Glory's POV

When I arrived at the delta two weeks later, it seemed as if no one was there. Then, when lightning struck the center of the river a small frame crawled out of the chaotic currents. the dark figure called out loudly, 

"Glory! Are you out here!?" 

"I- I am here."

 My body is tense and I have a pouch on my left leg with a small jagged dagger in it. 

"What do you want with me?"

 My scales rest on a mix of red and acid green. I am terrified. why would this dragonet drag me out here just to kill me? I don't know. But it seems like I'm going to find out. 

"I- I need to kill you, or Deathbringer. For an important reason."

"Reallllllly? Do you want to kill us? Totally couldn't figure that out."

"I have to!! Otherwise, he'll kill my whole family! Please... Help me..."

Something I never expected to happen, happens. The dragonet assassin starts crying. Umm, what do I do? I've never had this happen before. Is she faking to get me close, or... I have no idea what to do. But, out of all times, my maternal side decides to wake up.

"Listen... I'm so sorry. no dragonet should ever have to be put through this.  We will try our best to find the monster who threatened to kill your family."

"That won't be enough. They start sending body parts in three months. SoI have to kill you now!!"

She lunges at me knife outstretched. And before I know it, Invisible scales collide with mine.
