19 YEARS LATER
|
A year had occurred before Rosalie saw Harry again. After the war ended at the Battle of Hogwarts, she had fled from England and taken a trip to Japan and many other lovely countries she had always wanted to visit but never had the chance before. But a year had occurred and she felt that her time with traveling was over and she decided to rent a flat in London.
She quite liked it, even had a muggle roommate to help out with the rent. Her name was Rebecca, but Rosalie often called her something else, never caring to remember her name. She was bitch anyways.
But then it was one year exactly - May second - and Rosalie had gone to the memorial for those who had lost their lives that day at the battle. She felt like she didn't belong there, others came in groups and she was the only one who came there alone. With her lip swollen from how hard she had been biting, and her arm growing tired from how she held it against her left arm to hid the shame of her mark, she stood there alone as McGonagall gave a speech for everyone there.
And it the speech ended, and people were conversing as Rosalie read and reread the names of everyone who had died that day, feeling more guilt settle in her chest - once again. This was when Harry came up to her. It was a friendly discussion, nothing mentioning the embarrassing moment when she kissed him when he probably didn't want to kiss her. She left when the promise of another meeting with Mr. Potter at a later date.
They did. It was two weeks later at the café around the corner from her apartment. She told him that she had been traveling, very recently moving back to London. He said the same, going to take his mind off of everything and finally relaxing for the first time in a long time. She had even gotten his phone number.
Two years after the war, they were dating. Rosalie had been invited to Christmas with the Weasleys, even earning her own sweater, which made her smile, grinning from her ears. She had never been given something so personal before. Again, she hadn't received a present since the death of her mother. On Halloween, they went to Godric's Hollow again to visit the graves of his parents before celebrating with their friends the birth of Rosalie Abigail Allen.
By five years after the war, they were married. She was no longer Rosalie Allen but Rosalie Potter. She liked the new name, and Luna was her Maid of Honor. They went to the Bahamas for their honeymoon - and no like that rat called Rita Skeeter followed them. Having said that, no one knew the location of their honeymoon except for close family or friends.
One year after the wedding, they welcomed their first child; James Sirius Potter. Of course, at first, Rosalie did not want her child to have the middle name Sirius. Two marauder names for one child? That was too much. In the end, she agreed, so long as no other child was named after them.
And the next year, they welcomed their next son; Nathaniel Allen Potter. Rosalie chose his name, and she thought that she had done quite a good job. Harry wanted to name him Albus Severus, but with a quick 'fuck no', that name choice was discarded. Nathaniel, of course, had no meaning to the family, Rosalie just thought it was a great name and wanted to call him that, and Allen after her old surname.
Their third, and final, child was born a year later. Her name was Lily Luna Potter, after Harry's mother and Rosalie's best friend. After two boys, hearing that they were having a girl overjoyed Rosalie. Finally, another girl in the household. She, much like her mother, had untamable curls, but they fit her quite nicely.
When James entered Hogwarts, he joined his parents at the red table, a Gryffindor. They were quite proud, but Rosalie could see the disappointment in Nathaniel's eyes. He hoped that his brother would be in a different house, because he knew that he wasn't going to be a Gryffindor.
Then it was nineteen years since the battle - since they had won the war. Nathaniel was entering his first year at Hogwarts and they were dropping him and James off at the platform. Rosalie heard Lily complaining about being too young to go to the school, but she reassured her daughter that she would go next year.
Rosalie also noticed that Harry was talking to Nathaniel, probably giving him some comforting words. And then he was kissing her goodbye, heading onto the train with newfound confidence. And Rosalie smiled as her husband placed his arm around her. Everything had worked itself out. The dark mark on her arm had slowly faded away and just recently it was so faint that it didn't look like it was there at all.
Placing her head on Harry's chest, she let herself smile as she waved goodbye. Everything was content.
All was well.
