Blood Runs Cold
Hours went by and it started to grow dark outside. I sat on the roof on another party.
This one was more quiet than the one Feirro hosted yesterday. I wore nothing but black.
I would have to take out the guards but that's not a problem. I could see them perfectly.
Even though I hate this...it was pretty handy.
I keep a calm and relaxed demeanor, then I make a huge jump to the next roof. Something grabs my by the arm, I throw a rough punch only to come face to face with my own species.
Anaita.
Anaita had long blonde hair and green eyes, her skin was pale and she had worn a leather jumpsuit.
"Anaita." I hiss.
"Aren't you glad to see me?" She asks.
The thing about Anaita...she was born eighty years ago and she still remains ageless.
"What are you doing here my dear?" She asks.
"That's none of your business." I growl.
"Amelia why so harsh?"
"I'm a harsh person." I shrug.
"We both know that's a lie." She says, bringing her hand to my face, I smack it away.
She glares at me for a split second.
I've had enough of her bullshit.
She reaches to the scar on my neck, my eyes widen in anger, they sometimes turn black when that happens.
I grab her arm in one swift motion and pinned her down, slamming her head against the rough contents of the roof.
My left hand was against her head, my right preparing to break her arm.
"Why shouldn't I break your arm?" I ask with venom in my voice.
"Because I know your secret."
I pause, stepping away from her.
I'm an animal, and I use that to my advantage.
"What secret?"
"About how you turned into one of us."
Anger boiled inside me. That anger turned into impulsivity.
I grab her dainty neck, pinning her against the ground of the roof. I grit my teeth at her.
I have a temper. And Aniata was my main target.
I start squeezing, she hisses at me, her fangs growing.
"Bitch." She gasps.
I glare down at her, my black hair tucked behind my ears.
A vampire is capable of killing their own, but it's difficult.
But Anaita makes me want to rip her vocal cords right out of her neck right now.
"Tori is alive."
There was this little girl...I had saved not too long ago. She deserved a chance to live.
I stand up.
"Not for long." She gasps.
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO HER?" I yell.
I'm a calm and patient person, but hearing the shit Anaita had said made me see black.
"Nothing yet."
"She's a little girl!" I yell.
"Even as a vampire you're weak. Humans live and humans die."
I felt my mouth recoil away, a new set of jaws replacing it, now I had nothing but teeth the size of my fangs.
Our kind have two sets of forms, the less ugly form and a demonic form.
When you're in demonic form, that's when you're scary.
I had to control myself.
Anaita charges towards me, I crouch down and flipped her over my shoulder, sending her flying down the alley.
It wasn't enough to kill her but it was enough to shut her ass up.
I continue stalking the guards, crawling around on all fours, I look as a man smokes a cigarette.
"What happened to Audrey was sad."
"Are you kidding? The kid is stuck up! Serves his parents right for kissing his ass his whole life!"
I let my fangs loose.
I knew who Jason was.
Rather a weakling but handling him would be a peice of cake. I leap down, striking one man down, I bring my elbow to his head and wrapping my legs around his waist.
I open my mouth, plunging my teeth into the man's neck forcefully, he yells out in pain as I suck some of his bitter yet satisfying blood. As he sinks I look at the other man who was trembling with a gun in his hand.
"Sorry buddy...those bullets won't work on me." I growl, blood smeared over my face and my veins popped out.
The man I had just killed did cocaine an hour ago.
Dammit!
I felt myself shake. I run towards the man, ramming his head against a sharp point of the balcony, sliding his head fair down until he stopped moving.
I crawl against the wall, looking as more people flock the balcony. I kept silent, sneaking my way inside, I look around the marble floor.
My old best friend would say: Silence is the best weapon.
And to honor her, I did just that.
I look at the remaining people who were eating at the banquet, not paying attention to me silently walking up the stairs.
I hear a voice, it was husky but relaxed with a hint of a British accent.
I sneak into the room.
"Yes, I kept it between us."
I glare at the man who they name Jason Cruise.
The thing was, that wasn't Jason Cruise.
That was a good friend of my Dad's. And he's a damn traitor. He abandoned us in North Carolina when I wasn't a vampire. His old name was Tyler Campbell.
A liar, thief, imposter and a damn fool.
He turns around quickly, gun in his hands.
"A-Amelia?!" He shouts surprised.
I glare at him. He relaxes.
"You're not going to say anything?"
I walk closer to him, he points his gun directly at my chest. I kept silent.
"Hang up the phone." I growl.
"Hey Roseanne? Let's talk about this later, I have company." He says.
He hangs up.
"Amelia I'm sorry."
"Sorry?" I retort bitterly. "That's what you say to someone you betrayed?"
"Sorry is just a statement, unless you have something to back it up." I say.
"You've grown up." He says.
"Fuck off."
"Why so harsh?" He asks.
"I don't know, you tell me."
"You're still a headstrong little girl."
I glare at him. "And you're still a phony."
"Tyler Campbell."
"I needed a fresh start, a new life Amelia, don't you understand that?" He asks.
"I wouldn't be here if I didn't."
"However, that's not why you left."
"Amelia...I know you're still a headstrong, stubborn and funny girl I know."
Yeah, those traits are still there. But I'm angry.
Not that type of anger when you're scary.
I want vengeance.
"I'm not going to kill you, or turn you into a monster, that's not who I am. But you have hell to pay."
I jump onto him, I hold my right hand up, clawing into his chest, blood spurs out as he screams. Warm blood circled my fingers, I pull away.
"You can't run away from the shit you pulled."
"Traitor." I say emotionlessly, kicking his side.
"If you tell anyone about this, I will hang you to a tree and collect your fucking head." I growl.
I couldn't leave without making a false crime scene.
I shatter the window, climbing out and leaping to the wet ground. I turn around to see Anaita's head dangling with a rope. There was a bloody note in her mouth that says.
You're next.
