Chapter Five: Relocation

"Hey Shade!" I sing through the door.

"What do you want Raven?" She snaps.

"Well never mind then, if you're going to be a bitch about it. I was only going to ask if you wanted to get out of there," I shrug, starting walk away.

I hear her run to the door and slam her fists on it.

"Oh my god, I'm sorry, please let me out of here!" She gasps.

"That's what I thought," I smirk. I take off the key hanging around my neck and unlock the door.

As soon as its open Shade bursts out, running down the stairs and out the door in a flash. I follow behind to see her laying on the grass.

"Finally, freedom!!!!" She moans, splaying her arms out. I chuckle and put the key back around mg neck.

"Oh stop being so dramatic, you were only in there for one week," I roll my eyes.

"Exactly! An entire week without shifting, and not being able to doing anything but eat, drink, sleep, and bathe. It was horrible!" She whines.

"You should just be happy I didn't put you in one of the silver cells," I snort.

"Oh yeah, you're are so nice, thank you so much for saving me from that awful prison," she says, sarcastically rolling her eyes.

"Shut up, I let you out because we are taking our lovely felines and moving them out of the mountain," I tell her.

"Oh, I though you just realized that you can't possibly be that cruel towards your own cousin," she sighs.

"Well if you are so upset with me why don't you just go back into your bedroom prison," I sneer. Her eyes widen and she quickly stands up, shaking her head furiously.

"Alright then, lets go. The stables and the training facility are fully built now. Velox is already hanging out in there, we just need to get her family," I say and start to walk into the forest.

"Does the pack know?" Shade asks as she walks directly behind me.

"I already told Derek, Luke, and Hailey, so yes," I shrug.

"Woah, when did you get that?" I hear her ask suddenly.

"Get what?"

"That gun," she says, surprise in her voice. I look behind me to see her pointing at the M16 across my back. There were other weapons too, but it was the newest.

The strap was around my body so I could easily access it. I grab it and look at it.

"While you were locked up, we got a shipment of weapons, mostly M16 guns, ammunition, and explosives, but there were plenty of others as well," I shrug.

"Damn, I want one," she laughs. I chuckle and we continue moving through the forest.

The mountain was about five miles from my house, but still on our territory. Shade and I reach the entrance to the cave in less than an hour.

We travel through the maze of tunnels and stop at the silver door. I open it and see my mother and Lily eating lunch.

"Hey, what are you two doing here?" Lily asks, taking another bite of her sandwhich.

"We built a new housing area for the creatures. We thought it would be better to keep them close by, and we also have an area to train the kits," Shade explains.

"Do you want our help?" My mother asks.

"Can you open up the gates?" I ask. She nods and goes over to the window, looking into a massive room.

I recognize it as the place I first saw all of the creatures. My mother hit several buttons on a control panel, and I heard an alarm go off as all the gates opened.

Roars, and chirps fill my ears as the animals walk into the room. Shade appears beside me, and I feel my lips tug up into a smile.

"I didn't realize how much I missed them until now," I sigh.

"It'll be nice to have them back," Shade says, and I just nod with a grin on my face.

***************

"Wow this is really nice," Shade says, looking around the Stables in awe.

"Garren is really good at what he does," I shrug. She just makes a small noise in agreement, and we walk past the stalls.

Each stall had one of our animals, and there was water, a food container, and a grass bottom. There was a simple door that could be opened from either side.

Zelda was with her kits in a stall, and they would stay there until they could be on their own fully. Shade and I put water in all of the stalls, and fresh meat we caught, before heading back to the house.

I remember something as Shade and I are eating lunch.

"Starting tonight, you are Alpha," I tell her as she takes a drink from her water. I bite my lip to stop from laughing when she chokes, spraying water everywhere.

"Excuse me?" She manages through her coughing fit.

"Tonight you are the Alpha," I repeat with an amused smile.

"Why? What about you?" She asks.

"I'm going on permanent border patrol," I sigh.

"What the hell does that mean?"

"It means that I won't be able to act as Alpha, because I am going to be too busy killing Blake's pack, one by one," I tell her.

"Are you kidding me? I can't let you do that, you are going to get yourself hurt," she snaps.

"What, you gonna stop me?" I snort.

"You are crazy Raven, I can't be the Alpha. They don't trust me like they trust you," she sighs.

"They'll learn, I know you can run a pack just as well as I can. Please Shade, I have to do this, I can't let anymore of my pack members get killed. The last attack left us with 53 casualties, 27 dead, and 9 missing," I sigh shaking my head, and running a hand through my hair.

"I know, and I'm really sorry about that. There is no way I can stop you, all I can do is tell you to be careful," she smiles sadly.

"I honestly thought you would fight more than that," I say in surprise.

"Oh don't worry, I'll be coming to check on you and help out," she smirks.

"Whatever, come on. We need to get ready," I say and we head outside.

We walk into the main clearing where most of my pack was already gathering.

"Listen up! I am going to be gone for a while, Shade is your new Alpha until then. I have given the order that any disrespect, or anyone who defys her orders, will be put in the silver cells for me to deal with when I get back," I announce.

Several people gasp when I said that Shade is the Alpha. I glare at them, and they quickly shut their mouths.

"Am I understood?" I growl.

"Yes Alpha Silver," they quickly reply.

I give them a quick nod and walk away, leaving Shade to speak to them. I turn back towards her as I enter the forest, and she throws a smile my way.

I return it before walking into the trees. The sun is starting to set, and the forest is turning dark.

I go until I reach the border of the territory. I take a deep breath before stepping over the border line.

I feel very different almost instantly, and immediately scale a tree. I stay by the border, and sit in a lower branch.

I hear footsteps, and realize a patrol is coming. I grab the M16 gun and focus on the approaching patrol.

I see a group of six wolves coming, led by Jackson. I curse lowly, and take a deep breath.

Do it you pussy, its him, or your pack, Ira growls at me.

I know, you're right, I reply.

I swallow hard, and aim the gun. When I find my target, I suck in a deep breath again.

"I'm sorry Jinx," I whisper, before letting out the breath, and pulling the trigger.
