taehyung swung backward, his clawed hands diving straight for the alpha's neck. the alpha swerved, however removing himself from taehyung's line of fire. taehyung knew that the alpha would not even think about giving up so easily. taehyung also knew that although a scrawny vampire prince, he wasn't a damsel in distress, and he didn't need some ego-filled werewolf saving the day. sorry jeongguk... taehyung can fight his own battles.

he extended his clawed hands and sunk them into the wolf's side. the wolf howled in pain, twisting around and striking down the flying vampire with his jaws. damn, the wolf's teeth were sharp. they pierced right through the skin of taehyung's arm. taehyung managed to shake him off, trying to fly up- shocked to find holes in his wings.

"you disgraceful mutt!" taehyung gasped, feeling another bite surge pain through his leg. he used his free leg to kick away the alpha. the wolf showed no difference now, still clinging onto the vampire like he was the wolf's last meal.

taehyung stared at his limb like it had detached and became lame. a smirk rose on his face only in the slightest form.

-focus change-

jeongguk charged his way through the crowd of fighting, he had his eyes locked on taehyung. things didn't always go to plan though.. the brown wolf from earlier tackled jeongguk to the floor. jeongguk's claws raked the floor as he went idle underneath the persistent werewolf on top of him.

the wolf clawed and clawed, but jeongguk pushed them off, his claws coming into contact with the soft underbelly of the wolf. the wolf whimpered, retracting and growling.

jeongguk just wanted to get to the center, where he should take his place beside taehyung and battle the alpha to the death. this was making him mad- so much so his eyes flared a dark blue as he tackled the brown wolf down, biting at it's muzzle until it surrendered.

now with that wolf accounted for, jeonguk went on his merry way. though, in his sight, there stood a looming vampire prince. taehyung had blood smeared on his hands, and underneath him the alpha remained almost lifeless. jeongguk scurried over, his voice seeming trapped within the containments of his throat. it seemed as if his vocal cords refused to vibrate, and he couldn't even bark.

"there he is. your alpha." taehyung retorted, his wings already crackling back into position, mending with his skin, which was flared red. the fighting around him never seized, more so roared louder than before. "kill him now before he stands up again, or all of this will be for nothing."

jeongguk had not thought this through. if he killed the alpha right then and there, then he would take the throne, as he rightfully should. was he ready for a commitment such as that? he stared up with taehyung with his wild eyes. the vampire had taken a beaten, he was battered beyond healing, though crusted around the edges of his wounds. he was already fixing himself, the advantage of being a mystical creature.

jeongguk decided to end it there. jeongguk lunged forward, digging the white daggers of his fangs into the side of the alpha's neck. the alpha had a spasm, his legs twitching and pulsing. taehyung turned away as blood leaked beneath the puncture wound, and the alpha's vigorous twitching stilled.

taehyung only turned back to witness the sudden blast of golden, shining light coming from jeongguk. it was like the werewolf's fur was now gold instead of black. taehyung could not quite capture the feeling, in such awe and- pridefulness. jeongguk's eyes shimmered golden for a moment.

the fighting seized, and the vampires drew backward from the fight. all of the mind controlled werewolves halted. now they bend down to bow for the new alpha. blue eyes shut all around as they worshipped the new pack leader. taehyung didn't quite get the gist of the whole, werewolf leadership thing, but he respectfully observed.

jeongguk barked, loud and proud, and the werewolves departed from the room as quick as they came in there.

all left was: a bloodied battlefield, claws and fur, and the dead. jeongguk shifted back into his human form, the sound of bone cracking becoming far too familiar. the vampire king handed him a coat, which he buttoned up- modesty was valued in the vampire kingdom.

"i want to welcome you, new alpha." started the vampire king, who looked a little dizzy. taehyung guessed it was because of the lack of blood recently, though it was all around them. the urge to drink blood was high always, and all of the heady scents must have made the king's head hurt.

"i think you will do much better than the previous alpha. we've had many of his kind before him, and he seems to be the only one who misunderstood our quarrels." the king laughed, "and i think fancying my son may diffuse the tensions."

taehyung groaned, guess he had momentarily forgotten about the strangely intimate encounters they've had. "there will be no mixes between vampires or werewolves. it's strictly inappropriate and vile." the king hissed like a feral cat.

taehyung bit his tongue.

"of course sir." jeongguk said meekly. "i want to keep all business as professional as possible."

the king seemed pleased with the new alpha's answer. "very well. taehyung and i will be off now, come along." he ordered his son. taehyung turned around, his hair dancing in the cold air of the room.

"just a minute, father. i'll be out soon. you go along. i've got to speak with jeongguk first. it's important." he sputtered out, his father giving a skeptical glance before he left.

"right then, suppose i'll be working along side you now." jeongguk said aloud, and taehyung nodded. it was weird, jeongguk was suddenly a higher rank than he was. and he had been waiting his whole life to become a prince..

"i suppose you will be."

"what did you want to speak to me about?"

taehyung's lips popped open as if an instinct. "nothing. just a thank-you for helping me, though i single handedly stunned the alpha, and escaped by my lonesome. your army did help fend off the other werewolves, leading me to do so-"

jeongguk blocked his speech, pulling the vampire into a hug. taehyung made a noise of disapproval, his hands hesitantly patting jeongguk's back.

"you're not to scare me like that again." jeongguk scolded like an angered parent.

"i'll try to stay out of your way, therefore scaring you won't have the chance to occur. farewell, new alpha. i wish you the best of luck." and then, the vampire flashed away and out of the alpha's den.

jeongguk sighed. what was he going to do?
