"How many of your pack members are Lycans?" I ask him and he thinks for a moment.

"Probably close to 90% of them, most Lycans end up as rogues because their pack rejected them," he says and I nod.

"You know you could always join your pack with mine, it is almost made up entirely of rogues."

"How big is your pack now?"

"It is approaching 400 members," I tell him and he lets out a low whistle.

"Wow, that's impressive. I only have about 125 members total, but most of them are male warriors."

"Just have your Lycans join my pack, the initiation ceremony is not that difficult. You pick someone to fight and if you win then you fight someone harder, and continue until you lose. The only way you are kicked out is if you lose your first round because that means you overestimated your abilities," I explain.

He runs his hand through his hair with a sigh. He stays quiet for several minutes before finally turning to me.

"I am getting a little tired of the cold," he mutters and I grin.

I sigh in relief when our pack border finally comes into view. A familiar red-brown Lycan dashes over from the border and keeps pace beside me.

"Alpha, it's good to have you back," she says and I bow my head.

"It's good to be back Amira. Can you let the pack know I am here and tell them to prepare some rooms for our guests?" I ask and she nods before running back to the pack.

I remember when she was a rogue and Shade and I had tested her speed. She was almost as fast as Shade so she became a messenger and runner for the pack.

I feel a hand on my shoulder and turn to see my mate. He gives me a smile and I look behind me at the Lycans of his pack.

Most are in their wolf form but a few are in their human form. Nearly all of his pack agreed to come, but those who refused stayed behind to keep what was left of the pack running.

Hailey and Maya are riding on Madox and Xena, while there are two kids riding on Vælius with excited grins. I shake my head in amusement and look back just as we cross the pack border.

I watch as Xavier sucks in a sharp breath and clench his jaw tightly. I feel a slight pain in my mind, but realize it isn't my pain.

"Are you alright?" I ask him and he nods.

"Yeah, this is one powerful pack," he mutters and wraps his arm around my waist.

I watch as the other wolves feel the same thing as they cross the border. The only ones who don't seem to be affected are the children.

I motion to Hailey and Maya and they jump off of the cats before helping the children off of my fox. I call my creatures over and stroke each of them until they purr.

"Domum," I command and they all run off, Madox and Xena to their stables and Vælius to the Mountain.

I lead the group of Lycans into the Main Clearing where we are greeted by my pack members. They all bow to me in respect and I give them a curt nod in return.

"These are Lycans looking to join our pack, they are to be treated with respect even though they are not official pack members. And this is Alpha Xavier Bloodmoon," I say, gesturing Xavier.

"Isn't he the Alpha of the rogue pack?" Derek mutters as he walks up to me.

"Yes," I tell him and he looks at me in confusion before turning to Hailey who gives him a mischievous grin.

"Alpha Xavier is my mate," I announce and hear cheers from around my pack.

"But what about Blake?" Somebody calls out and they all pause in confusion.

"We recently discovered that as Lycans, it is possible for us to have two mates. One is the mate of your wolf and the other is the mate of your Lycan. Blake was the mate of my wolf, but Alpha Xavier is the mate to my Lycan," I explain.

"Please help our new pack members get situated, we will hold the fights tomorrow." I leave Derek and Maya to deal with the other wolves and lead my mate to my house.

"Your pack loves you," Xavier suddenly says and my eyebrows furrow.

"Why do you sound so surprised?" Hailey snorts beside me and I raise an eyebrow at her.

"Think of the stories everyone has heard about you, your pack should hate you for being so cruel," she points out.

"Then why don't you?" She just shrugs.

"We're not sure really. Probably because you care about us so much, we understand that your cruelty is out of concern for our safety and ability to protect ourselves. It is nice to have an Alpha who cares so much," Jace interjects and I smile a little.

"That makes sense," Xavier says. We walk through the trees until we reach our house. It looks massive in the light and I hear Xavier let out a low whistle.

"This is your house?"

"Yeah. I live here with my Beta, Gamma, and pack doctors. Hailey here is a pack doctor and my brother Derek is the Beta. Jace is my Gamma. We wanted there to be a lot of room, and I wanted it to be bigger than Blake's," I chuckle and walk inside.

"I'm going to take a shower, can you two please behave?" I tell Hailey and Jace.

"Yes Alpha," Hailey says with a mock salute. I roll my eyes again and jog up to my room with Xavier behind me.

I push open the double doors to my bedroom and he mutters a curse under his breath.

"Is everything in this house excessively big and expensive?" He mutters and I shrug.

"I have more money than I know what to do with, plus my builders were bored so I gave them more things to do."

"You have your own builders?"

"Well yeah. The original Dark Forest Pack was my mother's, but it was destroyed so we had to rebuild it," I say.

"Looks like I have a lot to learn about you and your pack," he tells me and I chuckle.

"I could say the same for you. I know hardly anything about you."

"Well then let's get to know each other."

I growl as water is splashed into my face once again. This makes Xavier laugh and I  scoop up a handful of water before dumping it on his head.

He stops laughing and throws me a glare.

"Hey you started it!" I say. He rolls his eyes and I sit down beside him, staring at the river just a few feet away.

Xavier lays down in the grass and I shamelessly run my eyes over his sculpted torso. He puts his arms behind his head and closes his eyes.

I remember running my hands all over his chest earlier when he had climbed into the shower with me. I see all the scars that I had felt under my fingers and wonder how he got them.

"You know, most people would say it's rude to stare," he suddenly says and I shake my head in amusement.

"How did you get those scars?" I ask and he sighs before looking at me.

"Lots of fights with other rogues, Hunters, and packs. What about you? I've heard about this scar but no one knows where it came from," he asks, running his fingers over the claw marks on my face.

"My father. He did it right before I killed him," I say.

"You killed your own father?"

"Yes. He had started working with Hunters to capture Lycans and force them to fight. He captured me about a year ago, he is the reason my Lycan is so uncontrollable and destructive."

"What did he do?" He asks, sitting up.

"When I started shifting into my Lycan for the first time, he ordered ten full grown, and trained, male Lycans to attack me. Your Lycan develops based on your environment when you shift. Since mine was rage and pain, that is what my Lycan became," I sigh, my eyes burning red.

"After I shifted, I killed all of them. I tore them to pieces, and the worst part was that I actually enjoyed it." I bury my face in my hands and take deep breaths.

I feel Ira trying to surface as my anger grows from the memories. I feel Xavier's arm wrap around my waist and suddenly the anger vanishes.

I sit up in surprise and see him smirking.

"You had no idea I could do something like that, did you?" he asks and I shake my head.

"No. Well I need to shift and kill something before my Lycan tries to take over again," I mutter and strip off my sports bra and shorts.

I let myself shift and hear my bones crack and pop. I fall to all fours and shake out my fur.

Xavier pulls off his clothes before shifting into his own Lycan. I stare in amazement when I realize his Lycan is bigger than mine.

His fur is a dark silver that fades to black at his paws. I stand beside him and realize he is quite a bit bigger than me, my head reaches his shoulder.

How are you bigger than me? I ask him through a mind link and hear him chuckle.

Why do you sound nervous? He asks and I growl a little.

I'm not nervous, I'm confused. I have never seen a Lycan bigger than me, I say.

Well your parents may be very powerful Lycans, but you are still a fourth generation. I am a second, he tells me and my eyes widen.

How the hell are you a second generation Lycan?

Well my father lived to be over 300 years old and I am 134, he says and I lay down in shock.

You're older than my mother? I ask and he wrinkles his nose in disgust.

Well when you put it that way it sounds horrible. But at least I don't look 134, he says and I laugh.

True. So if you have been alive for that long, you must be very good in a fight.

"Okay so now that you all know the rules, let's have somebody come up to choose their opponent," I say and watch as Xavier volunteers himself.

"I'll fight your Beta," he says and I wave Derek down into the arena.

"Please don't kill my brother," I mutter to Xavier who smirks.

I step back and blow my whistle. The two circle each other and Derek lunges forward but Xavier easily sidesteps him.

Derek throws back his elbow and catches Xavier's shoulder, making him step forward to catch himself. He whips around, landing a punch to Derek's face and I wince at the resonating crack.

Derek holds his bleeding nose and throws a blind punch. Xavier catches his fist and twists his arm behind his back.

He delivers a solid blow to the side of his head and my brother falls face first into the dirt. I listen closely and breathe a sigh of relief when I hear his heartbeat.

"Can someone get him to the pack Doctor?" I ask and he is immediately rushed out of the arena.

"Well I am the only other person to fight that is better than my Beta," I sigh and Xavier frowns.

"I don't think that is going to work considering we can feel each other's pain," he says.

"Then we will just have to skip our fight then."

I move to stand next to him and turn to address my pack.

"Please welcome your new Alpha!"
