Chapter 17

It was sunrise and my timer had already started ticking. It was only a few hours until I escaped to perform my secret mission before battle. The butler opened the doors to my room and signaled the maids to come in. They all came in and started cleaning around the room and making the bed while I changed clothes inside the closet. I wore my usual royalty clothes and enjoyed their soft fabric for what could possibly be the last time. I knew the adventure ahead of me was gonna be risky but there was also a slight chance of death if I messed up.

"Everyone is still asleep, you should get some more rest." The butler advised.

"Thanks for your concern but I'm sure I can manage with this much resting time. There's lots to do today and I intend to get most of everything done before sunset. Is there any possibility of doing so?" I asked curiously.

The butler smiled and guided me towards the throne room. "You can wait here while we get your coordinators for the upcoming events of today. If anyone else wakes up, I'll be sure to let them know that you are waiting here and that they should join you whenever they have the chance." He said before leaving to get the coordinators and planners.

I smiled and sat on the center throne. It gave me a nostalgic feeling, sitting there and feeling the pressure of being royalty. I only got to experience this feeling on certain occasions, almost five or seven times a year. I remember all the lessons I had to take before my coronation after the fight with Kurai. I was taught to sit properly, speak in a certain manner and to always keep my composure on point. The slightest mistake and your people will doubt your authority. All these rules sure fly out the window with me in charge. I choose to be diplomatic whenever it's needed, not all the time.

"Now arriving: wedding planner Yasashi Korogane, flower specialist Yuki Akatsumo, decoration organizer Aiko Yagakumi, and head outfit designer Tsukaru Kishigame." Announced the chief guard.

"Welcome all to the throne room. I must first thank you all for coming here on such short notice." I said as they bowed.

"Nonsense. We will drop everything to attend you the instant you call on us." Reassured Aiko Yagakumi.

"Your service will be greatly acknowledged. It is fine and loyal subjects like you who make this kingdom breathtaking. I would say there are other kingdoms, but this is the only one." I said kindly.

"May I be so bold as to ask you, why have you called upon us?" Asked Yuki Akatsumo.

"Several reasons, to be honest, all concerning the wedding that will take place within a few days." I replied.

"Is there anything that needs fixing? Should we change the decorations? Will we need more things ordered?" Asked Yasashi Korogane.

"Nothing needs to be changed or fixed, but I believe we will have to order certain things." I replied.

"Name them off." She replied as she got her notepad and got ready to write.

"I will need bouquets for the bridesmaids, a custom design outfit for all of my friends and family, and we would need night time decorations for the reception after party." I listed as she wrote everything down.

"It shall be done by today." She estimated.

"Good. I knew I could always count on you for these tasks. I'll make sure to send my friends to go help you out whenever they wake up." I stated and we then left to get breakfast.

As the day started to go by, everyone caught up with my requests. I had sent everyone to help out with the massive request that needed to be completed in such short time. I smiled and slipped out of everyone's sight. Once in the clear, I dashed towards my room and started arranging my equipment for the mission tonight. I made sure to take extreme precautions and to check out all the necessary things for the mission. The day started to slip away from me as night began to fall. I quickly walked around and made my way back so that no one would notice that I was gone all this time.

"You seemed to be busy running from here and there, Naku. What were you doing?" Kaizuke asked.

"Just making sure things matched up with plans." I replied falsely.

"That's actually clever. It helps out productivity and makes sure that everything goes smoothly. I'm surprised you thought of that before any of us. That also saves time in the planning sequence." Marveled Yasashi as she checked out all the items on her list.

"It's just a simple tactic that I use on extremely busy days. It was the least I could do to make up for lost time while I was setting up preparations for the war." I explained.

"I don't know how you can do it. I'm all exhausted and you're barely yawning." Yukai complained.

"I'm tired, I just don't express any of it." I replied.

"It makes you look cute. Your soul mate will find it attractive." Rojin said jokingly.

"I guess they could. We won't know for sure until we actually meet. Who knows how long it would take, though?" I puzzled.

"Relax, you'll fall in love eventually. Then you'll be madly in love with your partner like how I am with Gotsuki." Kiru said reassuringly.

"Speaking of which, you guys should get rest. The big day is soon and we have to look nice and well rested." I said and everyone agreed.

With that done, the day was over and everyone was finally going to sleep. My time drew near and I quietly began my mission. I grabbed my equipment and made my way to the main hall. I slowly crept so I wouldn't make any noise and that's where it happened. My escape to the war zone has officially begun.
