Chapter 5

I am a coward. A person who will never step for herself or say it's wrong.

When he told me to be out in three minutes I just nodded and got in my room.

"What does he means, fitting? You did not make a suit for him, did you?" Mia attacked me second doors closed.
"No," I look at Freya, she looked at me with the same curious eyes as Mia, "but I was meant to."

I looked at the floor.
"When Kassian ordered me to make him a suit he also told me that I have to make the suit for his son, but he was already left," I shrugged my shoulders wishing to jump from the window. All sleep I was meant to have tonight will go into the dust. Apparently, I have another suit to make.

"Sorry girls, but I have to go," I looked at them both and smiled, "besides I will have a bed on the right," and laughed.
"Not fair," they yelled. I got out of the room and I am sure I heard pillow hitting doors. I laughed even harder.

"What is so funny?" Uriah asked and I stopped immediately.
"Oh, nothing. I called dibs on the bed," I shrugged my shoulders and turned around, "so where do we have to go?"
"This way," he showed at the right and we started walking, "what is dibs after all?"

"You grew up in the hole," I said surprised, not believing he does not know what dibs is.
"I grew up in the hole. It is some campus," he said calmly.
"That was not nice," I said now feeling guilty for mentioning it in the first place.
"Dibs is reserving something for yourself," I looked at him, his face completely calm, blue eyes looking forward, eyebrows down looking at the ground, his whole body was so strong that I believed he did grow in the war camp. So he is the one without parent love. Just like me.

"Interesting," he said finally not looking at me.
"It is," I nodded and he slowed down stopping next to some doors.
He opened doors and showed me to enter. I did as he wanted and turned around. A big white room with three disks on the marble floor around was everything we needed for tailoring. In here was cloth we brought in here.
"Remembered how we came here?" He asked stepping on one disk. I noticed he is wearing big black shoes with untied zips.
"Um, actually I do not," I took what I needed from the table and stepped closer to him.
"Okay, hands up," I put my notebook on the ground close to his feet and started.
"Two right turns and straight and then left," he said.
"Um?" I asked measuring his hands.
"How we came here," he added and I nodded.
"Okay," I stepped behind his back and measured.

Can this man be taller? I had to step on my fingers and even then I could not completely measure him.
"I feel you have some problems," he said after I let out a sharp exhale.
"Yes, you are too tall," I said angrily.
"Or you are too low," he added but kneeled to measure him.

"Thank you," I said ignoring his insult. I was tall. Around six feet. And he was taller.

He was on his knees hands up and completely unmovable. Like a statue. I moved my fingers trying to note everything. I think I will have something good.

"You can stand up," I lifted the notebook from the ground noting his high and length.

I did not measure him completely but I draw a doll focusing on the sketch.

I imagined a black suit with deep blue pieces on the shoulders. Maybe the most on the shoulders and as it fell little by little it would be less and less. On the sleeves a simple silver buttons and the suit. A sword holder decorated with the same blue crystals and simple black pants. Well, there was nothing simple with those long legs.

"..finish," I heard something.
"What," I asked still drawing the pants.

So if I start with a ten on the shoulder maybe three lines until I start to change numbers. Then a little uneven moving, so around eight, nine, maximum.

"Will you finish measuring?"
"Mhm, do not interrupt, math," so the next line could have six, uneven naturally, and little by little.

So maybe around seventy crystals just for a jacket. I do not know how much for a holder, that is on the jeweller.

"Umh. I will need around seventy dark blue crystals for a jacket. Now let's finish," I turned to him taking a meter.

He looked at me with a strange face. Eyes widened and brows low, little wrinkles around eyes seemed visible, lips somewhere between a smile and angry face.

"What," I asked stepping in front of him.
"That seems remarkable," he said finally and I smiled.
"I know," I smiled and kneeled to finish with this.

He was nice. His father was a nightmare, but what did I know. He could be the same just under layers of acting. I can not trust him. I noted that and asked him.
"Do you have some wish," I put the meter back in its place and turned?
"Now you remembered asking," he smiled but added, "no. Just to be wearable."

He nodded at his words and I turned.

I draw a fast dark bluebird with the same crystals as on his jacket. It was a sparrow in the middle of flying. His wings are widespread every feather enable and his thin legs under him, a small beak opened.

"Your date? Is it younger or older?" I asked adding the finishing details.
"I do not know? Same as me, I suppose," I heard his confused voice.
"Does not matter. It will work."

I put the pen down.
"I need to see a jeweller," I said.
"Why," he asked.
"I have a broch for your date. He has to make it," I said looking at him.
"A broch. I did not know that is your job," he said raising an eyebrow.
"I have an idea. It will go nicely," I shrugged my shoulders looking at him.

"I will send him in here," he said turning.

As he wanted to get out, doors opened and in the room stepped his father. Kassian.

"Son, you are done here?" He asked looking at me. Chills run down my spine from his look. I lowered my head.
"Sir," I whispered looking down at the marble. The nice and calm atmosphere I had with Uriah disappeared with his father.

"I was just going," he said and his voice cooled too.
"Good. The butler came back. Go check everything,"
I did not hear him saying the answer but he got out.

From my nervose, I walked down to his suit and put it out of the bag.
"Sir, this is the one," I first put out a shirt, a simple white, and black pants. They were meant to have holders but that will be added tomorrow and the jacket that was supposed to have black diamonds. All black, like his soul.

"How nice of you," he took the shirt and pants purposely scratching my arm. I tried not to flinch but I failed. His nail stabbed me in the palm and I moved my hand. The pants fell on the ground.

I squatted to pick them up and I heard his chuckle. That damn person. Handing him the suit I tried not to show that effect on me.

I sat on the chair on the other side of the room looking at the picture of Uriah's suit. It will be nice, and detail for a woman too. I smiled and added another detail to his suit. There. A little letter is almost hidden in the crystals.

"This seems a little too big," Kassian said looking at his shirt.
I stood up, taking the buttons meant to go all the way up.
"It is not finished yet," I said putting the buttons and closing the shirt.
"I hope it's that way," he whispered into my ear and I cooled down.

I turned to take a jacket helping him to get it on. He watched at me in the mirror as I put one ribbon out and cut it. It looked disgusting and dark. I just had to have hope for my vision.

"It is horrible," he said suddenly.
I stopped. I looked at my hands, shaking.
"If you do not like it, sir, you should not have chosen me," I corrected his collar. Took a thin black bow tie.

"Besides it is not over yet. The diamonds will be the best part," I said tying the tie.

"For your best, I hope so," he repeated and took one wisp of my hair. The tie is not even but I stepped back as fastest I could. I could smell his scent on my hair.

"Okay then, you will have access to the diamonds from tonight to the morning," he took off the jacket and a tie, "and Imrie, I hope none will be missing," He added before entering the wardrobe again.

I let out a strong exhale.

Just let me live through the night. I will have the whole day to finish Uriah's suit and almost a whole day after that. I will have time.

He exited the room throwing the suit on the table. He did not even look at me.

"Why don't you add more flowers at the bottom," Mrs Darin complained for the hundredth time and I exhaled.
"You wouldn't be able to move," I repeated straightening the back.
"But I want it," she sounded like a little child. Little brat.
"I will see what I can do," I said already knowing I won't add anything. I will iron it a bit differently. She will not see a difference.
"But I have to admit. It is nice," she turned on the side to see herself from a profile.

I straightened it again.
This is a very nice dress. A dress with big thin straps and a lot of golden flowers at the bottom seemed alive. But that flower was made from six smaller ones all made into one big, and then he was put on the dress with a golden string, everything placed on the deep black, rich material.

I exhaled as I looked at Mia, on another side. She was making finishing details for the dress.

"Yes, I think that will be enough," I said wanting her to finally leave.

My launch waited for me for forty minutes and I was starving. I wanted to taste sandwiches. I helped her to get out of the dress and I lied it over a closet's door.

"I can not believe," Freya formed with her lips and I nodded. Mrs Darin exited the wardrobe in small black pants and a jumper.

Without any word, she exited the room and I finally sat down.
"I am starving," I said tasting the sandwich. Oh, it is so good. I did not eat a better sandwich.

"I believe, I ate three of them," Freya added and I looked at her.

"Maybe I should drink something," I started suddenly, drawing lines on the table, "to start drinking. I have to make diamonds on the jacket. There is no sleep for me," I closed my eyes and wished I could get little sleep.

"Just another day and everything is over," Mia added and Freya agreed.
"Dear God," someone said and I opened my eyes.

I looked around watching around this room. We took piles and piles of materials and tinny things, making it look like a circus.
"I know, but it can be better," I said closing my eyes again. I need a break.
"Imrie," Mia hissed fastly.
"I can not, please," I said to her.
"Imrie get up now," someone dragged me up and I looked at her.
"What?" I asked with my mouth full.
She showed with her eyes and there was Uriah on the doors.

Lovely.
"Sir," I lowered my head trying to find a plate to put down the sandwich.
"Imrie, Mia and Freya. Nice decoration." He looked around and I punched Mia.
She punched me too.

"I came to take you to make diamonds." I let out a sharp exhale and nodded.
"Just to take the suit," I took a big clear bag and put it over my hand.
"Girls see you in the morning," I kissed them both and followed him out.

"So you all seem like the room," he started.
"It is nice," I added and looked down.
"Good. It watches on the Marian forest." He nodded in that direction and I smiled.
"Is not that the forest with a deep scary monster?" I asked remembering the tales.
"I can say I did not see any," he closed his eyes punching himself on the chest. I had to laugh at his position.
"But I have seen monsters entering the forest," his face transformed into a serious one and I looked at him.

I could never believe that there was some monster, but he was talking about people. Did he talk about people with power or just crazy people?

"I do not know," I whispered for myself looking at the floor. He could be both.
