Chapter 29
"Naku, I think he's trying to lure you into a trap. Why would he try to even attempt this risky war to get your crown? You haven't done anything to him." Kiru asked.
"He's power hungry. Greed and thirst for power led him to sell his soul and caused him to destroy his family." I explained.
"How did he even learn about you?" Reikon asked.
"That cute, little hybrid program that you guys made." I said with a slight bark.
"Just be careful. You don't know what he's capable of doing." Gotsuki warned.
"Well... Considering that I once went through a wall, got turned into a human pincushion with wooden planks, had to fight with magic inside the school with a pitch black atmosphere, got locked up in a chamber specifically designed to kill me, got my neck nearly blown clean off by my brother, fought a demon, and still survived all that, I think this would be a simple walk in the park." I replied with a slight grin.
"Damn does he make a valid point there." She marveled.
With that, I agreed and headed off to the fight, leaving the others to choose to follow me or stay behind. Knowing them, they followed me like the loyal guards that they're trained to be.
"Sorry I almost blew your neck off." Yukai said as he caught up with me.
"I'm sorry about turning you into a pincushion." Kurai added.
"No worries. You both had your reasons and I forgive you both because you're family." I said while calmly walking.
"So, what's the plan? Anything creative?" Yukai asked as he adjusted his gun behind his back.
"I'm planning on having everyone fight a glass demon while you, Kurai and I attack Daiko's dear old dad." I said a little nervously.
"You sure that's the plan?" Kurai asked a bit unsure.
"Yeah. Totally. That's what I have in my head so far. I swear that seems to be like the only idea that I can think of." I replied.
"Ok. I think that can work out." Yukai said a bit awkwardly.
"Don't worry. If anything goes wrong, we'll have everyone fighting around us. So, if we need help, I can signal for them to help and they can take turns shifting the enemies." I explained.
"Sounds like a plan." Migeki agreed.
"A generic plan, but it's still a plan." Rigeki added.
"Do you still think that we're evenly matched?" Satori asked.
"I think so." I replied.
"Unless if they're already starting to outnumber us." Rojin added.
I looked around and saw all the damage and destruction that the demons caused. I started to make calculations in my head and then included my team. Seeing the amount of enemies in sight and seeing my nightmare legion following behind, I felt a little at ease at the high chances of a smooth victory.
"Riuyo, get north. Jinriu, you'll be south. Satori will take east and Kuriagi will take west. Migeki, northwest. Rigeki, southeast. Rojin covers the southwest and Satori finishes in the northeast." I signaled while approaching the enemy.
"Understood." They all confirmed.
"That leaves you, Kaizuke. Care to help me out?" I asked as I pat him on the shoulder.
His eyes widened with shock and joy as he stuttered to answer. "S-sure. I wouldn't mind helping you out." He smiled.
"Thanks. I'll, most likely, need your help." I said gratefully.
We made our way to the enemies. They were waiting for us to make the first move. Honestly, whenever I see an enemy waiting for us to make the first move, I see them signing their death wish and hoping it comes true because they always get what they wish for.
"Go!" I yelled and everyone rushed to attack their position that I had given them.
We rushed to the center while the others drew the attention they needed from the enemies. Some chose to attack us, they never moved or breathed again after we walked past them.
"I know I like having all the attention directed towards me, but I hate having to kill those who give me unwanted attention." I sighed.
"It's fine. When we go back to the other dimension, you'll go back to being the most popular and powerful kid at school." Yukai reassured after shooting an enemy in the head.
"Talk about powerful, look at mister high and mighty sitting on his glass throne." I scoffed as we saw Daiko's father posing on his throne.
"Dear me, I believe someone can actually get used to this type of comfort." Daiko's father chuckled.
"Yeah. All the diamondware, designer clothes, being treated to your hearts content is very addictive. Sadly, it's an exclusive drug that only the rightful owners can use. So, do me a favor and don't get too comfortable. It's time to get off your high horse." I growled.
"How about you finally sleep in a coffin that's actually six feet underground?" He sassed back.
"Oh, please. I was taught to have manners. So, as the instructor taught me, ladies first." I sassed back.
Yukai and Kurai couldn't keep a straight face so they started to chuckle behind me. Seeing the displeased snob of an enemy gave me a clear sign that he wasn't going to back down easily. He gracefully stood up and made a sword with his powers.
"Prepare to say your last words. They'll go down in the history books, followed by the words that mark your demise." He frowned.
I drew my sword and began my attack while he started to ramble on about how he would reshape the kingdom in his own image and how he was going to enslave the others.
"You talk too much. You should've sold your ungodly annoying voice instead of your soul." I growled.
"I got the solution for this." Kaizuke cheered before clawing off the enemy's vocal cords.
Blood started to splatter around and the enemy held onto his jugular. He let go after covering it with a gauze made with his shadows. He couldn't talk anymore, which felt like a blessing, but he smiled because he still felt indestructible.
