Chapter 50
"Did you hear the news?" Kyran asked Scarlet as they sat in the gloomy dining-room.
Kyran's parents glanced up from their papers, waiting for her response.
"Yes, my brother's a parent" She muttered. "That baby is a freak."
"Now that is enough" Kyran's mother said. They hate Scarlet. "That baby is a relative of yours, why would you say such a thing?"
"It was produced by two males," Scarlet said with a growing glare.
"And?" Kyran's dad questioned. "Good for them. They were given an amazing opportunity and surely you're proud of your brother?"
"No" Scarlet murmured.
Kyran's parents simply shook their heads and proceeded to ignore her.
Scarlet knew they were going to the baby shower tomorrow but if she turned up, Vinny would throw a fit and kick her out.
It's not like she wanted to go, but she hated the thought of Oliver getting all that attention.
She was planning to get her revenge and as Kyran didn't worry too much about it because she has always failed in the past, he didn't care what she did.

Oliver had slept all night because Vinny wouldn't have it any other way.
The baby, on the other hand, was crying a little bit and wanted that close contact, feeding, and to feel the comfort of being in someone's arms.
After being in the womb for so long, he just really wanted cuddles.
Vinny didn't mind, he got enough sleep as Jed was in the room and helped the baby whenever it woke up, just to avoid it crying.
Their parents were also in the room but they slept all night.
Vinny was surprisingly more competent than what they thought he would be.
When Oliver's well-rested eyes opened, the first thing he noticed was that his bump had gone.
But it shouldn't have disappeared that fast.
Everyone who was staying in the room was awake as they were either vampires or angels, so they already noticed the change in him.
Maybe it was the power within?
"Morning" Vinny whispered as Oliver sat up.
He smiled at his vampire but looked down to his now toned belly.
"How did that happen?" He asked noticing that he didn't feel like he went through labour yesterday. "And there's no stretch marks."
"You don't look like you gave birth only twenty-four hours ago" Madison chuckled.
"I actually feel great," Oliver said while standing up and stretching. "I didn't expect to feel this way, but I'm not complaining."
And just like that, Oliver was back to his hyper, energetic and happy self.
To Vinny, he looked rather radiant and full of life.
He spotted Jed holding onto his baby and a rupture of delight spread into his bloodstream.
"Vinny, we have a baby!" He said before quickly walking over.
Jed was in love with the newborn, he loves kids, especially when they're as cute as this one.
"My little Rayvon" Oliver beamed as Jed passed him over. "Did he sleep okay?"
"Yes," Vinny smiled and came over. "Jed was a great help."
The angel smiled at this, he was glad to be of assistance.
"Please remember that I will look after him anytime, day or night."
"Thank you, I really appreciate it" Oliver grinned.
He didn't know that being a parent would feel this rewarding.
He was holding a mini version of him and Vinny.
"Has he even stopped frowning?" He chuckled.
"No," Jed said. "He looks so much like Vinny, but I think he has your eyes."
The colour of his eyes are dark blue but their true colour won't start showing for a couple of months yet. But they were big, just like Oliver's.
"I think so too" Vinny smiled and kissed his soulmates temple.
The baby began to whimper and squirm in Oliver's arms.
"Don't get jealous now," Oliver said, making everyone chuckle.
Vinny kissed the newborn on the head and surprisingly, he settled.
Everyone then sank into a comfortable silence as they thought the boys were going to be great parents and they were going to have so much fun, looking after their son.
"I can't believe I'm holding our baby" Oliver sighed happily.
"One day down, the rest of your lives to go" Duke chuckled.
"It's so weird seeing you without a bump," Vinny said while looking at Oliver's stomach.
"I do feel completely fine but I'm a little concerned that it went so fast. I think I should ask Panuleon to see if everything is okay."
Everyone agreed. Something like this doesn't just happen.
Vinny stood behind him and wrapped his arms around his much smaller waist.
"But, I can start exercising now and lose the baby weight" Oliver chuckled.
Vinny shook his head and rested it on his shoulder.
"Don't be silly, you're perfect."
Oliver turned his head so his nose rested against Vinny's temple.
"You're perfect," He said and kissed his cheek. "But seriously, I need to at least get fit. I've barely moved for the past month. Maybe I should go for a run before I do anything else, wait... does Rayvon need feeding?"
"He had a bottle almost an hour ago, so he should be okay for now," Jed said with a smile. He spent the last nine months researching everything.
"Vinny, why don't you join Oliver on a run? We'll be more than happy to look after Rayvon, he is so adorable" Madison beamed.
"Yes, Vinny join me," Oliver said, almost begging.
"Fine" He mumbled.
He doesn't remember the last time he went for a run but neither does Oliver.
"Great, hand him over," Madison said, making Duke chuckle.
"You'll never get him back mind."
Oliver chuckled but he loved that Madison was so enthusiastic.
"Can I give him his bottle when he next needs it?" John asked and the boys knew they would get all the help they ever needed.
But they didn't want to rely on their parents when things got tough. They wanted to be independent.
"Sure" Oliver smiled, knowing they were just excited to have a baby on the scene.
It'll blow over in a few hundred years when they get sick of the crying and the smelly nappies.
"Enjoy your run boys, we'll look after the little one" Duke grinned.

"I can't go on."
"Oliver we have been running for two minutes," Vinny said as they made their way around the huge Vanderwood gardens.
"I told you I was unfit" He breathed, feeling a cramp rising on his side.
It still felt so strange that he wasn't pregnant anymore.
He then stopped and placed his hands on knees, attempting to get his breath back.
"Okay, let's walk for a minute then jog for two until we get around the full gardens. I'll time it and then we can work on getting faster with-with less stops" Vinny said but frowned at the little blip in his sentence.
Oliver didn't notice it as he nodded.
"Good idea" He breathed as they continued to walk.
They stuck to their plan until they were almost back to the mansion.
"Why are you so good at this? You never exercise" Oliver breathed when they began to walk for a minute.
"I'm a Vampire, I'm good at everything."
Oliver chuckled and shoved him playfully.
"If I squint my eyes, your ego is bigger than your head."
Vinny scoffed and it was his turn to give him a shove.
"Shut your pretty little mouth," He said while pulling him into a headlock.
"Hey!" Oliver laughed as he struggled against the unnatural strength of his soulmate.
"Say you're sorry,"
"Never," Oliver said. They had now stopped walking.
"Say It."
Oliver grinned into Vinny's stomach, but he wasn't giving up.
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"You're hurting me feelings Oliver," Vinny said, clearly joking.
"I don't care."
Vinny then pushed him to the ground but climbed on top of him.
"Well, I do" He whispered.
Oliver bit lightly on his bottom lip, feeling the affection beginning to rise.
They watched each other as Vinny's face got closer, wondering who would be cocky first.
The gardens were very peaceful as the noise of birds twittering in the distance was a very calming sound. The air was fresh and the grass was a vibrant green.
The morning sun wasn't too hot but the sky was clear, giving it a warmer feel.
The boys decided that they wanted a kiss more than the sarcasm, so they connected their lips.
Slowly, Vinny rested his body on top of Oliver and wrapped his arms around the back of his head.
Their lips moved together as their warmth, smell and taste were all their minds could concentrate on.
Oliver missed the feeling of Vinny being on top of him. The vampire couldn't rest on him like this because of his bump but now that it's gone, he's not taking it for granted.
Their kisses were full of love and passion for one another. They felt the pleasure of being this close run through their spines.
Oliver tangled his fingers into Vinny's hair and pulled the kiss a little deeper.
To make out like this in the grass on a lovely spring day was a fantastic start to their morning. And to think that they had a baby to get home to topped it all off.
They couldn't wait to be with him again.
