Chapter Ten: Kidnapping
"I want all warriors not patrolling to be training with Jace for the upcoming mission. Training will be in Lycan form as well as human form," I announce to the pack.
They all give me a nod, and the warriors head off to follow my orders.
I leave the main clearing and head to the hospital. Rosa and Hailey work there with one other pack doctor, Bryan, and half a dozen nurses.
While Shade has been captured, several of my pack members have been poisoned by silver, and I am the only one able to help them.
I walk into the room filled with warriors laying on medical tables. Hailey was working with a few nurses to help keep them alive, until I was able to come.
I grab a chair and pull it up to the nearest patient, a man. His forehead is drenched in sweat, his breathing shallow, and black lines run up and down his skin.
"Hailey! I need to do a blood transfusion on all of them," I call to her. She nods and sends one of the nurses to get the equipment.
Hailey comes over with the tubes and needles, and I lean back in my chair with a sigh.
"Are you sure your body will be able to handle the silver?" Hailey asks as she puts a needle in my arms.
"I am completely immune to the silver. I did it for Shade a while back, and I grew up having large amounts of silver injected into my blood. My body actually destroys the silver, or something like that," I tell her.
"Wow," she says impressed. I nod slowly and watch as she connects my arms to the man's through tubes.
I watch as clean red blood flows from my arm to the man's, and the dark, silver filled blood comes back into mine.
"This is going to take a while," I sigh looking around the room.

"Who do you think poisoned them?" Hailey asks me as we watch the recovering warriors.
"Blake probably, but I'm not sure how. Find out if they know anything, I need to talk to Derek," I say and Hailey nods.
I leave her to her patients and I head to my house. Derek is in the kitchen eating a sandwich.
"Derek, I need you to be a lookout near the prison and see if you can spot Shade," I tell him.
"Okay, what are you going to do?" He asks.
"I am going to oversee the training, and work out a bit myself," I explain. He nods and finishes his sandwich before heading out, an M16 across his back.
I grab an apple and eat it as I walk go the training center. Jace is instructing the warriors as they do a series of exercises.
I walk over to him and watch from beside him.
"We were just about to go outside to spar in both forms," he informs me.
"I need to use some energy anyway, I'll join in," I say as he orders all of them into the clearing nearby.
My pack is smaller than Blake's, but still very large. I have a smaller amount of warriors than he does, but mine are much stronger.
We have a massive clearing by the training center that we use for outdoor practice. Normally mats are used for sparring, but you work harder when it actually is a little painful to fall.
"We are going to be sparring in human form first. The Alpha and I will join in to help practice. Partner with someone whose skill is near your own," Jace calls out. They all nod and move to find their partners.
I find one of my best warriors, Maya Faraday, previously a rogue. During the very first attack by Blake, she was the only Lycan out of five to remain unscathed in the fight.
She heads over to me with a smile.
"Alpha, may I have the pleasure of sparring with you?" She asks with a bow of her head.
"Of course Maya," I say with a smile.
As we find an open space, I see Jace with Henry, a massive man of pure muscle at over 6 ft. He is one of my best warriors, but I know that Jace is better at hand to hand combat.
Maya faces me and puts her fists up in a defensive position. I copy her position and we slowly start circling each other.
I watch her eyes, that are locked with mine. She leaps forward suddenly and throws a punch at my head.
I catch her fist centimeters from my face, a smirk plastered across it. In a blur, I twist her hand and have it behind her back.
She winces as I twist it further, and hooks her leg around mine. I fall onto my back, but bring her down with me.
She lets out a yelp as she lands on her twisted arm. I hear her laugh and shake her head.
"Damn, you have a tight grip," she mutters as I let her go.
"So everyone says, I've also been told that I can punch and kick like nobody's business," I chuckle. She laughs and we get into position to go again.
Hey Raven, I'm going to connect someone to you through the mindlink, Derek suddenly tells me.
Okay, go ahead, I tell him and signal for Maya to stop for a moment.
I feel my mind connect to someone else.
Hello? You wanted to talk to me, I ask in a formal voice.
Raven its me, I'm trying to find a way out but I don't know how far I'll make it, Shade's voice fills my head.
Oh my god Shade! Are you hurt? What going on? I question rapidly.
I'm fine, at the moment sort of out of my element with the clothes I'm wearing but fine, she says.
Hold on, I'm hearing voices, she tells me as I'm about to respond. I keep quiet so as not to distract her.
What the hell is happening? I think in my head when she stays silent.
I can give you an idea of what she's feeling, Ira pipes in.
Thank you for being helpful for once, I say to my Lycan. She snorts and suddenly I can vaguely feel what Shade is feeling.
There is suddenly a severe pain in her stomach and arms and I gasp at the sudden feeling.
Oh my god, Shade! What happened? I yell through the link but it suddenly disconnects.
"Fuck!" I curse running a hand through my hair in frustration.
She is not dead, because I would have felt it. Shade have an odd connection that we would be able to feel if it broke.
I guess we'll see on the full moon.
*************
Hailey, go watch the prison with Jace and let me know when Shade is coming, I mindlink to Hailey and Jace.
I see her blonde wolf give me a nod before trotting off beside a larger, russet colored wolf.
Get ready, as soon as I give the signal, attack them. Once Shade is out safely, I want everyone to immediately return back, I order my warriors.
Raven, Shade is coming. I tried to mindlink her, and she was scared and didn't recognize my voice. They already did it, Hailey informs me.
That's alright, as I said, this is a kidnapping, not a rescue, I reply.
We are going in to check the cells for any Lycans, hope everything goes as planned, Jace mindlinks me.
Yeah, me too, I end the link as I see Shade get onto the stage with Blake.
She stands next to him, dried tears on her cheeks. Her eyes are glazed and she stares into oblivion.
I nod my head to my warriors in wolf form, and they start to creep forward, ever so slightly rustling the bushes.
Shade's head snaps towards us, curious for a moment before her eyes fill with fear. As my pack and I jump out, she hides behind Blake making me growl.
Blake growls and leaps for me as Shade's scream fill my ears. I dodge him and he falls off the stage. I glance at him to see him go to help his struggling pack members before turning to Shade.
I walk towards her but she backs up to the stage with another scream. As I near her, she cowers against the white wall.
"P-please, g-go away!" She yells, shaking in fear. I can't help the pang that hits my heart as I realize she actually felt this way once.
She tries to run, only to be cornered by several of my wolves. She helps and cries our for help, but everyone is too busy fighting.
Her eyes dart around and she manages to find an exit, barely escaping the hands of one of my warriors.
I take off after her as she runs into the woods, and scrambling up a tree. She brings knees to her chest and cries as I climb up after her.
I stand up next to her on the thick branch, and my eyes fill with sadness at her state. She slowly looks up at me, her silver and gold eyes round with fear.
"Please, leave me alone," she whispers as I bend down to bring my face nearer to hers.
To my surprise, her foot shoots out and takes out my legs. I lose my footing and fall off the branch.
I grab Shade's foot and bring her down with me. I land on my feet but she doesn't. I hear a sickening crack as she hits the forest floor, hard.
I watch her blink drowsily as Hailey and Jace run towards me with a Lycan I have never seen. I lift Shade into my arms bridal style and hear her whimper before her eyes shut and she slips into darkness.
I sigh and jerk my head telling Hailey and Jace to return to the pack. They give me a nod before running away with the new Lycan.
Return back now, try to take as many injured or dead back, I order my pack. I begin to run through Blake's territory, and am soon surrounded by my wolves.
I head straight for the pack hospital and lay Shade down in a private room. Rosa rushes in, closely followed by Bryan.
I see blood on my arms, and rush forward, tearing off Shade's shirt. Her stomach and arms are covered in bloody bandages, along with her head.
Rosa pushes past me and takes off the bandages, and all eyes widen in panic.
"Oh shit."
