Chapter 5: Getting to Know You

Chapter 5: Getting To Know You

Father, I'm sorry that I disappeared the day I left to Snowfall Village, I got a hint form some of the villagers that a werewolf camp was close by, I thought I'd check it out. Will write to you as soon as I can.

Your son,
Jack

Henry reread the letter he got form his son over a hundred times. He just didn't fully believe what he was reading. "You need to stop reading it, you're not going to know where he is." He heard next to him as he looked to see Elizabeth in his bed, the blanket covering her up, she tried to keep herself covered up as much as she could when he was around, it made him smile knowing that just by a say of a word, she could have that blanket removed. He put the note down, "I understand that, but I just didn't think he'd go this..." He sighed, "You sure you didn't see him in the village?" He asked making Elizabeth nod, "You think I could hide that from you if I did? You would know I was lying you bastard." She said as Henry grabbed her chin pulling her close to him.

She hated him, she hated him with all her bones in her body and that's what turned him on the most. "I do love it when you call me that. Say it again." He commanded making her glare, "Bastard." She hissed as he kissed her again moving his hands down her arm ready for round two but he knew he didn't have time. He stopped kissing her as he moved away, "I would love to f*ck you again Beth but I have matters to attend too, I'll be back soon." Henry said as he got out of bed and put on his pants before he left Elizabeth alone in his room.

She moved her knees to her chine as she felt the tears go down her face. She looked at the half moon, "Where ever you are Jack, I hope you're safe. And Elsa, I hope you found a way to learn magic, I hope you didn't turn mortal..." Elizabeth gave her pray before she started to lay down and feel her eyes close, it was another night of tears in her eyes as she drifted into a dreamless sleep.

***

Jack sat on the sideline watching Elsa and Kristoff fight, it was almost like watching them dance as Elsa stepped left swinging her sword as Kristoff turned quickly catching the sword with his. He turned his body more facing her, she pushed him back giving herself more distance before she strikes again. Watching Elsa closer, Jack felt like she's grown over the past three weeks, three weeks of trying to teach her to block out the glaze form his father and her swordsmanship was also improving. She's actually quicker at learning then Jack thought she was going to be, which scared him... He knew she was powerful and smart but this is the fastest anyone has ever learn to block their mind.

He couldn't feel her mind anymore since she figured out how to put the wall up which was good but it also worried him. Elizabeth told him it took her almost five years to learn how to put her wall up, how is it that a twenty-one year old is learning all this magic without a teacher? How is she so powerful? That's what scared Jack, if Elsa wanted too, she could do anything, and the feeling of revenge she had against his father, was strong. What if the taste of blood was to much for her and she wanted more? She was almost like one of the four horses of the apocalypse.

Jack heard a grunt breaking him from his thoughts as he looked to see Kristoff on the ground and Elsa point the sword at him Jack raised an eyebrow as he saw the look on Elsa's face, like a knight that defeated a King. The feelings she was feeling were strong, she was proud of herself for defending Kristoff, and she was also feeling powerful. "You're dead." She mocked making Kristoff laugh as Elsa helped him up. "Damn Elsa... Have you been practicing without me?" He asked making her laugh as she looked at Jack. He was lending on one of the poles that she tried Artemis on with a smirk on his face making Elsa blush a little as she turned away from him. It was hard not to stare at Jack, to feel her crush for him grow more into liking then a crush. She wondered if Jack knew she liked him, could he feel that? Could he feel her heart beat faster everytime he smiled at her or that the best parts of her day are when they are in her room alone?

But she couldn't think about that right now, she can't have romance in her life right now. In just a few days, they would be on the road after the Vampire King, to save her mother. That's what matters. But she still wondered if Jack had feelings for her. But how could he though, she made him into a her familiar, she took away his free will, she beat in his eyes, she was a monster. The day she made Jack her familiar will haunt her until the days she breaks this curse. But... Half of her didn't want that day to come because she didn't want Jack to leave her but... She couldn't be selfish. She knew Jack was starting to trust her more and she was starting to trust him more too, she even thinks her father was warming up to him being around the house.

The only one who wasn't up to have Jack around was Kristoff, those two just didn't get along for some reason. "We better be getting home, it's going to get dark soon." Kristoff said as he started to walk over to Jack who was starting to pet Artemis' nose. Jack locked eyes with Kristoff, both of them glaring at each other before Kristoff broke off and went to his horse. "I'll see you both at home." He says as he rides off making Elsa sigh, what is the deal with those two? She walked over to Jack as he placed her hand on Artemis' neck making Jack looked over at her. "What is the deal with you and Kristoff?" Elsa asked making Jack raise an eyebrow, "What do you mean?" He asked as he started to untie Artemis.

"Well, you two don't talk to each other and when you do, you two are shooting daggers at each other." She said making Jack laugh. Jack couldn't understand how Elsa didn't scene that Kristoff was a supernatural, but yet again, Jack didn't know until he was up close. He still didn't know what Kristoff was. He didn't smell like a werewolf, but his aura wasn't shining off of him like a witch. And he knew damn well he wasn't a vampire. "There's nothing going on, men just don't talk to each okay? Everything is fine dearie." Jack says as he climbs on Artemis giving Elsa his hand, "Are you ready to go home? Maybe train some more after dinner?" He ask making Elsa smile as she took Jack's hand as he raise her up in front of him. "Well this is new, are you going to actually let me take lead of my horse?" Elsa asked as she pet Artemis' mane.

For the last three weeks, Jack has been having Elsa sit behind him, which was hard for him, having her hands wrapped around him, her head on his back, it was hard to control himself. The worse part, was feeling her heartbeat on his back, it made him hungry for her blood which he was trying control himself to not have. "I... I thought we could switch things up." Jack said, not wanting to tell her that she drive him crazy. "But I'm still taking the lead." Jack said as he grabbed the rail. "Oh really now?" Elsa cooed as she put her hand on top of Jack's making him sigh a bit, this might be a bad idea.

"Let's... Just go home." Jack quickly said as he told Artemis to ride and he listen as he started to ride off. Elsa giggled a little as Artemis started to take them home. The more they moved, the more Elsa's whole body started to feel warm, having Jack's body rub on hers... She didn't know what to do or say. She also liked how he smelled, a mixed of wood and mint, it remind her of the forest. The ride wasn't any easier for Jack either with his arms rubbing on her side and sometimes her leg. Then he felt Elsa's emotion, she was embarrassed and excited at the same time, she was enjoying this ride as much as he was. "Do you ever feel like it's dangerous being so close to me like this?" Elsa ask as Jack look down at her, even though he couldn't see her face, he knew she was looking down at her horse.

"Why would it be dangerous? We've been close before." Jack said slowing Artemis down a bit, he didn't want this ride to end. "I mean... You've tasted my blood." "Aye I have." He says remember how sweet her blood tasted, he was making his mouth water. "Do you still crave it?" she asked and she saw Jack's hand tighten on the rail, maybe she shouldn't of asked. "I do... I crave it every day. Just that small taste..." Jack started to say but he didn't know if he wanted to continue, he didn't want to scare her. "What?" She asked, she wanted to know now, the curious was killing her. Jack took a deep breath, "Your blood, is the best I've ever had. And I want to taste it again... So badly." He says making Elsa tense up, she knew he couldn't have her blood without her saying the okay, but it still worried her.

"But... I won't do it. I won't drink form you. I would never do something that would hurt you." Jack add making her turn her head to face him to see him looking down at her. She could feel his heart beat on her back, "Is it because you're my familiar?" She asked only to give her a smile so sincere it make her breath catch in her throat, "No, It's not because of that." Jack said as he let go of the railing with on hand and placed it on her cheek. It was like she was frozen, just looking into his dark ocean blue eyes. "I just can't stand the thought of hurting you Elsa." He said making her sigh a little. Jack felt a new urge that he never felt before, he wanted to kiss her. He wanted to feel her lips on his again but this time, he didn't want it to be a force.

He saw her close her eyes and he took it as a sign that she wanted him to kiss her too. He started to move closer, his lips inches from her until her felt a tug making him look up and Elsa to turn back, forgetting she was riding Artemis. Artemis stopped right at Elsa's house, they were in the back by Artemis' stall. "Oh, we're home..." Elsa said as she felt Jack move away form her jumping off of Artemis. She looked down at him to have his hands out ready to catch her. She sighed, the moment was over, she thought Jack was going to kiss her... But maybe she was just dreaming it would happen. She lowered herself down into Jack's arms as he put her on the ground. "I'll put Artemis in his stall for you" Jack said as he held on the rails but Elsa shook her head, "No, I'll do it. Why don't you help Anna make dinner?" She asked.

Jack could feel her sadness, her hurt and it killed him seeing her hurt knowing he did it. He wanted to stay, but he just couldn't get the guts to do it. So he nodded his head and started to walk inside, leaving Elsa alone with her thoughts.

***

"With these words, I give you the power to speak." Elsa whispers as she touched Artemis letting him talk. "What's wrong?" He asked as she started to pull him into his stall. "I thought... I just thought he would of you know... kiss me." She said as she grabs a brush and started to brush Artemis' mane. "How do you know he didn't want to? He couldn't do it here where your father or sister could see." He said as he lowered his head so Elsa could brush his ears. Elsa shook her head, "No, he didn't want to. Right now, we're familiar and master... nothing else." She stopped brushing Artemis making him look over at her to see Elsa hugging herself while she started to shake form tears coming down her face.

"I'm just a blood bank to him... He tasted my blood once and now... That's all he must think about..." Elsa cried trying to cover her face making Artemis move his head to her putting his nose on her face making her laugh a little, tears still coming down her face. "I'm sorry, I'm crying over something so stupid." She aid with a small hurt giggle. Artemis shook his head, "Love is not stupid, but it dose make you do stupid things." He said making Elsa raise an eyebrow, "I'm not in love with Jack..." She said but Artemis just gave her a look, a look she knew very well.

But she wasn't going to admit that her horse was right, "You know for a horse, you are very wise." She says as she started to brush him again. "You should let me talk more, I have a load of wisdom to give you." He said making her laugh, "We'll see."

***

Jack watched from the window as Elsa brushed Artemis, she did this every night. "You look like a creeper just watching her you know." Jack heard behind him to see Anna walking up to him. "I was just..." He couldn't tell her he had to watch her. "Never mind, I came in here to help with dinner." Jack said making Anna laugh, "Well thank you but I already got everything done, now we're just waiting for Elsa to finish her talk with Artemis." She said as she looked out the window with Jack. "What do you think their talking about?" Jack asked making Anna shrug, "I'm not sure, but she always talks to Artemis if she has a problem. Well Artemis and me."

"Well I can see why she talks to you, you can answer her back, you can help her. Why talk to her horse?" He ask making Anna laugh. Jack looked over at her making her stop, "Oh you don't know? Elsa can make animals talk." She said making Jack's eyes widen, "Really?" He asked looking back at Elsa. She was holding her body her head down, was she crying? Please don't be crying... Jack thought. "I didn't know there was a spell for that." Jack said. "You haven't learned that spell yet?" Anna asked making Jack shake his head as he saw Kristoff walk in the stables with some hay for Artemis. Now he was talking to Elsa who was just nodding her head.

Jack looked over at Anna to see her staring at Kristoff, a dazed off look on her face. He couldn't help but laugh a little, "Now whose the creeper?" He asked making Anna teases up as she looked  at Jack, her cheeks red. "You can't tell him..." She whisper making Jack smile, "I won't tell a soul." He says as he saw Elsa and Kristoff walking back to the house. Jack started to walk out of the kitchen as he was not needed but stopped, "You know, I have a feeling he likes you too." Jack said making Anna turned to him, "It wouldn't hurt to ask." He says as he walked away from Anna to see Elsa and Kristoff walk in, behind them was Arther.

He looked tried and Jack could tell he was upset. "Welcome home Papa." Anna says as she walked over to him and kissed him on the cheek. He gave her a weak smile as he hugged Anna as he looked at Elsa letting her know he needed her too. Elsa smiled as she walked over to him and joined the hug as Kristoff walked over to me. "Why is Arther upset?" Jack asked as Kristoff grabbed a glass of water. "It's Arther and his late wife's anniversary." Kristoff said making Jack look back at the family. "They would of been married for thirty years today." He added making Jack tighten his fist, this family could of been whole, and loved if his father didn't take Elizabeth away from them. "When did she pass way?" Jack asked seeing what Kristoff would say. "She didn't... The Vampire King took her. But it most likely she is dead." He said making Jack sigh, if only he knew. Elsa could feel eyes on her as she looked over to see Jack looking at her, he looked upset making her wonder what he was taking.

Arther pulled back making Elsa look back at her father to feel him place a hand on her and Anna's cheek. Arther could Elizabeth in both of his daughters which hurt him but also made him feel glade he still had a piece of her with him. "I made your favorite dinner Papa." Anna said as she grabbed her father's hand and took him to the kitchen leaving Elsa alone in the living room. Jack walked over to her feeling her sadness again. "Are you okay?" He asked as she wrapped her arms around her again. "I'm fine." she whispers but Jack could tell she wasn't. "In a few days, my father won't cried on his anniversary. He can celebrate with my mother again." She said and turned to Jack, "And it's thanks to you." She add with a smile making Jack's heart skip a beat.

She placed her hand on his arm, now his heart was doing cartwheels in his chest. "After dinner, we'll do some more training right?" She asked making him nod, it was hard to find the words around her. She couldn't help but giggle as she let go of him and walked into the kitchen. Jack finally let out his breath and moved his hand through his hair, why was this getting so hard to be around her? He watched as the family sat down to eat and he decided to leave them alone, to let them have this night. He started to walk to the door when he heard someone call out his name. He turned his head to see Elsa looking at him, "You're not going to join us?" She asked. God ever bone in his body wanted to stay, to sit next to her but... She needed this time with her father, not with him.

So he put on a fake smile, "I'll be back soon. I just need to get some fresh air." He says making Elsa frown a little, she knew he was going to get blood, why did that make her jealous? Before she could say anything, Jack opened the door and left. But he didn't go far, he stayed close to the house even though he knew he should of went and got some blood, he couldn't stay far from Elsa. Maybe he'd just drink from a squirrel or something to hold him over until later. But right now, he was just enjoying the night air, thinking about his next lesson he was going to train Elsa.

This one he was worried about, everyone in his family could do this mind trick. To trick the mind into thinking they are somewhere else. Or to make them believe that their dreams are coming true. This trick was going to be hard for Elsa to stop... He didn't even know how to stop it but... He knew he father would use it against her. He seen his father make a man kill his family just for getting in his way on accident, image what he would do to Elsa... He couldn't think about it without getting upset. Jack looked up at the sky, "Mother... How am I going to help her?" Jack asked the moon. He always believed that Jack's mother's soul was the moon, she was the reason he loved the night sky and the stars.

"What are you doing out here?" Jack heard as he turned to see Kristoff walking over to him. "I just needed some fresh air." Jack said shuffling his feet hoping he didn't hear anything. Kristoff reached him and started to sit on the ground making Jack look down at him. "I think you should have a seat." He said making Jack slide down to join him. They both sit in silence for awhile, just listening to the wind blow and the animals around them. "I thought you would of went into town to eat." Kristoff said but Jack didn't say anything. "I mean, I'm guessing Elsa won't let you bite her, and if you even try to bite Anna I'd have to kill her." He added making Jack growl. "What is your problem with me mate? What have I done to you?" Jack asked.

Jack was ready for him to start a fight with him, to yell but... He didn't. He just took a deep breath and Jack could feel him being calm meaning he didn't have to use his powers to calm him. "It's not you I have a problem with, it's just your kind. You hurt people... I just don't want that to happen to this family, they've already been through enough." Kristoff said making Jack look at him but Kristoff wasn't looking anywhere but up. "I don't want to hurt Elsa or anyone. I..." did he want to tell him? Should he? "You're her familiar." Kristoff said finally looking at Jack. Jack felt his eyes widen, "How..." "It wasn't hard to figure it out, you're always around her, you can't be away from her for to long. I think the longest I've seen you away from Elsa is maybe an hour."

Jack couldn't help but laugh, "You're right... But even if I wasn't her familiar... I don't think I could stay away from her. There's just something about her that makes me want to stay close..." Jack said as he felt a hand on his shoulder, "Man... I thought I had it bad but you... You are ten times worse." Kristoff said with a laugh making Jack confused, "What are you talking about?" He asked as Kristoff stood up and stretch. "Sorry mate, but I can't tell you, because you won't want to believe it. So I'll just wait until you come to terms with yourself." He says as he starts to walk to the house. He stops as he reaches the door and turns to see Jack standing up, "Hey." Kristoff say making Jack look back at him. "You're not so bad for a vampire." He says making Jack smile, "And you're not so bad yourself." Jack say as he starts to walk into the small woods behind their house, "Whatever you are." He says to himself before he runs off.
