"I can't believe he slapped you," Kyran said to Scarlet as he sat on the couch next to her.

They were in the dining room but nobody wanted to socialise with them so they went to find other things to do.

"I'm going to make him suffer for that" Scarlet said as she clenched her jaw.

"Just remember that he's pregnant, as horrible as that sounds" Kyran frowned. "But Vinny would probably kill you if you harmed the baby."

"What's the other one called? The small one" Scarlet asked, ignoring her husband.

"Um, Corey I think," Kyran said as he watched the ideas click through her mind.

"He's an easy target."

"What, because he's small?"

"Yeah, he won't be able to hurt me" Scarlet smirked but they were unaware that Panuleon was an angel and would break their limbs with the clutch of a fist if they touched his soulmate.

"You're so mean you know" Kyran sighed before leaning back against the couch.

Scarlet tilted her head but gave him a big grin, which Kyran found himself copying.

"But seriously, what are we doing here? You said it yourself that you don't care if your parents hate you so why are you sucking up to them again?" He asked.

"Because I wanted to mess with Oliver. He ruined everything and I want him to pay for what he did."

"Yeah but, don't you think it's a little unfair on his behalf?"

Scarlet lifted a hand and smacked her husband on the side of the head.

"Don't you dare take his side" She snapped, making him roll his eyes.

"I'm not, I'm just not seeing why you hate him with so much passion" He chuckled.

"Vinny deserved better. He deserved a vampire and he deserved a female. Now come on, let's go find Corey."

"No, it has my name on it," Oliver said as he pretended to protect his tub of ice cream.

"But Oliver please, think of the baby" Corey chuckled as he sat on the stool next to him. "Wait, it actually has your name on it" He laughed.

Oliver grinned but released the ice cream and grabbed him a spoon.

"Yes, but I'm just being greedy. Have as much as you want."

"Thank you," Corey smiled as Panuleon sat next to him with a grin.

Vinny just watched Oliver.

He still felt happy from feeling the baby kick and he couldn't wait to meet it.

"I hope it's okay for me to ask and please tell me if I'm being too intrusive, but who were those people?" Panuleon asked.

"It's fine Panuleon," Vinny said with barely a detective smile as he crossed his arms. "It was my sister Scarlet and her husband Kyran."

"Are you not on good terms?" The angel asked.

"No," Vinny said as he glanced at his soulmate. "When Oliver and I connected the bond, she didn't like that I had a human soulmate and tried her best to prove that he didn't belong in this family by hurting him. She has done things to Oliver that are very unforgivable."

"She doesn't like humans in Vampire families?" Corey asked.

"No" Vinny sighed, hoping she would leave soon.

"Is that why she wanted to apologise? For hurting you?" He asked.

"Yeah, but I wouldn't call that an apology" Oliver chuckled. He has gotten over it. Her mouth is full of crap and he was silly to let it affect him.

"What about Kyran?" Corey asked.

"Just ignore him. He's like her little pet" Vinny muttered.

"What did she do to-"

Just then, the door flung open and smacked against the wall, making Corey jump. He subconsciously grabbed Panuleon's arm as everyone turned.

Vinny sighed and rolled his eyes when he saw his sister and Kyran strutting in.

The kitchen staff who were making the Vanderwood's their dinner edged away from them, not liking the atmosphere that she brings with her.

Kyran avoided Vinny's gaze.

When Scarlet talked to Oliver in the corridor, Vinny had glared at him that whole time until he decided to check on his soulmate and it was incredibly intimidating.

"You're Corey right?" Scarlet said, taking everyone by surprise as she looked down to the human. Vinny and Oliver expected more conflict but aimed at them.

"Yes," Corey said quietly. Now that he knew this vampire was capable of hurting people simply because she didn't like them, it made him feel a bit scared.

"You're really small," She said while crossing her arms.

Corey blinked at her. What a way to point out the obvious.

"I know," He said with a little smile, fully aware of his size.

"It's weird."

Vinny deepened his frown. This is what he was waiting for but if she starts tearing into Corey then they don't stand a chance against Panuleon.

They were either risking it or they didn't know he was an angel.

"I bet you're really weak too," She said as Panuleon eyed her suspiciously.

"Uh..." Corey glanced at Vinny, she says some of the strangest things.

Everyone could see that she was finding any excuse to be mean to him.

"Do you get picked on for being small?" She asked as Kyran looked Panuleon up and down.

"No," Corey said with a nervous chuckle.

"Well, you should. How unfortunate is that, being a midget and gay" She snorted. "You're a freak."

This is when Panuleon slowly stood up from his stool.

The atmosphere around him was so calm and collected, but in his eyes showed a fierce storm.

"I do not appreciate you talking about my husband in that way."

This is when Scarlet and Kyran sniggered.

"Oh you're married, that makes me sick."

Vinny and Oliver were angry and wanted to defend their friends but they knew Panuleon had this under control.

"Why are you behaving this way, we have done nothing to upset you," Panuleon said. He was attempting to remain calm.

"Because your husband is a faggot and we thought you should wake up and see that," Scarlet said confidently.

Panuleon didn't know what that was but he knew she used it with mean intentions.

"Watch your mouth, Vampire," He said through gritted teeth.

Scarlet scoffed, who does he think he is?

"And what are you gonna do about it?"

Panuleon didn't want to argue, it would be easier for them to just walk away.

He rested a hand on Corey's shoulder.

"Come on, let's go."

Corey stood up, agreeing to just walk out, he didn't like conflict.

But Scarlet wasn't done with them yet.

"Look at this size difference" She smirked and stood in their way so they couldn't leave.

Vinny felt embarrassed that his sister was such a bully.

"Move," Panuleon said as he took Corey's hand.

"Make me," Scarlet said while crossing her arms.

"You're not a child," Panuleon muttered, feeling ready to show her who's really the strongest.

"And you can't hurt me."

Corey could hear Panuleon's thoughts and he agreed it would be good to show her who he really is.

"Don't push your luck, now please move out of our way."

"No," Scarlet said as she eyed Corey's bump.

When Panuleon saw her hand dart in his direction, he grabbed it, making her gasp.

Kyran immediately stepped forwards and shoved Panuleon away. Although, the Angel didn't move an inch.

He grabbed Kyran's neck, making him freeze from how strong his grip was.

Panuleon stood tall as his magnificent wings approached his back.

a low grumble of thunder ruptured through the skies.

The couple gawped at his wings, not expecting that.

Scarlet didn't dare do anything. He was holding her husbands neck and she knew he could kill him in an instant.

"If you even think about touching Corey it'll be the last thing you ever do" He growled. "Now get out of this kitchen."

The couple didn't think twice about doing what he said. So without another word Panuleon released the vampire before they turned and walked out.

Vinny raised his eyebrows, finally, there's someone who can shut her up.

Corey tugged on his angel's t-shirt, getting him to make eye contact.

Panuleon looked down to his soulmate and ruffled his hair.

"Hopefully, that scared her off for a while" He chuckled before sitting back on his stool.

Corey sat back down too, he looked completely unfazed by what she said to him.

"Are you two okay?" Oliver asked, just making sure. Scarlet had a tendency to leave a trail of chaos and depressed emotions wherever she went.

"yeah. When you've dealt with demons for so long that barely scratches the surface" Corey chuckled.

"I suppose, but she's just really... I don't know. It's like she's incapable of saying nice things" Oliver said, making Vinny nod in agreement.

"I have no idea how we're related" He sighed.

"You're grumpy and angry and very emotionless," Corey said. "She's all of that but really cruel, you're actually quite nice."

Panuleon held back a chuckle as he shook his head in amusement.

"Did you hear that? Someone called you nice" Oliver beamed, making Vinny roll his eyes.

"Thank you Corey" He grumbled but they knew it was true.

Vinny isn't cruel.

Corey grinned, knowing they were just scraping the friend zone with Vinny. He's a tough person to get on with and it's hard to know what he's thinking, but they're getting there.

"Ah Scarlet, there you are," Duke said as he passed her and Kyran in the hallways.

After avoiding her for most of the afternoon, Jed had come to speak to him about what she said to Oliver.

Duke was surprised that after all this time, she's still trying to get in his head and tell him he's not good enough when clearly, he is. He has been great to this family and especially to their son.

He did miss his daughter but it was clear that the person who she used to be has gone and her ego is too big for her personality.

"I want you to leave," He said while crossing his arms. It hurt for him to say this but Oliver doesn't need the stress and the worry of having her around, especially when he's pregnant and getting more and more vulnerable as the months go on.

Scarlet was actually surprised to hear this.

"Why?" She questioned.

Not only did Jed come and speak to Duke about her, even some of the staff had bravely made their complaints and if that wasn't enough for him to kick her out, then he didn't know what was.

"Because you're still being horrible to Oliver."

"No, I'm not. I didn't even-"

"Yes you did" Duke interrupted. "You can deny it all you like but I know what you said to him and I won't tolerate it in this home. Oliver is Vinny's husband and he's carrying his child for Christ sake. In our eyes, he is a member of our family, just like you."

Scarlet wanted to argue her case. She wanted to convince her dad that Oliver didn't belong here, not in a vampires world.

"Vinny deserves better. He deserves a female Vampire."

Duke shook his head. He didn't raise his daughter to think like this.

"Your brother is gay whether you like it or not. He's into men and he loves Oliver. If you can't accept that then shame on you. Now leave, I don't want to see you until you've grown the hell up" Duke said before turning and walking in the opposite direction.

Her visit was pointless. She came and achieved nothing.

She tried to hurt peoples feelings but barely even caused a tear. Kyran was fed up of being here and he was still a little stunned from Panuleon being an angel. He wanted to go home so he could let Scarlet rant somewhere that didn't involve him.

"Come on, I'm sure you can come back in a few hundred years and pick on people less able than you" Kyran sighed and gripped her arm. He started pulling her down the corridor before she had a chance to shout at him.

And just like that, they left.

Yes their journey was wasted and Scarlet had failed at what she came to achieve. This happens every time.

She comes with hopes of changing her brother but this is who he is and now he's starting his own little family that doesn't include her.

But she couldn't care less.

If he doesn't think of her as a sister, then he's not her brother.

Kyran wanted her to stop making such a big effort to ruin his life but of course, that won't be the last time Scarlet tries.

She simply doesn't know when to stop.
