Back in Starset City, before Riku and Rozu and everyone else left, Riku, Rozu, and some other unknown people were walking towards the large building that they had been to so many times, most of them having blood stains on them.

Riku: Well, mission accomplished huh?

Rozu: I guess... although I do hate the stains...

Riku: Part of the job as a soldier, we knew what we were getting into when we put these uniforms on.

Rozu: True, doesn't mean it's any less inconvenient, huh Sasha?

Rozu turned her head to a redhead, she had short hair similar to Rozu's at the time before Rozu grew it out, she turned to Rozu for a second before nodding.

Sasha: Yeah, I didn't expect so many enemies! Amai!

A girl flinched slightly, she was shorter than the rest of the group, had short black hair and violet eyes, one of the eyes was covered by hair however.

Amai: Yes?

Sasha: Did you know how many enemies there would be?

Amai looked up slightly and out her finger to her chin.

Amai: Well... I thought there might be a chance of this many, I did do my research as usual.

Sasha: And you didn't think to warn us!?

Amai giggled at Sasha's yelling at her.

Amai: I told Riku and Rozu.

Sasha gasped.

Sasha: You forgot about me!? How could you!?

Amai: Sorry, you weren't there, and I haven't known you for that long.

Sasha: We've been working together for two years!

Amai: Really? I only remember you from a few weeks a-

Riku: Okay Amai, that's enough.

Sasha: Huh?

Sasha got a closer look at Amai and saw she was barely holding in laughter and Riku was smirking slightly, she tilted her head as she slowly connected the dots.

Sasha: YOU WERE MESSING WITH ME!?

Amai burst into laughter as Rozu giggled and Riku smirked, Sasha puffed out her cheeks and stomped her left foot.

Amai: Of course I was messing with you! I couldn't forget you, or anyone else after everything we've done together!

Sasha: WHY!?

Amai: I'm sorry! I just couldn't help myself!

Amai had finally stopped laughing, (albeit still giggling) and smiled at her friend.

Amai: I don't forget friends, remember that! Okay?

Rozu: Hah! I see what you did there!

Riku: Pretty sure that was unintentional...

Rozu: Still funny!

Riku chuckled at Rozu and smiled slightly.

Riku: Rozu, let's report back to Rida.

Rozu nodded happily.

Riku: We'll meet up later.

Rozu: Bye! 

Riku and Rozu walked off as the two watched them.

Sasha: *Happy Sigh* They make such a cute couple!

Amai nodded happily.

Amai: When do you think they'll get together?

???: Twenty bucks says the end of the year.

Amai and Sasha both turned around to see a man smirking at them.

Amai: Oh, hey Gisei.

Gisei nonchalantly waved his hand.

Gisei: As I said, twenty bucks says that they'll get together before the end of the year.

Amai thought for a minute before smirking slightly.

Amai: Twenty bucks, for each person who won the bet, and some candy from the losers.

Gisei's smirk grew.

Gisei: Deal.

Amai shook his hand, Gisei turned to Sasha, who after a few seconds smiled.

Sasha: Put me down for Team Couple!

Sasha turned to see another soldier approach.

Amai: You want in on the bet? I know you heard Teiko!

They watched the light-blue haired man walk up to them smirking.

Teiko: No way they could manage to gain the courage, put me with Amai.

Amai and Teiko fist bumped.

Amai: We're gonna get forty bucks and candy by the end of the year, the money's cool, but candy! That's what I care about!

Teiko: More, I'm gonna get the others to join, be back in a second.

Teiko walked off to get some more soldiers while Sasha looked at Amai and Gisei.

Amai: I wonder what they're doing right now.

======Meanwhile======

Riku and Rozu were walking back after reporting to Rida.

Riku: So, wanna get some ice cream?

Rozu clapped her hands and nodded, a large smile forming on her face, making Riku slightly blush.

Riku: All these years and her smile is still cute...

Riku and Rozu had gone and ordered ice cream they had both picked their favorite flavors (Chocolate for Riku and Strawberry for Rozu) and sat down at a table, after a bit of eating Riku started to chuckle.

Rozu: What is it?

Riku: Look in the reflection.

Rozu turned at the glass display to see ice cream all over her mouth causing her to giggle a bit herself.

Riku: And you complain about stains.

Rozu giggled slightly but was suddenly shut up after Riku wiped a bit of ice cream off her cheek with his finger and licked it, slightly blushing.

Riku: Sorry, couldn't stop myself, I'll go get some napkins that would probably be more effective.

Rozu was thankful for him getting napkins so he couldn't see her very bright blush, she sat there paralyzed before everything clicked in her head again, after regaining her composure Riku came back with napkins and handed them to her.

Rozu: Uh... Thanks...

Riku smiled and nodded.

Rozu: Hey by the way, did you hear we're being assigned to teams soon if we want?

Riku: Oh yeah, I heard about that, sounds interesting, but not my thing...

Rozu: Huh? Really?

Riku: I've only ever been on two teams... and I'm not too keen on being on another one...

Rozu: Oh... well, what about partners?

Riku: Partners?

Rozu: Yeah! We're not only going to be assigned to teams, while we do have the option of doing things alone, we're also being given the option of having a partner.

Riku: Do we get to pick?

Rozu nodded.

Rozu: Uh-Huh! If somebody isn't already in a team and/or partnership, they can be requested for partnership, they have a say in the matter too of course, if both people agree to be partners, they are assigned to partner jobs.

Riku: Hm, what are you gonna do?

Rozu: Me? Well... I'm... not too sure yet...

Riku: How about we be partners?

Rozu: Huh?

Riku: Come on! You and I would make a great team!

Rozu had a slight blush on her face once more. (Happens a lot huh?)

Rozu: Well... I guess that would work...

Riku: If you don't want to it's fine...

Rozu: No! No I want to! You're one of the people I trust most in the whole world! I'd love to be partners with you!

Riku smiled slightly.

Riku: Then it's settled yeah?

Rozu: Yeah!

Rozu fist pumped in the air as she said "yeah," getting a few weirded out glances, causing her to sit back down in embarrassment.

Riku: So... um... wanna watch a movie back home?

Rozu nodded and smiled once more. By the time they got there, it was late at nighttime, and they had both passed out midway through the movie. It wasn't until the morning when someone came.

Sasha (Whispering): I wish I had my camera!

Amai (Also Whispering): Shush! We don't wanna wake them up!

They had been staring at the sight in front of them for a little bit now, Riku and Rozu were asleep, leaning on each other for support, Riku's arm was around Rozu's shoulders and Rozu seemed to be hugging Riku.  It took a few seconds before they had finally left. (Thanks to Amai, whom finally convinced Sasha to leave the two alone)

Sasha: I think I've already won the bet.

Amai: Don't count your chickens before they've hatched...

Rozu and Riku stayed that way for a few more hours, asleep, against each other, smiling.

======Much Much Later======

Riku and Rozu are inside the docks of a ship, a ship that would take them to their Hunter Exam.

Rozu: So what do we say if they ask why we wanna be hunters? A few people are bound to ask...

Riku: Simple, just say we're looking for my brother's friends, it's not a lie.

Rozu: True, seems like that'll work... speaking of which, do you even know the names of the people we're looking for?

Riku: I think one of the people's names is... Ling? Ping? No, Ging! That's it! And the other one's name is Kite, I remember him, he was with me and my brother when looking for Ging for a bit...

Rozu: Alright then, at least we know their names...

They smiled as they waited, both of them sitting on one of the bunkbed's lower bunks.

Rozu: Hey Riku, do you ever think our friends back at Starset think about us...?

Riku: I like to think they do, yes, why?

Rozu: I don't know, I just don't wanna be forgotten...

Riku smiled and put an arm around her shoulder.

Riku: They won't, don't worry. Hey, after this is all over, let's go get some ice cream again huh?

Rozu blushed and smiled, and hugged him as response.

Rozu: I'd like that...

Riku smiled, blushing very very slightly, both of them didn't want it to end.

Maybe... anyways, here's this! I wanted to do something to show that I still live, so enjoy, a bit short, but still!
