Chapter 10
Vinny and Oliver had been stuck in that room for almost half a day and it was driving them mad.
It was incredibly frustrating that they could see each other but not make that physical touch.
Talking to each other helped to distract their minds but it wasn't the same and they wouldn't stop feeling sorrow and pain until their bonds went back to normal.
At the minute, Vinny was trying to help Panuleon pull his chains from the wall once more.
He knew angels were stronger than Vampires. Even though the handcuffs were somehow weakening Panuleon's powers, they hadn't taken Vinny into consideration and he still had his full strengths.
Corey and Oliver were watching, hoping that their little plan was successful.
There was a small crack that was forming around the screws and if the demons didn't notice anything, they'd hopefully be successful at escaping.
But suddenly, the door was kicked open and in walked the female demon.
"Bathroom break" She sighed and stomped over to Corey.
He backed into Oliver as she unchained him from the wall.
"Don't be so pathetic" She muttered and yanked him up.
This was the first time in almost two days that he had stood up so his legs were feeling quite weak.
"It's alright Corey, don't panic," Panuleon said calmly as he watched the Demon.
"Shut up" She spat as she grabbed Corey's shoulders and pushed him towards the door.
Even she was taller than him.
When Corey and Panuleon met, Panuleon was eighteen in human years and Corey was almost eighteen too.
He's twenty now and probably hasn't grown since he was fourteen.
That's one thing Panuleon absolutely loved about him. He loved how cute he was and how easily his small body melted into his big one when they hugged.
When Corey was out of Panuleon's view, he whimpered and doubled over in pain.
"No" He wailed when Corey was getting pulled further away.
The door was open and they could hear Corey beginning to cry out too.
Vinny frowned in discomfort. He wished he could help but there was nothing he could do.
Oliver swallowed the lump in his throat. Seeing their pain was awful and it looked as bad as it felt. He was really starting to miss Vinny's scent and his warmth.
But in a way, it was easier for them. They were passed their limit and it hurt a hell of a lot but Corey and Panuleon had a five-meter mark that they couldn't cross which meant they felt it ten times worse, the further away they were.
"Hang in there Panuleon," He said, not knowing how else to comfort him.
Vinny looked to see tears falling from the angels eyes and if that wasn't a wake-up call, then he didn't know what was.
It showed how painful it was for them if it brought the one who should be the strongest almost to his breaking point.
He kept thinking to himself that the angels are coming.
It was a comforting thought but not one that guaranteed their safety for the future ahead.
Panuleon clutched his chest and scrunched his eyes shut. He rocked himself and clenched his jaw.
This pain was too much to handle.
He stayed like this for a few minutes until he could feel Corey getting closer again.
"Come back to me" He whispered so quietly that Vinny didn't even hear it.
But Corey did.
That was the beauty of being able to read each other's minds.
For them, it was very strange to get used to at first, but now if they don't hear the other one's thoughts, it gets quite lonely.
When Corey re-entered the room, he also had tears streaming down his face.
He immediately took his gaze to his soulmate and tried edging closer. He needed to feel him, just once, but the demon quickly yanked him back and pushed him hard into the wall, making him fall on top of Oliver.
She went over and picked him up by his neck.
Vinny pulled on his chains and glared at the woman. Who does she think she is? Corey was going through so much heartache and she still thinks it's okay to treat him like that.
"Don't hurt him," Oliver said.
Corey was nice and he didn't deserve this.
She smirked at Oliver but punched Corey firmly in the chest. He cried out in pain as she dropped him to the ground.
And just like she had done nothing wrong, she slowly attached his wrists back to the chains and then moved onto Oliver's chains.
He was overcome with rage when she was fiddling with his wrists.
He had to look at Vinny to calm himself down or he might end up doing something stupid.
It wasn't wise for Oliver to hurt the demon, she is a lot stronger than him and by the looks of it, very aggressive too.
"Look at me," Panuleon said as he was on his knees and as close as he could get to his soulmate, which was only a few inches away from the wall. "You're being so brave."
Corey's bottom lip was trembling as he laid in pain.
His tears were fogging up his vision but he could still see his angel.
Vinny watched as the Demon pulled Oliver to his feet. She gave him a little shove towards the door but let him walk himself.
He was taller than her and it made everyone realise that she is picking on Corey because of his size.
What a coward.
"I can't wait to sink my fangs into her face" Vinny muttered as Panuleon glanced at him. But Vinny knew he was agreeing.
They both wanted her killed.
Corey slowly sat up and rested his back against the wall.
Vinny had never seen anyone look so miserable in his whole life.
"We need to get out of here," Panuleon said as he turned to look at his chains. "When Oliver is back and the demon has gone, we'll think of a proper plan"
Vinny nodded as he chewed the inside of his lip. He hoped that the woman was taking him for a bathroom break too because he was seriously considering killing her.
It didn't take long for Oliver to come back as she made him sit down next to Corey once more.
His gaze instantly fell on his soulmate as they felt relieved that they could still see each other but their limbs ached, they missed the feel of one another's skin.
When the woman was done with chaining him back to the wall, she turned to the vampire.
His glare was cold and it did make her slightly uneasy.
"Do you even go to the toilet?" She asked as she crossed her arms.
"Yes," He muttered, hoping that she'd get close enough for him to take a bite.
"Fine" She sighed but walked over to the door. "Get in here."
They watched as a guy came in and walked over to Vinny.
He started to unchain him as the woman stood back and tapped her foot with irritation.
Vinny let a satisfied smirk make its way onto his lips.
"Look who's the pathetic one now," He said, knowing that would annoy her.
The other demon pulled Vinny to his feet but he shoved him away.
It was clear that the demons were afraid of the vampires as he didn't retaliate and let him walk to the door.
Oliver watched as Vinny disappeared, making him feel incredibly lonely.
The woman glared around the room before stomping out.
It was amusing that the vampire scared her to the point where she wouldn't even go near him, but this was a good thing.
If he escaped as well as Panuleon, they would have a great advantage on their hands.
"Are you alright?" Oliver asked as he looked down to Corey.
"I'm fine," He said but it was clear that it was a stupid thing for him to ask. Nobody was okay.
Oliver then looked at Panuleon who's expression was trying to be calm for his soulmate.
This felt like the worst situation he had ever been in, but he was still trying to stay hopeful.
"Are you alright?" Corey then asked. Maybe asking the pointless stuff to keep the talking going was needed to help distract their minds.
"I'm getting there," He said and managed to show him a little smile. "How're you doing Panuleon?"
"I'm okay thank you, Oliver," He said and rubbed his eyes.
It didn't take long for Vinny to come back but now there were two demons holding onto him, which meant he must have tried to escape or hurt one of them.
They sat him down next to Panuleon and once he was chained back to the wall, they left.
Everyone sat in silence as they watched each other.
The demons were clearly observing them and learning as time went on.
It made them nervous that this was happening, but more determined to get out of this place and back into each other's arms.
