Ok spoilers ahead so don't read if you haven't beaten SA2 or watched Sonic X season 2 or just know what happens anyway. Or just read ahead if you don't care about me ruining the story for you.

I finally beat SA2! I went back to Aquatic Mine, Radical Highway and Sky Rail and got the special item upgrades. They really helped in the last stages, especially the Air necklace. Thanks for the help the_kirby_addict!

Cannon's Core was a lot easier with the Air necklace, and I managed to beat it easily. Although it still took a long time to beat.

Biolizard was very hard, by far the hardest boss in the game. But I managed to beat him eventually. The purple energy ball attack is very hard to dodge. I tried about 30 times before finally defeating him!

Then Final hazard was a lot easier than I expected. It took me a few tries to get used to the controls (I didn't realise that A and B allowed you to go faster and up/down). But once I did I beat him easily.

The ending is so sad :(. Even though I know that they brought back Shadow somehow.

Is there anything else to unlock? Or have I beaten the game (I already know that you can unlock Green Hill Zone, but it's too hard to unlock).

Btw I was thinking of trying Sonic Heroes next.
