Josie Ahn feels as though she's on the verge of falling apart.

Hailed as the perfect daughter, Josie was put on a higher pedastal while her twin brother, Kai, was the deadbeat out of the pair and nothing but trouble. From the moment the two had been born, the favoritism towards Josie had already been made. Josie was expected to become someone special, leaving Wiskayok behind to become important. But as Josie was getting older, she was already crumbling under the pressure. Josie was walking a tightrope and one final push was going to send her right over the edge, plunging straight into the darkness she had been trying so hard to run away from. 

The only light in her life seems to be Lottie Matthews, her team mate on the girls' soccer team and her best friend. Josie could hardly believe that the beautiful rich girl even harbored an interest in her. But nevertheless, they were as thick as thieves - growing close quickly. The both of them lived similar lives and had a mountain of expectations on their shoulders... and as they'd soon learn, harbored similar secrets.

Therese Dupont and Malakai Ahn are the it couple of Wiskayok High.

Therese was born from old money, never having to worry about a thing. She was able to buy whatever she wanted, getting spoiled rotten by her parents. They gave her everything but love and attention, even despite all the accomplishments she had. She was at the top of all her classes and she was on the soccer team. But it wasn't enough for them. That's where Kai came in. The troubled boy seemingly had no chance with Wiskayok's Princess but they worked perfectly. Both of them were ignored by their parents and both of them were hated by most of the school, causing the two to quickly form a relationship that was as strong as ever. 

But Therese didn't know that Kai sold drugs on the side to make money, often dealing to the one girl Therese despised: Nat Scatorccio. Kai needed some way to make money and you'd be surprised over just how many people in the small quaint town needed some sort of drug to get through the day. Therese had no clue that Kai and Nat were somewhat close, often targeting the dirty blonde (and pretty much anyone she came across) to bully and belittle her. She saw Natalie as being beneath her yet... she found herself thinking about her more times than she cared to admit. She thought about her more than her own boyfriend who she should love and she did, even if she was beginning to doubt if her love for him was a romantic or platonic one.

Sabrina Lee was determined to make it into heaven.

Losing both parents in a car accident at a young age, she'd move in with her cousin, Laura Lee, and her family. And as a result, Sabrina was indoctrinated in the ways of the Lord. For as long as Sabrina could remember, all she knew was the Lord, the Bible, and to fear God no matter what. She constantly walked a tight rope, even despite the fact that it caused her classmates to ostracize her. She only had Laura Lee as her close friend and family, and it seemed as though it'd always be that way.

But then she'd join the soccer team with her cousin, finally feeling a sense of belonging. Sabrina's main priorities were God and soccer, and it'd seem as though that's how it'd remain. But becoming partners with the troublemaking Kai, the two polar opposites are suddenly in close proximity with each other all the time. And as a result, forbidden feelings begin to rise to the surface - feelings that God would frown upon on but Sabrina couldn't deny. Feelings that weren't one sided in the slightest.

When the girls' team wins the chance to go to nationals, the trip to the big city was supposed to be the best moment of their lives. Instead, they collide straight into what would be their worst nightmare for what would be nineteen long months inside the wilderness.
