chapter 2-incomplete

The quiet streets of Mewni laid desolate and empty, apart from one soul treading their winding corridors and rubble filled passages.

The acting queen rushed home, looking quite distressed, with her hair sticking out in all directions and her dress wrinkled and crumpled around the edges. However, her eyes showed firmness and anger. How dare he attack Marco like that, when it was her fault! Marco didn't do anything wrong! She knew Tom could be iffed, but she never thought he would blow up in her face like that.

Her feet stomped straight into the castle, jolting the exhausted guards guarding what's left of the gate.
"Good evening, Queen Star! We hope you had a great walk!" The knight guards greeted her in unison as she passed by them.

Star stopped dead in her tracks, fists pressed tightly against her sides. Gritting her teeth, she turned around, and with a stomp of her foot yelled loudly:
"HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO TELL YOU STUPID, STUPID SERVANTS! IT'S.ACTING.QUEEN!!!"

Her voice echoed through the cracked walls, loud enough for most to hear. Then, red clouded her vision, but it wasn't anger. Tall, menacing, pillars of blood red fire surrounded her, like a protective shield from the guards, but ready to strike at the same time.

Star gasped, and as soon as she moved her hands, the flames were gone. She looked  at her arms and legs, and nothing was there. Magic that strong would leave a mark, but it didn't. If it wasn't her who did it, who or what did?

Star rubbed her eyes for a good minute. Was she just surrounded by fire, or has she imagined it all? When she looked to the guards, the horrifying thruth hit her. The flames were real, too real.

One guard laid next to a giant part of the wall, the arm he used to most likely shield himself littered with dark red markings, looking as if he was whipped with a flame whip. The guard is alive, but unconscious, the slow rising and falling of his chest relieving Star for just a bit, before she looked the other way, to the second, younger guard.

He was definetly conscious, his bluebell eyes staring at her, scared stiff. He was panting quietly, his chest taking the blow, same whiplash patterns criss-crossed across it. His armor was melted, the searing metal touching his skin, but he seemed to pay no attention to it.

"Wait, don't move! I'll help you!" Star sprinted towards him, already summoning a spell to cool him, when he screamed, loudly.
"BUTTERFLY...FIRE...BUTTERFLY...FIRE! BUTTERFLY, FIRE!!!"

Star stopped in her tracks with a gasp, eyes wide:
"W-what did you say?"
"Butterfly...Fire...Butterfly...Fire..."

She stumbled backwards, covering her ears quickly.
"A queen must always be in control, Star. Not just for the kingdom, but for herself as well."
Her mother's words echoed in her head as she ran into the castle, blinking back tears.

"Mommy! Mommy, why did you leave?!" She told to no one in particular, vision blurred with tears she refuses to shed. With her vision limited, she didn't even notice the short, muscular wall in front of her.

"Star, my dear! Where have you been?" The loud booming sound of River's voice greeted Star in his usual cheery tone. Star rubbed her eyes again, and looked at her dad before hugging him tight.
"Papa!"
"Wow, Star! What's going on here? What got you down?"
"Papa, I was with Tom, and-"
"You two had a fight?"

Star stopped hugging him and looked into his eyes:
"Yes, but how did you know? You and mom never fought!"

River chuckled loudly and swung an arm over his daughter's shoulders.
"Yep, we never did! But she would have the same look you had when she had to deal with Sir 'HandsomeFace', back when we were younger." River rolled his eyes in disgust before yelling:
"Boys are a menace for a Princess, Star! Annoying to no end, especially that jerk!"

Star chuckled, she could always count on her father to cheer her up.
"But papa, you were a boy too!"
River rubbed his beard and narrowed his eyes.
"Indeed I was. But, I was the right boy for your mother! There's a difference. Right boys like me have that something that completes their Queens, Star. They can be jerks, maybe I am a jerk! But they are there for you, when you truly need it."
River smiled softly, and patted Star's chest.

Star smiled, and looked at the floor.
"Ok, papa."
"Now, on to more important business. MEAT PARTY, MEAT PARTY, MEAT PARTY!!!!"
River ran into the Royal kitchen, making Star laugh as they raced to the pantry, ready to stuff themselves with meat.

With Tom

Tom's carriage stopped in front of a tall structure, tainted with a dark brown colour. He hastily stepped out, clutching the photos in his right hand. He kicked down a door with a loud thud, catching the demons in the building by surprise.
"Your great and marvelous Highness! Your evil Excellence! What an honour to meet you!" A fat demon shouted as the demons quickly bowed, shivering in front of their prince.

"Where is the High Priest!?" Tom snapped to him quickly, having no time for this nonsense. The demon cowered away, and pointed a shaky finger up the stairs. Tom stomped past him, setting each step on fire.

He set the door in front of him on fire, destroying them in seconds.

"Ah, hello Prince! What brings you to my lair?" A tall, lanky demon replied in a cool tone, his white eyes staring down the prince's fearlessly.

"Explain this!!!" Tom yelled as he slammed the photos on the demon's desk, shaking it viciously. The demon picked up the photos carelessly, one of his arms holding his head, while 2 more supported him against the desk. He looked back at Tom, disinterested.
"Princess Star is kissing a human, so?"
"Ugh, look at the last one!"

The demon stared lazily at the last picture, before letting a little magic flow through the paper.

What appeared made him grin, similar to the Grinch, as he let out a series of chuckles and half-laughs.
"Here is what happens when you don't listen! I told you all the dangers, and no one listened!!!" He now laughed loudly, throwing the photos into the air.
"What are you blabbering about, you old goat!"

The demon laughed even louder, his tone having a crazy note.
" ABOUT THE MOON, YOU YOUNG FOOL! I TOLD YOU SUFFERING IS ALL YOU WILL EVER GET FROM IT, BUT LOOOVE LEAD YOUR PARENTS' HEARTS!"

He streched 2 out of his 4 arms to Tom, and cupped his face. He used that to pull himself to just inches away from Tom's face, and said:
"Now you get to deal with the Madness! Because my boy, the Moon never once chose two of the same kind."
