So, I just found out that Kagero was originally going to have Hinoka's role in FE Fates!

I really wish they hadn't changed it. I prefer Kagero to Hinoka BY FAR. Although I still do like Hinoka, I'd prefer if she was just one of those random characters who join you.

It is thought that Saizo and Orochi were going to be Kagero's retainers as you recruit them at the same time in both games, and Kagero and Orochi are best friends similar to Sakura and Hana.

Also, Hisame and Hinata were going to be twins, but it was changed as Nintendo thought that there would be too many samurais in the game (there's 3 Ninjas though).

This is why Hinoka doesn't really have much of a role in any of the Fates games, while Kagero has quite a big role for a side character. This is also why Kagero looks so much like Mikoto.

Then this got me thinking... Which characters would I like to replace the Dragon vein characters? (Azura, Sakura, Takumi etc.)

So, here's the list!

Azura - Tbh I can't think of a character who could replace Azura, but I don't really like her that much, so I would prefer if they had a replacement. Maybe a dancer character like Olivia? (One of my favorite Awakening characters).

Sakura - Midori or Caeldori, or maybe even Orochi?

Takumi - No replacement

Hinoka - Kagero

Lobster - No replacement

Elise - Sophie, but I wouldn't mind that much

Leo - No replacement

Camilla - I think it would be interesting if Beruka replaced Camilla. So, maybe halfway through the story Beruka learns that she is a Princess of Nohr? That way she could still keep her in-game story.

Xander - Anyone. He is my least favorite character in the game. Although, if I had to choose one, probably Silas.

Thoughts on my ideas?
