It's been one year since your best friend Emma, moved to New York. You two use to spend every holiday together, especially Christmas. Now... it just feels different.

Your parents were downstairs getting dinner ready. You were in your room, just finishing wrapping your gift to Emma. You had plans on mailing her present to her tomorrow morning. You finished sticking the bow, then made your way down to the dining room for dinner.

As you walked in, you noticed that there was extra placemats and chairs. You were a bit confused, "Who's coming over?"

Just after you ask that, the doorbell rang.

You walked to the door as did your parents and as soon as you opened it, a smile grew so big that it was impossible for it to go away.

"Merry Christmas!" It was Emma. You immediately embraced her in a hug and she hugged back.

"What are you doing here?" You let Emma and her mom in.

"We have Christmas together every year and you think me moving to New York was gonna stop that?" She chuckled.

You slung your arm around her shoulders and began to walk to the dining room for dinner together.
