to an interrogation on the journey."

"You Monsters" Madison cried as her eyes became watery.

Oliver and Vinny had now been picked up and were getting carried towards the door.

"Thank you" The demon grinned, knowing fine well that he was angering and upsetting everyone.

"Just wait till we get our hands on you," Duke said through gritted teeth. He wanted to sink his fangs into him and make him bleed to death.

His child and his soulmate were about to be taken, and they didn't know how long for. They didn't know if they would be kept together, what would happen to them or if they would be injured in the process.

The demon let out another evil laugh as he crossed his arms.

"That's cute, but we really must get going" His dark eyes pierced through everyone he looked at and Duke wanted to rip them out.

"You won't get away with this" He growled as the boys were carried out of the room.

"Well... it looks like we already have," The man said with a simple shrug. "Say goodbye to your kids."

His cocky attitude only made it harder for the angels not to end this and kill these demons. But if they did that then more would be sent until the boys were successfully taken.

The demon looked around at the angry Vampires with a proud smirk on his face.

Their angry red glares with their sharp teeth became enough to send some of the demons gazes to the ground.

"Goodbye, Zachariah and Jeduthun. We'll be seeing you soon I'm sure. That's if you can find us."

With one last patronising chuckle, he turned and left with the rest of them.

The room suddenly became silent and still.

Nobody could bring themselves to move. They could feel their anger, worry and nerves circling their bodies and still, they could do nothing about it.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that," Jed said as he still held onto John. "We will give them a head start and then we'll follow them."

Madison at this point had tears streaming down her cheeks as Zachariah let go of her husband so he could comfort her.

"This is not fair" She sobbed. "They're going to get hurt."

Everyone saw how easily the demon hit Oliver, and they knew they were not going to cope, wherever they're travelling to.

"We'll try and get them out of there as quickly as we can," Jed said as Jonn eventually calmed down and stood back from his grip.

"You're our only hope of getting them home," He said glumly.

Of course, the boys parents felt helpless. Their children were carelessly taken from their care, and they were not allowed to do anything about it.

"Where are they going?" A vampire asked.

They knew their job was to comfort John, Duke, and Madison until the boys were returned home.

"To the other world."

John then freaked out.

"You're letting them go all that way!?" He asked as he put his hands on his head. "Are you crazy?"

"John, calm down, we'll get to them," Jed said as he rested a gentle hand on his shoulder. "You need to have faith in us."

"It's just, I need to help" John could feel his sadness growing. "I need to know that my boy is safe."

Jed watched him with nothing to say. What could he say? He couldn't confirm the boys safety, and he couldn't guarantee that the plan will work.

"The other couple consists of an angel and a human with tremendous power. I'm more than sure that Panuleon is doing everything he can to get him and Corey out of there. Once he knows that Vinny and Oliver are there too, he'll do everything he can to help them as well."

It did settle their thoughts to know that an angel will be there at the other end.

But it wasn't enough for the worry to subside.

They wouldn't physically feel okay again until the boys were back home and in their sights once more.

* * * * *

Corey's eyes were red from the number of tears that had fallen. He gazed at his soulmate who was still sitting past their five-meter mark.

The demons had come in twice to attach Panuleon's chains back to the wall. He kept pulling one arm free and so they were monitoring the room more closely now.

"I need water" Corey mumbled. He felt so miserable, tired, hungry and he was hurting from incredible heartache.

The boys had been apart for just over a day and it was killing them.

Panuleon picked up a small rock from the floor and chucked it at the old CCTV camera.

It bounced off the lens.

"Hello?" He yelled. He was aware that his soulmate hadn't had anything to eat or drink since they were taken to this room.

It was dark, dingy and dirty. The walls were concrete and slightly cracked. The corners had mould growing out of them and it felt like they were underground somewhere.

He then started pulling on his chains again, just as the door opened.

"Get him some water" Panuleon demanded as the woman stood with a frown.

"I'm sure he can last another day" She smirked, but Corey was in desperate need of nutrients.

"Please," Corey croaked.

The woman looked him up and down. She didn't want to help him but if she didn't, eventually he would die.

"Pathetic humans" She mumbled before turning and walking out.

Panuleon took his gaze to his soulmate once more.

"You're doing great," He said kindly.

Corey allowed a little smile to appear as he sat up.

"Do you think Zachariah is okay?" He asked.

Zachariah put up one hell of a fight to keep them from getting taken but unfortunately, it wasn't enough.

"I'm sure he's fine," Panuleon said as the door opened again.

The woman walked back in with a big jug of water and some bread, oranges and biscuits.

She slammed the plate down on the floor and put the water just out of his reach.

She gave him a smirk before stamping on his hand.

Corey cried out in pain as Panuleon sat up suddenly, yanking on his chains to get closer.

"Get off him!" He yelled as a roar of thunder echoed in the skies.

The demon was injuring Corey because she knew without Panuleon he would heal like a regular human, which was a lot slower, meaning he would suffer for longer.

Panuleon is an angel of healing and because he's connected to Corey by an unbreakable bond, he can feel his pain through tingling sensations.

Right now, he could feel that Corey was hurting in his chest and now his hand. He could also feel how emotionally run down he was, but he was strong-willed and managed to cope.

"Please," Corey sobbed as he clutched his wrist, trying to pull it out from underneath her boot.

The demon enjoyed watching his pain and it was amusing to her that it caused Panuleon so much distress every time she caused him harm.

Eventually, she lifted her foot and gave him back his hand. She gave the angel a patronising smile before casually walking out like nothing had happened.

Corey rubbed his throbbing knuckles but concentrated on reaching for the jug of water.

"I can't reach it" He sighed and dropped his head onto his hands.

Corey was a small built person and he was much smaller than Panuleon who would've been able to reach it.

He then very carefully reached for it with his feet.

Panuleon watched, praying that he wouldn't knock it over.

Corey managed to move it close enough so he could reach it with his hands. He dragged the jug over and quickly put it to his mouth.

He has never been so thankful to have anything in his whole life. His mouth was so dry and his throat was quite sore.

Relief filled the angel, knowing his soulmate was getting what his body needed.

"When we get out of here, I'm eating so much food," Corey said as he picked up some of the bread.

Panuleon smiled as he continued to watch him.

He loved how he found light out of any situation.

"I'll take you on so many dates"

Corey smiled and slowly crossed his legs.

"Deal," He said quietly and leant his back against the wall.

The boys found comfort in watching each other.

It was unbelievably hard to cope with being so close but yet so far. They would never feel true happiness until they made that physical contact.

But at least they were still in the same room.
