Epilogue

Thalia

Four months later

I kindly thanked the store owner in Japanese for the ramen as I exited the store. Peter turned to me with a smile as he saw me exit the store.

"Took you long enough." He smirked.

"You're just impatient." I said, playfully punching him in the shoulder. He winced in response and my smile quickly melted.

"I'm so sorry." I rushed. Peter simply shook his head in response.

"It's fine." He said, holding up a hand. "Let's just get home. Everyone is waiting and I'm sure they're hungry."

Our plan to move to Japan was quite successful. We'd been here for months with no trouble. The Ronans were easily able to find good paying jobs so that they could live out their lives comfortably. Leo worked for a publishing company, Fiona and Peter were models, and Ricardo worked in a restaurant. They're jobs were very simple ones, but they preferred their new lives in oppose to the ones they'd previously lead.

"What's wrong?" Peter asked me. I turned to look at him with a confused look.

"You just look deep in thought." He explained.

A small smile found its way onto my face. "It's nothing." I clarified. Just wondering whether Corey or Rhys are fighting over the TV or not." I joked.

Peter chuckled. "They probably are."

As if on cue, my phone rang with Rhys' caller ID. With a sigh, I picked it up. "Hello?"

"Tal! Are you and Pete almost home? I'm starving!" He complained like a child. Leo's voice rang out in the background and I heard him say something about being patient. "Yeah, yeah." Rhys fumed on his side.

I laughed. "We're almost home, Rhys. Don't worry." I said.

"Hurry up then!" Rhys rushed before hanging up.

"Wow. No goodbye? How rude." I said, putting my phone back in my pocket.

"Well, that's Rhys for you." Peter said stuffing his hands in his pockets as we continued to walk.

_ _ _ _

In oppose to the grand mansion that the Ronans used to live in, we were all currently living in a nice cozy house with separate rooms for everyone. It was only one story and we had three cars, one for Leo, One for Fiona and Ricardo, and one for Peter. Corey and Rhys gave up the luxury of having cars to save money.

Peter and I took our shoes off at the door and before Peter could unlock the door, Rhys threw it open, a grin on his features. He'd decided to start growing his hair out so it was currently held back in a small ponytail with stray strand of hair sticking out and falling over his forehead. "You're finally back!" He exclaimed happily. But instead of greeting me and Peter, he snatched the bag out of my hand that had our ramen in it and ran off.

I simply sighed and walked in. Leo, who was sitting on the couch turned around and smiled when he saw us walk through the door. I'm assuming that our ramen was in the bag that Rhys just ran off with?"

"You are assuming correctly." Peter said, collapsing onto the couch beside his brother and pulling me down to sit in his lap. I leaned back into his chest and he nuzzled his face into my neck.

We heard the sound of a door opening and Mrs. Ronan entered the room. "Where, might I ask, is the ramen we sent you two out to get?" She asked, crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow.

Peter looked up and shrugged. "I dunno. Ask Rhys."

Mrs. Ronan sighed. "Of course." She said, going off to the kitchen.

"We should probably go in there too before Rhys gets greedy and devours all our food." Leo joked.

"You need help?" I asked, getting up and extending a hand out to Leo. His abdomen wound really did a number on him and he's still recovering. He's I his better stages now, but things like getting up and sudden movements are really painful for him.

He held up a hand. "Nah. I've got it." He said, slowly standing up. He winced for a moment before making his way to the kitchen with Peter and I.

When we entered, everyone was already seated around the table. Fiona turned to look at me and her eyes brightened. "Tal! Sit by me!" She said, patting the chair beside her like a child would." I smiled and did as she asked. Fiona hadn't changed too much in the past four months. The only thing different about her was her short wavy hair. She'd gotten it trimmed to chin length and dyed the ends of it blonde. She was truly beautiful.

"So how's the baby, Fiona?" Corey asked as he slurped up his ramen.

Oh! And she was two months pregnant.

"Its fine. The doctor said everything was normal." Fiona answered, placing a hand on her stomach. "Ricardo here has been worrying about it nonstop." She said, poking his forehead playfully.

"I just want the baby to be healthy and safe! Can you blame me?" He asked, kissing her cheek."

"Even Thalia and I don't get that gushy at the dinner table." Peter said, fake gagging.

"Oh wow, Pete. Real mature." Fiona retorted. "Guess what? At least Ricardo and I know how to be silent while we have s-"

"OKAY! Next topic." Leo exclaimed. "Thalia, your birthday is in a few days. Do you have anything special you'd like to do?"

All eyes turned to me and I blinked. "I don't know." I shrugged looking down at my bowl. "I guess I just want to have a cake and call it a day." I said using my chopsticks to slurp up some more ramen.

"How lame." Rhys murmured before getting elbowed by Corey.

"I think it's nice to have a small celebration every once in a while."Mrs. Ronan said. "It's peaceful."

"Of course, you're still getting presents from each one of us." Leo added. "You're not getting out of that one." The whole table laughed at Leo's statement and I brushed a stray strand of hair out of my face.

"What about you Peter? Got any special plans for Tal's birthday?" Ricardo asked." Peter looked up at the mention of his name and shrugged. "Of course I do. Its personal though."

"Oh he's most definably going to rail-"

"SHUT UP FIONA!" Peter exclaimed as the table burst into laughter.

"For your information, that's NOT her present!' He played with his noodles for a bit before speaking up again. "I'm taking her to the pier a few miles away." He stated.

"The pier? Why the pier?" Corey asked, looking up in confusion.

"It's an inside thing." Peter said looking over at me with a smile. I smiled back before looking back down at my bowl. My mind subconsciously drifted back to that day when Peter and I snuck out to go to the pier to swim in the water. It was a nice memory and I was excited to recreate it.

Peter reached under the table and I felt our fingers brush. A small smile reached my face as I intertwined our fingers. From the corner of my eye, I saw Peter smile too.

This was it. This was happiness.

No Mafia, no drama, no danger. Just Peter, I, and Infinity.

I couldn't wait to enjoy it for the rest of my life.
