Chapter 28
When Vinny opened the door to the dining room, he stepped out with Oliver holding tightly onto his hand.
The corridor was empty as it was only seven in the morning and the staff hadn't arrived yet.
"Wow," Corey said as he looked left and right down the different passageways.
The hallways were just as grand as the dining room, with high ceilings, marble floors with a rug that followed the corridor. There were ornaments and huge paintings all over the walls. Chandeliers followed the hallways too.
"This is seriously your home?"
Vinny and Oliver nodded. It was amusing to them for someone who had never been here to be shown around.
"It's fit for the queen" Corey chuckled. But it truly was.
"Queen?" Oliver questioned as he gave him an unusual look.
"You've never heard of a queen?" Corey asked as they walked through the corridor.
"No" Oliver shrugged.
But in this world, no vampire had higher authority than the other. All Vampires were equal, they just have the higher authority over humans. So there were no such thing as kings or queens.
"That is so strange" Corey chuckled.
Clearly, there was much more for him to learn about this world.
"What is a queen?" Oliver asked as they headed up the stairs.
As they started talking, Panuleon looked around.
He had already lost his sense of direction but he could fly into the dining room, now that he knows what it looks like.
"Your home is incredible," He said to Vinny.
Vinny has lived here for so long, he sometimes takes it for granted.
"Thank you" He replied as he found himself noticing the things he would usually ignore.
"The queen of England" Oliver repeated after Corey had told him what one was. "This is England, but we have no queen."
Corey nodded.
"What city are we in?" He asked.
"The Vanderwood city."
"Oh, you call it by what family owns it?"
"Yes, what was your city called that you used to live in?" Oliver asked.
"London," Corey replied.
"That's a strange name for a city" Oliver chuckled.
"No, it's not" Corey also chuckled.
Panuleon smiled.
Hearing his soulmate laugh never failed to brighten his heart.
"Wait, is that you and Vinny?" Corey questioned as they stopped walking.
Everyone looked towards a painting of Vinny and Oliver.
For many years, it was just Vinny and he always hated it, but when a new one was painted with the both of them, he couldn't help but feel proud every time he saw it.
"Yes," Oliver said as he looked at Vinny with a grin.
Vinny rolled his eyes and carried on walking down the corridor. The bedroom was only down the hall.
Panuleon watched as he opened a big wooden door and disappeared inside.
"He's desperate to change" Oliver chuckled as he also followed his soulmate.
Panuleon looked down to Corey with a big smile.
"Can you believe this is where we're going to live?"
"I can't," Corey said as he took another detailed look at his surroundings before following Oliver.
When Oliver stepped into the bedroom, he felt so happy.
Everything was just perfect.
He didn't miss what he had until it was taken away from him.
He walked immediately over to the bed and landed face down on top of the covers, just as the other couple walked in.
Corey again was baffled.
The room was huge with a massive poster bed leaning in the middle of the back wall. There were tall windows on either side of the bed with heavy looking curtains, effortlessly draping down to the floor. It had a big chandelier with a door to a walk-in wardrobe at one side and a door to a bathroom on the other.
Corey thought it looked a lot like a Vampires room but he didn't want to keep stereotyping Vinny.
"This is, amazing," He breathed as Vinny came out of the walk-in wardrobe with clothes for him and Oliver.
He glanced around and saw his soulmate, still lying face down on the bed.
He smiled and walked over to him.
He slid one arm under his chest and effortlessly picked him up.
Oliver just allowed it to happen, he couldn't be bothered to do anything other than taking a shower.
"Make yourself comfortable, you can use the shower when we're done," Vinny said, making the other couple nod.
They watched as he carried Oliver into the bathroom and shut the door behind him.
Oliver decided to use his own legs and start undressing.
They both couldn't wait to take off their dirty clothes.
Vinny couldn't take his gaze away from his soulmate. To be in this situation was very relaxing.
Oliver could feel his eyes on him as he undressed and he couldn't hold back a cute smile.
They both threw their clothes in the washing basket and headed towards the shower.
Vinny let Oliver enter first before shutting the glass doors behind him.
The water automatically turned on.
And it was warm.
Oliver sighed happily and stood under it. Vinny watched as the water flowed through his hair and down his body.
He then stood forwards so he was under the water too and wrapped his arms around him.
"I definitely missed this," He said before grabbing a bottle of shampoo.
"Me too," Oliver said as his hair covered his eyes.
Vinny massaged the shampoo into his soulmate's hair as he felt his body lean into his.
Oliver blindly reached for some shampoo too. He knew he got some when Vinny didn't take it from him. He squeezed some on his hand and reached for Vinny's hair.
He let Oliver wash him as he was glad to be under some fresh water.
They both continued to wash each other, enjoying just doing normal things.
Of course, they weren't shy about touching certain places.
When they were done, Oliver cuddled into his vampire.
Vinny wrapped his arms around him and let the water flow over them both.
Their minds were drifting to that important news. But they were waiting until they had proper time to discuss it.
"I feel so clean," Oliver said as he lifted his head. "I still need to shave, though."
Vinny examined his face and nodded.
"Come on then, we shouldn't leave them waiting."
They both knew that Corey would be very eager to shower.
They then stepped out, making the water automatically switch off.
Vinny grabbed two towels and wrapped his own around his waist.
Oliver did the same but sat on a stool as he watched his soulmate walk over to the cupboard and pull out the things he needed.
His eyes traced over his body, enjoying what he was seeing.
* * * * *
Corey and Panuleon were sitting on the edge of their bed, talking about their new life.
"I can't wait to explore," Corey said referring to the mansion.
Panuleon smiled and wrapped and arm around his waist.
"They've been so kind to us."
"I know, I'm really grateful," Corey said. "Do you think they have a pool room?"
Panuleon chuckled at his random questions.
"Probably. But focus on your shower first."
The thought of warm water was calming Corey's mind.
Just then, the door opened and Oliver and Vinny walked out, looking very fresh and clean.
"I'm never growing a beard," Oliver said as he ran his hands down his bare cheeks.
Vinny chuckled to himself as he watched the other couple stand up.
"There's fresh towels for you. Panuleon, I wasn't sure if you showered or not but there's one for you too. And you can use anything that's in there" Oliver said, feeling much happier now that he was smelling nice with fresh clothes on.
"Okay, thank you very much" Panuleon smiled as he followed Corey into the bathroom.
When they shut the door, Vinny turned to his soulmate.
"Angels are so polite."
"You think that because you're not" Oliver joked as he flopped down onto the bed.
Vinny's eyes grew playful. He knew Oliver was returning to his normal self now that he was joking around.
"Funny" He grumbled but his expression remained blank.
Oliver laughed and patted the spot next to him.
Vinny walked over and sat as close as he could get. He then put an arm around him and somehow pulled him even closer.
They both took a moment to take in their familiar surroundings.
They loved this room and couldn't wait to sleep in their own bed tonight.
As the silence became more comfortable, their minds started to drift.
It didn't take long until it landed on the thing they've been waiting to think about.
Their child.
Oliver looked down to his stomach. He couldn't imagine that a child was beginning to develop in there but when Aliyah somehow made them believe, it was hard not to.
They heard its heartbeat and felt it's presence.
Vinny turned his head and saw his soulmate looking at it.
He watched his beautiful green eye's for a few seconds longer, but he finally felt ready to talk about it.
"We're having a baby."
Oliver turned to him and those words sounded so foreign.
"It's so hard to process," He said truthfully. "I mean, this will change our lives forever."
Vinny nodded as he took his hand.
"I know. It's hard to believe because it's still classed as impossible."
"But it's a child. Our child" Oliver still couldn't wrap his head around it. "I know nothing about babies."
"Me neither but we can learn. Well, I guess we have no choice."
"I didn't think we would even consider having kids until we were older."
Vinny's mind then began to change when he thought about the situation. He started seeing it in a more positive light.
"We would never have had an opportunity to have a child of our very own. It'll be our flesh and blood, nobody else's and honestly, that's amazing."
Oliver then began to see it in the same way.
"Yeah I guess, even though it's a huge shock and still weird to even think about, it is a miracle and we are quite blessed to have this opportunity. I just wish it was later on in our lives and when we felt ready" Oliver said.
"I know, but Jed said this wouldn't be happening now if we weren't ready for it. Maybe we'll adapt to it quickly or something" Vinny was trying to convince himself that he will enjoy this life-changing news in the long run.
Oliver rubbed his eyes and sank further into Vinny.
"I'm beginning to feel better about this now."
"Me too. But we still have to tell our parents" That was the part Vinny was dreading and he really didn't know how they'd react.
"Sooner rather than later," Oliver said with a little chuckle. He would rather they didn't find out because he had started showing or craving some weird stuff.
Either way, he would rather they knew so they could help them both through it.
A little extra support would definitely be needed.
They were getting thrown right in the deep end and knew nothing about parenting.
"Yes, maybe we should tell them when Corey and Panuleon finish their shower?" Vinny suggested.
They almost forgot that he was carrying a child too.
Oliver took a breath to stop his nerves from piling up.
"Okay," He said before resting his head on Vinny's shoulder. "Good idea."
They then settled back into comfortable silence and let their minds really adventure over the subject.
If they allowed themselves to think about it, they might just start liking the idea.
