I'm in an update contest with some other peeps like we used to do back in August :D How much you all wanna bet I'll lose as usual?

Also, I don't remember who, but someone told me that Reese should beat someone up with a lollipop. So yeah, that's gonna happen :3

Chapter 9:

Over an hour later, everything had been explained.

"So what you're saying," Jordan began, "is that there's some other world below us that half of us have to go down to, and then the other half just remains up here to continue to try and stop the war? That is, by the way, nearly impossible."

"You left out the part where he said my dad needs to be killed," Reese added, glaring at the old man.

The man nodded ignored her and said, "Yes, that is all correct, according to legend."

"Bullshit," mumbled Xander, leaning against the wall and staring at the floor. He looked up and continued. "If there was a world below us, they would've been able to find us by now. We would've noticed them. If you haven't realized, our islands aren't protected by walls or some kind of invisibility shield."

"Actually, in a way, they are," the man said. "Craftia and Waria are protected by barriers that make them invisible as well as allow things from the world below to pass through them as if they weren't there. When things pass through them, we cannot see or feel them because of the barrier's effects."

Xander rolled his eyes and repeated, "Bull. Shit. Stuff like that just can't happen!"

"Our universe is a place full of mysteries. Anything is possible."

"Uh-huh. And we're just supposed to trust some weird old dude living in a cave on the edge of Craftia?" Reese crossed her arms and exchanged looks with her brother, both unamused. She grabbed Xander and began pulling him out of the cave. "We're outta here. Again."

"Should we...?" Sparky began, glancing back at the two Warriors.

The man sighed, shaking his head. "You'll be able to persuade them sooner or later. It may be best to just leave them be for now." He picked up a mossy stick from the ground and waved it in the air. "In case any of you don't think you should believe me like those two, here..." He pointed the stick at the ground, and flicked his wrist. A white rose sprouted up from the dirt.

"Now go find your two friends," said the man before anyone else spoke, "and tell them that you need them. After that, divide yourselves into two groups, one bigger than the other. The bigger one goes down to the ground world, and the rest remain here to attempt to maintain peace."

"Why are we going down to the ground world, anyway?" asked Kylie.

"I'll explain once you're down there."

He said nothing more, and just faded away, leaving the stick behind.

"Alright, then!" exclaimed Adam. "Let's go!" They reluctantly left the cave and began to search for Reese and Xander.

"Where could they be?" Lizzy asked, clung to Jimmy's arm.

Kay suddenly stopped in front of anyone as they walked through the empty streets of Craftia. "How much you guys wanna bet they're raiding a food stand?"

"What makes you say that?" asked Brice.

"Because they're raiding the food stand right now, see?" She pointed up ahead, where they could barely see Reese and Xander. They ran up to them to see that they actually were doing what Kay said they were doing.

Reese turned around with a lollipop in her mouth. "Sup, losers."

"Where's the guy that's supposed to be running this stand?" Jason asked, looking over the table.

"Dead," she answered casually. She kicked the body that was slumped against the back wall. "Or at least I think he's dead. Hold on..." She checked his pulse. "Yup. I guess you can kill people with lollipops and watermelons."

Xander smirked, holding his lollipop and looking in the direction of Tyler and Sky, who both looked pretty terrified.

Reese walked up to Tyler with another lollipop in her hand. "Oh, look. Now they're scared of candy. Pathetic, pathetic Craftians." She shoved the lollipop into Tyler's mouth and walked away with Xander. "We're going back to Waria now. And don't worry, we won't tell our dad anything about your little rebellion gang or whatever this is supposed to be. At least not yet. Bye!"

"We'll get them to come back tomorrow," Mitch said after they were gone. "I know we shouldn't believe that they won't say anything to their father, but I'm sure they won't for now. Let's just finish out planning."
