Chapter 21
Vinny was staring into space and Oliver was staring at him.
Panuleon and Corey were sitting at the end of the bed, talking about what commitments of having a child would include.
As Jed predicted, they were excited. But also nervous. They thought they would never get the chance to be parents. They couldn't adopt as nobody could know about their long lifeline.
But now, they've been given this wonderful gift and was going to treasure every moment.
Vinny, on the other hand, was finding it harder to accept.
Having children is something neither of them has thought about. Yes, they're twenty but still relatively young. They did have an opportunity to adopt as they could turn the child into a Vampire so it shares their lifeline.
But they now have a magnificent chance to have a child of their own flesh and blood.
That was exciting but also very, very scary.
It felt like it was happening too quickly.
"How are we going to tell our parents?" He then asked.
Oliver raised his eyebrows as he remembered that this was something they could definitely not hide from them.
"We'll get Jed to do it," He said.
"No," Jed said without even looking up from what he was doing.
Oliver chuckled as Vinny almost cracked a smile.
"I don't know how they'll react."
Oliver could see the slight concern in his eyes so he moved over and sank into his side.
"It doesn't matter what they think. It's not like we can help it. We didn't choose this."
Vinny put an arm around his shoulder and planted a kiss onto his temple.
"I know but my mums going to freak out."
Oliver smiled at the thought. Madison will be so excited... he hoped.
He ran a hand through his hair.
"Vinny," He said but his Vampire was already staring at him. "I don't think I'm ready."
Vinny leant his head forwards and rested it against Oliver's.
"Me neither" He whispered. "It's a huge responsibility, but we'll get through it. We have to."
They then pulled each other into a tight embrace, cherishing the comfort.
After Oliver asked Aliyah how a male would give birth, he and Corey asked so many questions. Like how did they get pregnant at the same time?
It turned out that Oliver was almost seven weeks pregnant and Corey was just over six.
They didn't know how Aliyah could know that, but she was a midwife in heaven so it was best not to question it.
That made Oliver realise that his morning sickness and overall queasy feelings would start coming. He was not looking forwards to that.
Corey would also have to accept the morning sickness instead of letting Panuleon heal him as morning sickness was only helping the baby to stay healthy by getting rid of any harmful toxins in the body.
But at least he had someone who was going through the same thing.
Apparently having a c-section was the best thing for when they give birth. How else was it supposed to come out? Surely not the back.
Also, they know that because they're male, they don't have the right things in their body to become pregnant.
According to Aliyah, their insides have made a temporary change to grow a child.
But it's weird that they didn't feel anything.
The couples hadn't talked about it with each other but they knew they'd be spending a lot of time together considering that their children will be soulmates.
"Oliver" Corey then said as he turned around. Oliver pulled away from Vinny and gave him a smile. "Have you had any symptoms yet?"
It felt incredibly strange talking about it out loud.
"Uh, I felt a little sick this morning but that's about it. I think if I felt anything else, I would've just brushed it off." Oliver said with a shrug. "Have you?"
"No. I don't think I'll be able to let it sink in until I get symptoms, though."
"Yeah, me neither."
The couples knew they would have to talk about their future as they can't live in separate worlds if their kids are going to be soulmates.
But Corey and Panuleon wanted to visit their world anyway so who knows, they might end up staying.
"This is just too crazy," Oliver said as he rubbed his eyes. "I don't want to think about it anymore."
Vinny rubbed hid back as Jed and Zachariah came over.
"Okay, so we have a plan."
The boys turned to them as more dangerous things were getting thrown their way.
"In order to win this war, we need to kill the demon leader. And then, we need to get the demons to close up the tear in the fabrics between the two worlds, but only when we are in the right world. Panuleon and Corey, have you thought about which world you would like to stay in?" Zachariah asked.
Corey looked up to his angel and they both knew what they should choose, it was just a huge change.
"I know it will be very hard to decide, but if you choose to come to our world, you can stay with us," Vinny said.
Oliver was surprised he suggested it but Vinny is a very reasonable person and will help in desperate times.
Panuleon looked at the vampire as his and Corey's thoughts were filling up his mind.
"Are you sure, we wouldn't want to intrude."
"Of course, there's plenty of room for you both."
Vinny wanted to say that there was enough room to raise a child as well, but it sounded too strange to say.
But they knew what he meant.
"Yeah, It took me a few years until I stopped getting lost in that house" Oliver chuckled.
Corey smiled and watched his angels expression.
"What do you think?" He asked.
Its not not like they had anyone to leave behind in this world, but it's what they call home.
"I think, we should go for it" Panuleon said truthfully. "I think it's the right choice. Also, there will be no demons in their world."
Corey nodded, agreeing.
"Okay" He said before pulling Panuleon's head down so he could kiss him.
"So, is that the decision made?" Zachariah asked.
The boys turned to him and nodded together.
"We'll go to their world" Corey said as he felt Panuleon's arms wrap around him.
Jed smiled, knowing Madison, Duke, and John wouldn't mind the extra company.
He was also eager to see their reactions about the boys news.
"Okay" Zachariah smiled. He would have to talk to his soulmate to see if she wouldn't mind moving. They would probably find a small house close by to their mansion so he could still do his duty and look after the boys.
He was starting to miss his soulmate.
Jed also knew he would be staying on earth, even when the war ends. There's no way he could leave the Vanderwood family. They were too special for him to just ditch.
"So, we're planning to all go to the demons hideout together. It's too risky leaving you here."
The boys nodded.
They wished it would just be over and done with already, but there's still a lot for them to do.
"When will we go?" Panuleon asked.
"Whenever you're all ready. But please, take your time" Zachariah smiled.
Corey sank into Panuleon, knowing they had a little more time to relax. But they'd have to make a move soon.
Oliver fiddled with Vinny's waistcoat buttons as Jed sat in front of them on the bed.
"Are you both doing okay?" He asked.
They hesitated. They had just been told that the impossible was going to happen and it wasn't sinking in.
"I don't think I am" Oliver said truthfully. "I'm trying not to think about it, but it's not going to go away if I just ignore it."
Jed nodded. He too would be very overwhelmed if he got loaded with such big news.
"You have every right to feel like that. I would think there was something wrong if you were just okay with it. But I am here to help, and be called uncle Jed."
This even caused Vinny to smile as Oliver sat forwards and hugged the Angel.
Jed hugged back, feeling grateful to have found friends like them.
"Thank you" Oliver mumbled.
He knew that Jed would offer all of his time an energy to them if they really needed it.
"You're welcome" He said as Oliver pulled away and rested back into Vinny. "But I'm still trying to get my head around it so I can't even imagine how you both must be feeling."
"I don't even know" Vinny said and took Oliver's hand. "This is still too crazy to think."
Jed knew it would be hard to sink in, but it will.
At the minute, it doesn't seem real but as the months go by and the child is clearly growing, they'll learn to accept it.
"Try not to think too deeply about it until you're both back home with nothing else to worry about" The Angel smiled.
The boys nodded, knowing that would be hard but the right thing to do.
As Jed got up and walked over to the other Angels, Vinny and Oliver sat in silence.
In their minds, they're not ready to be parents. Their lives with each other had just began and something this massive suddenly lands on their shoulders.
Not to mention that it's just odd. Two males are now pregnant so they can pass their extraordinary bonds onto their children to stop a demon war.
How unrealistic is that?
But it's actually happening whether they like it or not.
Oliver was scared about what the public would say. Would people accept it or not? He hoped so, but he would understand if they didn't because he can't even accept it himself.
Vinny started thinking about the near future, the demons.
He had to push that huge life changing news to the back of his thoughts in order to get the right mind set.
They would most likely fight demons again and he was nervous, but angry.
He still couldn't believe that they thought they had the right to just take them and torture them.
So for that, he would gratefully kill them all.
