Chapter 47
Today was the day.
It was almost three in the morning and the only people awake were Jed and Panuleon.
Jed was sitting just down the hall like he usually does and Panuleon was curled into Corey, watching him as he slept.
Corey's baby was due in just over a week so they weren't feeling as nervous as Vinny and Oliver. But they were very excited to meet their child as well as their own.
Just then, Corey moved ever so slightly.
Panuleon felt his back rest more against his chest while he stretched his arms.
The human would wake up often through the night. It was not comfortable sleeping with a bump that size, especially when his body doesn't understand what's happening.
They were both laying on their sides but the angels big body was protecting his soulmates, simply because he could.
Corey began to open his tired eyes.
The first thing he felt was Panuleon, leaning into him.
He lightly smiled at the warmth of his body and how safe he felt in his arms.
"It's very early" Panuleon whispered, wanting him to get more sleep.
Corey slowly rolled onto his back to reveal his angel's beautiful face.
"I know" he whispered and rubbed his eyes. "I'm just uncomfortable."
Panuleon leant down and kissed his forehead and rubbed his swollen belly.
Corey didn't like lying on his back, it was difficult to breathe. He rolled onto his side so his belly pressed up against Panuleon's.
"Try and get more sleep," Panuleon said as he lowered himself down the bed so his face was level with his.
Corey nodded and yawned sleepily which was extremely cute for the angel to see.
He then closed his eyes, getting ready to drift off once more.
Jed was twiddling his thumbs and he was now on standby. The baby could arrive at any minute and it was important for him to be alert.
It had taken Vinny a very long time to fall asleep. He was just so excited and kept waiting like it was going to happen at any second.
He knows that it could happen at any time throughout the day and it might not even happen today, the baby might be a late comer.

Madison and Duke sat at the dining table. it was half seven and John was making sure Oliver had all the things he needed in the first-aid room, just in case he was to go into labour today.
Since they assessed Vinny's speech, they've been treading lightly.
They hadn't talked about it or brought it up because he doesn't need to think about it, not when he has more important things to think about.
Although, it did concern them that it has gotten worse.
Just then, John re-entered the dining room after he was happy that Oliver would have everything he needed.
"All sorted?" Duke asked.
"Yeah," John said as he sat down at the table. "I can't believe how quick it has come around."
The public was ecstatic. They were already hauling up outside the mansion, eagerly waiting for any news.
"I know, it seems like only yesterday they met" Madison chuckled.
"I'm so glad they're getting this opportunity, though. Having kids of your own is a great thing" John said, making everyone nod in agreement. "Even if it's not strictly possible."
Duke then shook his head. He still found himself chuckling at the thought of two pregnant males, living in their home.
He had to admit, he did not think that he would ever witness anything this crazy.
But he's not complaining, life's all about experiencing different things.
And this was certainly different.
Just then, the door opened and in walked his son with an arm wrapped around his soulmate.
Everyone beamed at them, feeling just as happy as Oliver looked.
"Good morning," Madison said.
Nothing has even happened yet but she can barely keep down her excitement.
Aliyah was standing with Jed outside the dining-room. She was going to stay now until the baby was born and then she might stay for a few days after, just to make sure everything is okay.
Jed appreciated the company, especially when he's sitting through the long nights.
"Morning," Oliver said, not looking as tired as he usually does but it would catch up with him soon. He was just excited.
Even Vinny had an oddly calm expression.
His frown was still there of course, but he didn't look as grumpy.
As Oliver got his breakfast, everyone in the room was thinking about the baby. They couldn't wait to meet him or her.
They mostly wondered what the signs would be for him going into labour and what would happen after that.
If the power allowed them to develop babies, maybe it'll somehow allow them to give a natural birth.
Oliver was very nervous about that. He never thought in his life that he'd be carrying a child, let alone thinking about the pains of being in labour.
He didn't know how Vinny would react to him being in pain. He would probably start snapping at people and get a little stressed.
"Just think boys, that crib could be in use by tonight," Madison said.
Vinny and Oliver looked at each other with a wave of excitement and nerves.
They had everything prepared but Duke, Madison, and John were going to stay in the boys bedroom for the first night to give them a helping hand.
They have been so clueless throughout this whole process, especially Vinny.
He had never really thought about babies and he was given a short amount of time to mentally prepare himself.
Oliver had been told by Maliyah that the baby was in the engaged position now which was good news.
"I can't wait to fit into my old clothes again," He said. He was wearing shorts now because they were more comfortable than his trousers, also the weather was getting warmer.
Vinny sat back in his chair and wrapped an arm around his soulmates shoulders.
"Would you like to sit outside after breakfast?"
"Sure" Oliver smiled. Spring was well underway as the pretty garden's were blossoming all kinds of beautiful flowers.
Vinny then subconsciously rubbed Oliver's bump as he finished breakfast.
Over the past week, he had been experiencing Braxton-Hicks contractions. This was simply his uterine muscles flexing and preparing for when they'll really need to do their job on the big day.
It didn't hurt, it just felt strange as the tightening sensation became more frequent and intense as he got closer to the due date.
Sometimes, he wouldn't even acknowledge them and they'd go when he changed position.
As Oliver ate his breakfast, he began to frown.
Vinny watched him as he tried sitting up straighter, but he seemed uncomfortable.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm just getting cramps in my lower back."
Vinny moved his hand down to that area and began rubbing it softly.
Oliver relaxed, enjoying his gentle hand massage, but now the light cramping was around his groin area.
He wondered if this was early signs or not but he knew it could take a very long time for the contractions to really kick in, so it was best not to get worried until he could feel real signs.

Vinny, Oliver, Panuleon, and Corey were sitting in the garden. It was a very lovely day outside with a clear blue sky and a warm sun, shining down at a reasonable temperature.
Vinny had watched Oliver shift uncomfortably on the deck chair for almost half an hour now.
He was gaining his suspicions and wondering if the time was closing in on them.
When Oliver got more comfortable, he stopped and looked at his soulmate.
Vinny had sunglasses on. They were black like the rest of his outfit but he couldn't tell if he was looking at him or not.
Vinny watched as Oliver moved left and right, seeing if his gaze was following him.
"You looked so shifty with those on" Oliver chuckled.
Vinny crossed his arms but showed no change in emotion or moved his gaze away from his soulmate.
Oliver reached forward and pulled them off his face before trying them on.
Vinny squinted at the bright world.
"Panuleon, guess who I'm trying to be," Oliver said as he made his face emotionless and crossed his arms.
Corey chuckled as he glanced at Vinny who also had his arms crossed.
"Strangely like your soulmate" Panuleon smiled.
"Wow, you're good at that" Oliver chuckled.
Vinny rolled his eyes and took his sunglasses back.
He put them back on but proceeded to watch Oliver.
They weren't aware that almost the whole world was on standby, waiting for the arrival of the first child.
This was something very extraordinary and Oliver was going to be the first male to give birth to a child.
His name would go down in history, as well as Corey's.
Duke was aware that a lot of the reporters that were crowding up outside were from different countries.
Oliver suddenly took a breath and stopped what he was doing.
He felt a tight flexing of the muscles but this time, it was a little painful and lasted longer than usual.
Vinny rested a hand on his shoulder, sending warmth through his wrist.
"That felt different," Oliver said, feeling a little giddy at the thought of maybe starting his real contractions.
"Do you think that maybe-" Vinny trailed off, feeling nervous to ask.
"I don't know," Oliver said truthfully. He had no idea what was going on.

Over the next two hours, the boys stayed in the garden as Panuleon counted the times in-between the contractions that Oliver thought he was having.
But to their surprise, he was right.
The contractions were getting closer together and lasting a little longer.
The pain was gradually increasing as Oliver found himself feeling extremely uncomfortable when it happened.
"I think we should get Aliyah," Corey said. He was intrigued by Oliver's progression, knowing he would go through the exact same process.
Panuleon nodded before standing up, he helped Corey up and walked back to the dining-room.
Everyone was now sitting on the couches as Aliyah and Jed were standing by the door.
"Aliyah, can you come for a second" Panuleon asked the angel.
Everyone stopped talking and watched as she followed the boys back outside.
They exchanged glances with each other, wondering if everything was okay.
Vinny was rubbing Oliver's back as a contraction came and lasted for almost a minute and a half.
"Are you alright boys?" She asked.
"I think something's happening," Oliver said.
He could feel Vinny beginning to stress in his mind, but keeping his cool on the surface.
Aliyah calmly knelt down next to him and pulled up his t-shirt.
Everyone watched as she rested two hands on the bottom of his swollen bump.
She closed her eyes and really concentrated on what was happening with the baby.
Vinny's heart was starting to thump in his chest.
Could this be it?
Panuleon held Corey close as they waited patiently.
Aliyah then gasped and opened her eyes.
She looked at Oliver with a twinkle in them and they knew something was definitely changing.
"It's time."
