Chapter Twenty-Six
Peter
My eyes slowly opened and the first thing I saw was Thalia's sleeping form. I softly smiled at her and propped myself up on my elbow, admiring her features. She was so beautiful, and she was mine.
I reached over and brushed a strand of hair out of her face. She stirred a bit and her brow furrowed before she opened her eyes. A smile pulled at the corner of her lips. "Hey, you." She muttered.
"Hey." I replied. "How are you feeling?"
She sat up and stretched. It was a struggle to keep my eyes on her face as she pulled the blanket up to cover herself. She ran a hand through her locks before she said, "Tired. What time is it?"
I looked over at my nightstand where my clock sat. The time 5:15 blinked back at me with bold red letters. My eyes widened and I sat up quickly. "We've been in here all morning?" I half asked, half exclaimed.
"What?" Thalia asked. She quickly rushed over to our discarded clothes and rushed to put hers back on. I followed suit.
"Okay," I whispered as I placed my hand on the doorknob. "My sister is practically a walking sex tracker! So, we have to be discrete."
"What does that mean?" Thalia whispered back.
"Just act normal, okay?"
"Um...okay."
She reached her hands up and messed with my hair a bit. "It was messy."
I reached over to her hair and brushed out a few of her tangles as well. "There. Now we're both good." I replied with a smile. She playfully rolled her eyes at me, failing to hide her own grin.
We left the room slowly, I was in front and Thalia was a few feet behind me. As soon as we went downstairs, I saw the whole family gathered around the kitchen island. All eyes immediately turned towards us.
"Well, look who decided to join us." Leo deadpanned.
I opened my mouth to make up an excuse, but Leo held up a hand. "No need. We're just making the final plans for Fiona's wedding. Find a seat and listen up."
Thalia and I sat down at the table on opposite sides listened as Fiona began to list things off. "Okay, so obviously our family sits here on this side," She said pointing, "Ricardo's family sits over here. Our friends and family sit over there and there too."
Leo chimed in with where the foods and orchestra would be and Mom added in dress attire. I was listening at first, but then I sort of zoned out. I caught a glimpse of Thalia who was glancing between my family members while they spoke. Her big blue eyes then met my own and she cast me a soft smile as a light pink hue rose to her cheeks.
I sent her a playfully annoyed look and glanced over at my mother and siblings, telling her to pay attention because she was being suspicious. She sent me a look in return and I rolled my eyes, before turning away from her and paying attention to the plans again.
This was nice. Everything was peaceful. Everything was normal. It was great not feeling like your life was in danger every five seconds. There was going to be a wedding in a few days, everyone was happy, and I'd gotten the girl. I couldn't image how life could get any better.
"Peter?" I cast my attention to my mother who was looking at me with a raised brow. "We asked you a question."
I blinked "Um...yes?" I replied, but it came out sounding more like a question.
Mother looked at me like I was crazy. "Peter, we asked what type of foods you think there should be."
I was silent for a second before I silently muttered, "Oh."
Leo face palmed. "Are you kidding me, Pete? What was the last thing you remember us talking about?"
"Where the families should sit." I stated, earning a groan from everyone except Thalia.
"Peter, that was five topics ago. What in the hell is so important that you'd ignore us literally planning our sister's wedding for?" Leo demanded.
"I don't know." I lied. "Besides, don't we have people to do this for us, or something? This is stressful."
"We're doing it ourselves because it means more. And also, you literally have done NOTHING. How are you stressed?"
"Looking this good takes a lot of work. Work that you obviously aren't used to." I teased, smirking at Leo.
I saw Thalia roll her eyes, a small smile pulling at the corner of her mouth.
"Oh, shut the hell up and pay attention." Leo hissed at me. I held up my hands in surrender and rolled my eyes before propping my cheek up on my hand.
It was then that I realized Fiona had been suspiciously quiet during this whole endeavor. I looked over at her to see her looking at me intently. "What?" I asked, raising a brow at her. She shook her head and turned her attention back to Leo, who was currently talking.
I frowned when I received a rather rough kick to the shin. I glared over at Thalia but my gaze softened once I saw her mouth the words "I'm bored"
I used my hand to cover my lips from my family's view before I replied by mouthing, "Yeah, I am too, but you have to just hang in there. Now sush!"
She frowned and propped her cheek up on her face, no doubt ignoring the planning process entirely.
I softly rolled my eyes before I turned my attention back to the planning. It was then that I noticed everyone staring at me with deadpanned looks.
"Seriously, man?" Leo asked."You had one job."
"Well, considering it's a boring job, I'm doing everything in power not to do it."
"You're such a prick." Leo retorted.
"Boys! Calm down. Please! You've been doing shit like this since you were ages six and thirteen!" Mother chimed in.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Yes ma'am." Leo and I muttered in unison.
My eyes met Thalia's for a brief moment before I looked back down at the paper before us. Suddenly the sound of a gasp filled the room.
All eyes turned to Fiona who was glancing between me and Thalia with a cheeky grin. "I should have known!" She grinned.
Shit.
"Known what?" Mother asked. 'Please don't answer'. I mentally begged.
"Thalia and Peter had sex!" Fiona announced. I shot her a glare and she smirked at me. Thalia stared at Fiona with wide eyes and an open mouth.
"Fiona! Shut the hell up!" I hissed.
"It's so obvious, though! I don't understand how I didn't catch on sooner! You two have been stealing glances, mouthing words to each other, and blushing this whole time! Plus, you both have that classic, 'after sex glow' thing going on. You two literally suck ass when it comes to hiding anything romantic." Fiona stated.
"We hid it for a reason! We don't want people knowing about our sex life!" Thalia said, hiding her face in her hands.
"Well then be more discrete about it." Fiona muttered, twirling some of her hair around her finger.
"Hold up, how long have you two been having sex?" Leo asked with a scrunched up nose.
"None of your business." I stated.
"Since early this morning." Thalia replied at the same time I did. I shot her a look and she shrugged. "I mean, the tea is already spilt."
"Yeah, but you don't have spill the whole pot!" I pressed.
"Well, I for one am glad that Peter is back in the dating game. It's nice seeing him happy again. Plus, Thalia is a better fit for him than that last girl. What was her name? Tonisha? Tootie?"
"Tonya, mom. Her name was Tonya." I deadpanned.
"Whatever her name was, she was a bitch." Mother said. Leo and Fiona muttered in minor agreements. I ran a hand down my face. I wanted this conversation to be over with. I had been embarrassed enough.
"Are we done here yet? Can I go now, please?"
"Awe! What's wrong? Is little Petey embarrassed because we all know he got his pickle tickled?" Fiona teased. Leo stifled a laugh beside her.
"Fiona, I swear to god, I will beat the shit out of you." I said.
Fiona scoffed. "Bitch please. You couldn't even beat the shit out of a disabled grandma."
"Okay, okay! Let's all calm down." Thalia said, standing and holding her hands up to separate Fiona and I. "I think that's enough planning for the day. Let's all take a break. Peter and I will-"
"Nope." Leo said suddenly. "Sounds like you and Peter have spent enough time together. Let's find you two something separate to do."
"What?" I asked.
Leo snapped his fingers, ignoring my protest. "Training? Perfect idea, Peter! We've been meaning to get to that. It's Fiona's turn this week anyway." Fiona looked as though she was going to object, but Leo cut her off. "It's a little too late to do anything now, though. Why don't you get some rest, Thalia?" Leo rushed.
Thalia and I exchanged a look before Leo face palmed and added. "In different rooms, please."
Thalia and I groaned and Leo gave us pointed looks. "You two are twenty year olds. PLEASE act like it!"
"Night guys, I guess." Thalia mumbled.
"Night." Everyone said in unison.
"Nice going, Leo. You just sent my twenty-one year old girlfriend to her room." I complained
"WAIT, YOU WEREN'T JUST FUCK BUDDIES?" Fiona exclaimed, with a giant grin.
'Awe shit. Here we go again'.
