Chapter Ten: End Part One

"Rise child," Arius said.

Dayana listened and hugged him. "They are not our enemy."

Arius cold eyes feel upon Malaysia. "I'll be the judge of that." When he pulled away from Dayana, Quin ran past Elias and Malaysia, down the grand stairs and into his opened arms, giggling. In that moment, Arius smiled and didn't seem as petrifying.

"I'm glad you're finally back!" She held his hand as he began to walk toward the study, Dayana a couple of steps behind. "Did you bring me something from France?"

Ethias appeared beside them, buttoning his shirt, hair a mess. Malaysia narrowed her eyes when Sierra walked toward them, braiding her hair, cheeks rosy.

"I hope negotiations went well."

Elias knitted his eyebrows together. "He was supposed to return in six months. I have doubts that things went as he expected."

At that moment, Malaysia realized that the agreement of them staying for six months hadn't been because they needed such time to train to be able to defeat Joel, but because Ethias wanted everyone out before his father arrived, a man said to despise every race except his own.

Ethias descended the stairs and halted, glancing over his shoulder at Elias. "He probably wants to talk to both of us."

Elias chuckled. "As the older brother, I think--" Ethias grabbed him by the hand and forced him to follow him. Malaysia couldn't help but smile at their childish behavior.

She turned to head for her bedroom only to be stopped by Dayana. "Come with me."

Malaysia's heart beat went wild as she was led to the study. Inside, Ethias stood beside Elias, both with looks that told her she was not going to like what was going to be said. Quin sat on one of the chairs beside the large window that allowed the sunlight to peek through, reading a book.

Arius glanced at Ethias and waited for something. "Boy, go get your beloved."

Ethias didn't move. "I would prefer if you left her out of this."

Malaysia stared at Ethias in utter disbelief. Had he dared make a blood bond with Sierra?

Arius sighed, seeming annoyed. "Don't make me get her myself."

When Arius stood, Ethias hissed and blocked his way. "Since I was sixteen, I've done everything you've asked of me...never questioning you. Leave her out of this."

Arius grabbed him by the shirt and hissed. "You should have never made a blood bond with her. She is human...Have you learned nothing? She will never be able to birth a child...." He released Ethias. "There are many seeking our weaknesses...and now both of you have created two." Elias stood frozen, clenching his hands at his sides, knuckles turning white.

"If our blood bond causes so much issue, then break it." Malaysia held her chin high, even though she was trembling. "You can ask Dayana--"

"Break it?" Arius glared at her. "In order to break a blood bond, the vampire must be sacrificed."

Her heart dropped to the ground at the revelation. "W--What?" Elias tried to get close to her, but she shoved him back, fighting back tears. "Why would you lie to me?"

"I didn't lie...I simply didn't you tell you all the details."

"I expected better from both of you--You know how things will end---yet still, you dared fall in love with a human..." His nose wrinkled up in disgust as he glanced at Malaysia. "I would say it was a good thing she is no longer human, but she is a mutt now. A creature that has been our enemy since the beginning."

"Why is it so horrendous to dare be with someone other than a vampire?"

"You are dangerous for my child. All it will take is one bite, and he is dead." He now stared at Ethias. "No supernatural would ever dare be with a human due to the curse that would take their immortality." He stepped closer to Ethias whilst Malaysia became lost in her mind. She had no idea such spell existed and that it affected every supernatural being on earth. "Either you turn that human, or I will."

When Ehtias didn't move, his father made his way toward the door. Ethias spoke in a foreign language, which had Arius coming to a halt. Within seconds, he had slammed his son against the wall and held him there, hissing, eyes growing dark. He spoke the same language, obviously in the brink of losing all control.

Malaysia glanced around the room to find that everyone was too astonished to even move a muscle. Now, she pondered what on earth had Ethias had said.

Ethias was talking fast, his scarlet eyes deepening before he managed to shove his father back and fixed the collar of his black shirt. He headed for the door, but at his father's next words, he lost all composure. Within seconds, he had struck his father before Elias managed to pull him away with Malaysia's aid. Without another word, Ethias exited the room.

Malaysia lowered her gaze and headed toward the door, halting at Arius's words. "I will never accept you into this family..." She glanced at him over her shoulder. "Because of you, I already lost one son...I'm not going to lose another."

Malaysia left the study, feeling her heart aching. She pressed a hand over her chest, realizing the pain was not only hers, but Elias. He had been wrong. His father was as cold hearted as the rumors claimed.

"May I have a word with you?" Quin smiled at Malaysia.

Malaysia simply nodded and followed Quin to the backyard. This was the first time she had come out of the enormous home. Malaysia inhaled the fragrances of the gorgeous flowers swaying in the cold breeze. She lifted her gaze to the sky to see the many stars scattered all over the sky. Soft moonlight cast upon her body, making her smile. The wolf within craved to run under the moon, feeling the breeze on her fur.

"You must think the worse of Arius."

Malaysia turned her head and smiled at the child beside her. Even though she looked so young, there were moment when she behaved so mature. "Wait--were you turned into a child?"

Quin laughed. "What? No." She paused. "Arius is only trying to protect his two sons....He is terrified of losing them too..." She met Malaysia's gaze, an innocent smile on her lips. "It's thanks to him that Dayana and I are alive...Our coven feared many witches would come to steal our powers...So, they asked for him to protect us...Everyone in the town below...They are dependent on him as well. Most have come to the city seeking a safe haven and he has given them that."

Malaysia wrapped her arms around her body. "What exactly did Ehtias say?"

Quin now wouldn't meet her gaze. "I think it's best you ask your friend Sierra."

"Arius wants me to distance myself from Ethias, but how can I when that would end with his demise?"

"You can send him blood bags until a safer way is discovered to break the bond...Unless, of course...you actually want to be with him?"

Malaysia's face flamed. "What? We're just friends."

Quin giggled. "That reaction says otherwise." Her smile vanished. "If you want to be with him, you're going to have to prove that you're worthy of him..."

Malaysia narrowed her eyes. "You mean Arius has to approve--"

"Malaysia, things are different for us than humans...We don't get to simply fall in love and live a mundane life. Ethias and Elias have many enemies...Their beloveds should be capable of protecting themselves.... Of making them stronger..." She smiled. "I have no experience in love, but so I've heard from Dayana." Her eyes watered before she glanced behind them. Malaysia followed her gaze to find Dayana standing there, sadness flashing in her eyes. "I'm sorry..."

Quin smiled, even though her eyes were teary. "Why are you apologizing?"

In the blink of an eye, Dayana had Quin in an embrace. "You're just a child...You shouldn't be worrying about any of this...You should be having fun--"

In the distance, smoke rose to the sky as red and orange flames became visible. Malaysia stared at the town below in horror, hoping that this was not tied to her. Before she could think things through, she was darting through the woods in the direction of the smell of burning wood.

The second she reached the town, she was stunned to find wolves terrorizing the vampires. Of course, they tried to fight back, but all it took was one bite and some screamed in agony as black lines spread through the bodies until they dropped to the ground lifeless.

"Stop!" She moved when she spotted a child crying in the mist of the chaos. The kid covered her ears and crouched, crying her eyes out. Malaysia managed to reach her as a wolf leaped toward her, ready to tear her apart with her razor-sharp teeth. Malaysia managed to grab the wolf by it's mouth and screamed in irritation as she ripped it apart, blood splattering all over her face.

The mother of the child picked her up in her arms and stared at Malaysia horrified, probably sensing she was a wolf, not vampire. When chains wrapped around her wrists, jerking her off her feet, she snarled and struggled. Still, she was dragged across the street, chaos erupting all around her.

When the chains released her, she turned and glared at Joel. His witch stood beside him, the chains wrapping around her forearms, glowing sapphire. At snarls and growls, Malaysia glanced over her shoulder to find Alec, Vanessa and Angelica feet away in wolf form, ready to aid her.

"You will not win this fight," Joel said, eyes glowing amber against the moonlight. "Join my pack and I'll call them back."

"Fuck you." She was about to move, but froze when the witch swung her hands and the chains moved like a snake across the floor, wrapping around her friend's locking them in place. At their howls, Malaysia's eyes widened with horror. She dropped to her knees, recalling the day she lost Connor.

"I do not need them...Join me, or I will kill them all."

Malaysia fought back tears as she glared up at him. When blood bathed her, she stared astonished at the body of the witch, which now had a glass-like sword with flames flowing through it piercing her chest. Joel stepped back as the flames set her body ablaze. The sword was yanked out of the body of the witch and her body dropped to the ground to reveal Arius, whose eyes revealed the fury within.

Before Joel could shift, Arius had shoved his sword into his shoulder, obviously having missed the heart on purpose. "You have no idea how I longed for this...Kill them all."

From the darkness, beats appeared and moved at unthinkable speed, appearing at times like blurs. When one halted beside her, Malaysia was about to jerk away, but then she realized it was Elias. As he aided her to her feet, she stared in utter disbelief as his bat-like wings and his mouth filled with razor sharp teeth. His eyes were dark like an abyss, his body a couple of shades lighter.

He changed back to normal and hugged her. Malaysia pulled back, glancing around to realize that the wolves had been all killed and an eerie silence had fallen upon the town. The rumors were not false. Clearly, everyone who feared this clan had good reason to. Arius stood in the middle of the town, Quin by his side. She placed her hands on the ground and like an act of magic, the flames vanished and it was as if time was reversed. Within seconds, the town appeared to have never been set in flames.

Minutes later, Malaysia was helping out with making sure those hurt had fully healed. She stood beside Dayana as she placed her hand over a laceration that looked black. Her hand shone a soft golden color before the wound healed. The male smiled and thanked Dayana before leaving the building.

Ethias stood in the entrance, his gaze on Sierra as she aided Quin with healing those whose wounds were too deep. Alec and the rest were also helping, making sure that everyone stayed in a line and remained clam until it was their turn. Malaysia glanced at those hurt before asking, "Why are they not healing fully on their own?"

Dayana smiled. "They aren't high ranked vampires..."

Alec stood beside Malaysia. "You're a high rank sorceress....Why are you not part of a coven?"

Dayana's eyes flashed with sadness. "My coven would have killed me so that the leader could steal my power...." She met his gaze. "Our races have in common their greed for power."

"So," Malaysia wanted to change the subject. "There are different types of vampires? Which is Elias?"

"S class." Dayana smiled. "The entire family is...which is why no one with a brain would ever dare go against them..."

Malaysia smiled when the woman from earlier approached her to thank her for saving her child, who held her hand, a bright smile on her lips. "There is no need to thank me." When she met Arius' gaze as he walked into the building, her chest tightened and she averted her eyes.

After helping out everyone, they all stood behind Quin and Dayana as they began to chant in their native language. As an act of magic the air around the town flickered like glass against the moonlight before becoming invisible. Apparently, this barrier would stop anyone from entering uninvited. Instead of entering the town, the person would end up at the other side.

Once they were back at the mansion, Alec wanted to speak to Vanessa, Angelica and Malaysia in private. Of course, they had no idea whether the walls of the home were sound proof or not, but clearly, neither of them cared if anyone heard their conversation.

"I think it's time we leave this home," Alec stated.

Angelica clasped her hands in front of her. "Where would we go?"

"I'm not certain yet, but we can't continue to stay here."

"But Elias needs my blood--what about Sierra?" Malaysia couldn't leave her behind. She wasn't.

"Sierra will be fine here--"

"What?" Malaysia couldn't believe what she was hearing. "If I leave, she comes with me--"

"Have you even asked her? Cause I'm certain she would rather stay here after finding out--" She stopped speaking abruptly.

"After finding out what?" Malaysia asked.

"That I'm pregnant."  Sierra stood at the opened doorway. "I'm pregnant with Ethias's child."

Astounded, Malaysia stared at her friend. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because I feared you would freak out---I was simply waiting until all this madness ended to--"

"But...that baby would be a half-breeds...I thought---"

Sadness flashed in Sierra's eyes as she placed her hands over her flat stomach. "It takes two months for a vampire to be born...I know what the risks are, but I don't care." Now she smiled as her eyes watered. "I never imagined I would ever be excited to become a mother..."

Malaysia hugged her tight, truly hoping that things turned out well and she gave birth to a healthy baby.

As the sun rose in the distance, Malaysia stood amongst her friends--her pack mates--in a meadow close to the mansion owned by Arius. She glanced back, the breeze pushing her green hair back.

"Are you sure you don't want to say good bye?" Vanessa asked.

"It would be too painful," she said, her heart breaking apart. She glanced down at the ring Dayana had gifted her minutes prior. They had attempted to leave the house without anyone noticing, but apparently, Dayana had expected it. She gifted her the ring then, saying it would allow her to find her...whenever Elias needed blood, she would come to her. It was best that he never again fed from the vein.

This had no future.

When she turned to follow her friends, she bumped into someone. Her heart skipped a beat as she met his piercing scarlet eyes. "Elias..." She narrowed her eyes. "Dayana...."

He chuckled as he cupped her face. "Did you really think she would not tell me?"

She laughed, feeling her cheeks burn. "Well, I hoped she wouldn't..." Her voice got stuck in her throat when he trailed his finger along the curve of her lip. Their gazes met and she became lost in his enchanting eyes.

"You don't have to leave."

She smiled like a damn fool. "I'm pretty certain your dad doesn't like us."

His smile reached his eyes. "Well, I wasn't about to try to deny that." She hugged him then and his arms around her tightened. Even if she wanted to stay, she couldn't. Where ever they went, chaos would follow.

Hesitant, she pulled back and began to head through the field of golden flowers that glimmered against the dazzling sunlight. With each step, her heart ached until it felt like it was being torn to pieces. When Elias called out for her to wait, she paused and hesitated. The second she faced him, he broke the distance and cupped her face in his hands, pressing their foreheads together. When their eyes met, she broke the distance and fluttered her eyes closed as she lost herself in the tender kiss. Sparks ignited through her body and intensified as the kiss continued. She loved the feeling of his mouth, the taste. Even though she never wanted the kiss the end, she pulled away. "When you need me..." She motioned to his head. "You can simply use our bond...Until we meet again." She turned and fighting back tears, she joined her friends before they shifted and ran into the wooded area.

Her paws thudded against the blades of grass as she pushed herself to move faster, zigzagging around the tall oak trees. Hopefully, they would be able to build a powerful pack, one that no one would dare challenge. Then, and only then, she would return to him, knowing that she would not be putting any lives at risk.

They ran for days, only stopping to get some rest or to drink water from rivers. She had no idea how many days passed. It was evident that Alec had no idea where the hell he was heading. She jumped in front of him to force him to stop and he did. They all shifted to their human forms before sounds around them had them in high alert.

At an arrow that tore through the air, Malaysia jumped in front of Alec and caught it in her hand, snarling. "Show yourselves!"

A figure in a cloak appeared beside them and had Alec by the neck, slamming him against the floor. Malaysia and the others moved to aid him, but froze when the woman lowered the hood, her eyes flashing amber. Malaysia stared at the woman with beautiful golden hair and bright blue eyes. "What on earth is going on?"

"I can ask you the same question." Malaysia shoved the woman away from Alec and aided him back to his feet. All around them wolves leaped out of the cover of oaks, snarling and growling all at Alec. Malaysia and the others stood in front of him.

"How can he be an alpha....They all died long ago."

Malaysia's confusion was probably evident on her face as she glanced around, all the wolves shifting to reveal they were all female wolves. One of the short ones got close to Alec actually sniffing him. "He's a pure breed..." Her head jerked toward the blond-haired woman. "I thought the alpha said all males were dead."

The woman's eyes widened as something seemed to click on her head. When she ordered the woman to take them to their territory, Malaysia protested, but they all stood around them. Not wanting to hurt them--they didn't seem to want to harm them--she allowed them to lead them to their home.

When they arrived there, Malaysia stared astonished at all the woman busy picking things from the garden or training out in the open. All froze in astonishment, not because of Vanessa, Angelica and her, but because of Alec. Some stared at at him in utter disbelief, others in awe, as if they had not seen a male before.

For years, the male wolves had believed all she-wolves had perished. However, that was far from the truth. This pack of only she-wolves was large. What could have driven the alpha to hide them all from their male counter parts?

End Part One.

Author's Note:

Well, even though I am not going to reach my goal of 50,000 words, I'm happy that I wrote this story down. Yes, I know it's all over the place and fast paced. It's supposed to be when it's me just writing down an idea for a longer story. Will I actually make it into a 100,000-word story? I'm not sure. I did fall in love with the characters. So perhaps in the future I will. I've always written stories to help with stress. So, at times I write as fast as I can and go with whatever I have in my head, not really taking the time to think everything out because when I do that, I overthink and become more stressed. So, sorry that this story--probably all of my stories. Lol. --are all over the place and far from perfect. I'm extremely happy that even with all the flaws there were people who enjoyed reading it. I'm truly grateful for everyone who takes the time to read/comment/like my stories.
