Chapter 42
1 Month later.
As Oliver woke up for the fifth time that night, he was surprised to see that it was now morning.
he was laid on his side as that was the only sort of comfortable position he could find.
he wasn't facing his soulmate but he could feel he was next to him.
Vinny was awake, as usual. he was also dressed and sitting with a book in his hand, but it was a book that Madison gave him about pregnant people.
He kept getting more and more concerned when Oliver's back started hurting and he sometimes got out of breath. But it was all normal for Oliver to experience this, he just didn't know It.
But since he has been reading this book, he does have a better understanding and stopped asking Aliyah so many questions.
Vinny then saw Oliver's hand move up to his tired eyes. He smiled, feeling happy that he was awake.
"Morning," They both said together.
"I said that first" Vinny said and Oliver could tell by the tone of his voice that he was smiling.
"No, you did not" He mumbled but couldn't be bothered to move. It was so much effort, especially in the mornings.
Vinny watched him for a little longer before he put his book down.
"How're you feeling?" He asked while moving in close and hugging him.
Oliver felt him rest a hand on his big bump as he started kissing his neck.
Vinny rubbed gently on Oliver's swollen belly, knowing he liked the massage.
"Good thanks," He said and closed his eyes again. "How're you doing?"
"Great," Vinny said softly. He rested his head on Oliver's soft hair.
"Is it because I'm awake?" Oliver mumbled. Even when he's tired he can still find the sarcasm from somewhere.
Vinny silently rolled his eyes but he was amused.
"Yes," He simply sighed, enjoying the slight movements of his baby.
Oliver then rolled over onto his back so he could see Vinny's beautiful chocolate brown eyes.
He lifted a hand and rested it gently on the vampire's cheek.
"If the baby looks anything like you, it's soulmate will be so lucky."
Vinny cherished the feel of Oliver's thumb rubbing up and down his cheek.
"If it doesn't have your eyes, I'm abandoning it."
Oliver's eyebrows raised before he burst into laughter.
"Vinny, you can't say that!" He laughed.
"I'm joking, of course," Vinny grinned. He would love the baby no matter what it looked like and they both knew that.
"You're such a loser" Oliver muttered before yawning.
Vinny shook his head but leaned in for a kiss which Oliver gratefully took.
Vinny kissed him with passion and love but Oliver was in a playful mood and pushed him away.
"What're we doing today?" He asked, knowing that Vinny was coming back in for another kiss.
"Shopping," He said before pressing his lips to his. "For the baby."
"Was that Madison's idea?" He asked.
Vinny nodded while giving him a soft smile.
"It'll be nice to get our own decision, though."
Madison was very picky about what they should buy until Duke stepped in to remind her that it was their baby, not hers.
"It will" Oliver smiled before struggling to sit up. He gently leant his back against the headboard.
He was now twenty-seven weeks pregnant and has around two and a half months left of his pregnancy.
Things for them have moved incredibly quick and this whole process still feels really weird.
Vinny often found himself just staring at Oliver's bump, not quite believing that this was happening.
At first, it felt so unrealistic and so crazy.
But now that the time was getting closer for Oliver to have his baby, it was very, very real.
He let out a long and happy sigh as he subconsciously smiled at his squirming baby kicks.
"I should probably get up," He said but the thought made him yawn once more.
"If you're still tired, you don't have to get up," Vinny said.
"It's fine, I'll catch up on sleep later," Oliver smiled before climbing out of bed.
Vinny's eyes followed his soulmate who wondered into the walk-in wardrobe for some clothes.
Almost every morning he would wake up feeling excited.
He was maybe looking forwards to a baby more than what he was putting on, Oliver could feel his excitement but his parents couldn't.
They thought he was just being very chilled about it.
But the truth is, he is almost counting down the days, so was Oliver.
They couldn't wait to be parents.
They didn't think they were ready in the beginning but as time went by, they knew this happened for a reason and they are more than ready.
With the help of their parents, they could definitely bring up a child together.

"I don't want to walk," Corey said as he leant his forehead against Panuleon's chest.
"You have to get the light exercise, It'll be good for you," Panuleon said as he lifted his soulmates head. "I know your back is hurting today but it's not that far."
"I know, I'm just being grumpy" Corey smiled as they waited for the car with everyone in it to arrive.
Panuleon flew to the shopping centre with Corey because there wasn't enough room for them in the car. He hates travelling in vehicles anyway so it wasn't a problem.
"Let's go sit down while we wait."
The public had obviously spotted the couple as a pregnant male was pretty hard to miss. They knew who Corey and Panuleon were and they got just as excited to see them as they do when they see the Vanderwood's.
Also, everyone has been following the progress of the babies.
"Why are people taking pictures of us?" Panuleon asked as he sat down next to his soulmate.
"I don't know" Corey shrugged but they were warned by John that this would happen. The publicity they would now receive is so foreign to the angel and the human.
"This world is quite strange," Panuleon said as he rubbed Corey's lower back, trying to ease off some of the pain.
He wasn't allowed to use his healing powers, Aliyah didn't want anything to happen to the baby.
She was concerned that because the baby isn't supposed to be in a male's body, his powers might reject the change and they didn't want to take the risk.
"Yeah, but I like it."
Panuleon smiled down at him. They have fallen in love with the demon-free world.
"I'm so glad we get to raise a child in this world. We are very fortunate people."
"We are" Corey said before tugging on Panuleon's hoody strings, getting him to lower his head so he could reach his lips.
The weather today was cold and miserable. The clouds were grey and gloomy as it was a little icy on top of the snow.
Madison was able to get custom made down jackets that fit perfectly to the boys growing bumps. Corey does get really cold easily but he was wrapped up warm this morning and prepared for anything.
Except walking.
As Panuleon decided that one kiss wasn't enough and continued to steal another one, the Vanderwood's car pulled up outside the bench.
Oliver rolled down the window and whistled at the affectionate couple.
Panuleon pulled away to see them all staring with big grins, apart from Vinny.
"Don't stop on our account" Oliver chuckled, seeing Panuleon's cheeks going red.
Corey beamed, loving how innocent his angel can be.
"You're so cute," He said loudly, causing his cheeks to darken.
Everyone chuckled before getting out of the car.
Vinny would be holding Oliver very tight today. He didn't want him to slip on the ice and hurt himself or the baby.
"Okay my love, I know you've been researching the best baby stores so we'll follow you" Duke smiled while taking his wife's hand.
When they had their children, it was thousands and thousands of years ago so they didn't have things like this when they were bringing them up.
Which made Madison all the more excited to shop.
It's safe to say that they have built themselves up in the world.
As they made their way through the shopping centre, the public was practically fainting with excitement. Nobody has seen the boys since Oliver was around four months pregnant and his bump was barely even showing.
Now, you couldn't miss it.
Aliyah said that it was bigger than what most people's bumps were at this stage but she reassured him that it was definitely one baby in his belly and there was nothing for him to worry about.
His baby is just big.
Madison stopped outside a shop that was called 'Mother Care'.
"Okay, I've been looking at this shop online and they do the cutest things but we're looking for a bedside crib first."
She then turned and headed into the shop but Vinny and Oliver glanced at each other.
"Do you know what that looks like?" Vinny asked.
"I have no idea," Oliver said but they both smiled and took each other's hand.
This was all part of the fun.
Everyone followed Madison into the shop as the staff stopped and stared with surprise.
As she and Duke went to ask where everything was, the couples looked around.
The shop was filled from head to toe with everything you would ever need for a child.
There were cots, bottles, heaps of baby clothes, toys, nursery furniture, pushchairs and so much more.
"We're never getting her out of here are we?" Oliver asked, referring to Madison.
As Vinny's eyes traced over shoes that were unbelievably small he returned his attention back to his soulmate.
"No. We may as well say our goodbye's now" Vinny said as he wrapped an arm around him.
"Bye Madison, it was nice knowing you," Oliver said, making them both chuckle.
"Boys" She shouted, snapping them out of their own little world. "This way."
They reluctantly followed, waiting for her to give them some idea of what they actually need to buy.
Corey and Panuleon had a vague idea but they have been looking into it more and more with each passing week.
* * * * *
Three hours later.
The Vanderwood's had bought almost everything they needed, from car seats to newborn baby clothes, cots for the nurseries, pushchairs, bathing and changing accessories and toys.
Oliver and Corey were feelings pretty wiped out as they sat on chairs that the staff had very kindly brought over for them.
They were watching Vinny and Panuleon trying to figure out how to fold a buggy.
Madison and Duke were looking at sterilizing sets for the bottles.
"It's warm in here," Oliver said as he unzipped his jacket.
"It is," Corey said as he did the same. "I don't know if I like shopping."
"Not when all I want to do is sleep" Oliver chuckled. He's usually the energetic one but not when his ankles hurt and his lower back hurts and he's a little sleep deprived.
But other than that, he's actually doing okay.
Just then, the baby kicked him in the side of his stomach.
"Yes I know, I'm hungry too" He chuckled before rubbing his bump.
"Did the baby kick? It's kicking me right now" Corey said as he rubbed the side that was closest to Oliver.
"Yeah, but it's going a little crazy" Oliver chuckled as he also rubbed the side that was closest to Corey.
"You don't think that they can feel each other do you?" Corey asked. "If they're going to be soulmates."
Oliver looked between his bump and Corey's bump, wondering if that might be true.
"This might be a bit weird, but let me just-" Oliver then moved so the side of his bump touched Corey's.
Almost immediately the two babies started kicking, but at the same time like they were trying to feel each other.
Oliver and Corey looked at one another with raised eyebrows.
"Their bond will be like nothing we've ever seen before," Oliver said as he could actually feel Corey's baby pushing against the side of his belly.
"This is amazing" Corey smiled.
A few moments went by until the kicking died down and Oliver sat back in his seat.
"I'm so excited to meet them."
Corey grinned while he turned his gaze back to Panuleon.
"It's not long now."
