It was the middle school dance and Emma has been feeling this type of way about you for awhile now.

You had decided you would not go with a date this dance. You would just go with your friends as a group. Emma wasn't apart of this group though, she had her own little one but you two still managed to be friends even though you guys ran with different crowds.

You and some of your buddies were sitting at a table, laughing and drinking whatever what was in those red cups. Every once in while though, you would look around and try to spot emma. Each time, she wasn't there. You're friends soon decided to hit the dance floor. They begged you to join and so you finally caved in. Just as you stood up, there she was. Emma was walking into the school gym.

As you began to walk over to her, she found a way to her friends. So you thought you would surprise her. Once you approached her, you placed your hand on her waist and swung her around in your direction.

"Jesus, y/n! You scared me!" She hit your arm.

"Wanna dance!" You yelled above the music.

Emma took your hand and dragged you to the dance floor.

"Are you sure they're just friends?" Emma's friend ask a fellow friend as they watched you and her on the dance floor.

"Positive." One of them reassured the rest.

"I don't know." The other shook their head, "Friends don't dance with each other that way."
