(A/N: I'll fast forward the matches)

WWE's pay-per-view for this month was the final stop before the Biggest Party of the Summer. The card for Battleground were as follows:

Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair - Singles match for the NXT Women's Championship

The Bliss Republic (Pierce Johnson and Colby Newfer) (c) vs. The Brotherhood (Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic) - Tag team match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship

The Kabuki Republic (Asuka and Kairi Sane) (c) vs. The Brotherhood IIconics (Peyton Royce and Billie Kay) - Tag team match for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship

The Brotherhood (Travis Sharp, Josh Stevens and Geiz Marufuji) vs. The Bliss Republic (Blood Shepherd, Elleon Astralis and William Tuazon) - Six man tag team match

Randy Orton (c) (with Alexa Bliss) vs. Johnny Gargano (with Candice LeRae) - Singles match for the United States Championship

Bayley (c) vs. Tegan Nox - Singles match for the Raw Women's Championship

Chase Destiny (c) vs. Kevin Owens - Singles match for the WWE Universal Championship

"The One-Winged Angel" Alex Auditore vs. Karrion Kross (with Scarlett) - Singles match

Out of all the members of the Brotherhood none was more nervous than Tegan Nox as she is mentally preparing herself for her Raw Women's title against Bayley. Tegan has kept her title shot alive after lasting 12 rounds of the hellacious gauntlet match.

As for the other matches, the WWE Universe weren't too happy that Charlotte was given yet another title opportunity while for the other title matches, the crowd hope that the members of the Bliss Republic would snap out and go back to the light side. 

As for the main event, it would be a figurative battle of heaven versus hell as Alex goes one on one with Karrion Kross, a match set up by the higher power of the Republic, Bray Wyatt.

The Nightmare's match was up first as she defends her NXT Women's title against the Queen.

Rhea: wish me luck

Kevin: you got this

Io: show her no mercy

Rhea smirked and she left the locker room.

(Rhea vs. Charlotte)

Rhea showed no fear as she shoved Charlotte after the bell rang. The two women Superstars locked up with the black and gold brand's women's title on the line.

(Fast forward)

Charlotte took down the Nightmare with a big boot, and looks to end the match with the Figure 8, but Rhea shoved the Queen out of the way and took her down with a leg sweep. She then locked in her submission hold, the Prism Break; however, Charlotte used her strength to reach for the bottom rope to force a break.

(End of match)

Charlotte countered an attempted Riptide to hit Rhea with a rattling spear. Then the Queen locked in the Figure 8 in the middle of the ring. With the pain overcoming her, Rhea tried to fight it, but eventually succumbed to the pain and tapped out.

Announcer: here is your winner by submission and new NXT Women's Champion, Charlotte Flair!

The crowd booed as the Bliss Republic took a championship away from the Brotherhood. However, Charlotte's celebration was cut short as she was ambushed by the Genius of the Sky. Io put rapid punches to the new NXT Women's Champion. Charlotte managed to escape from Io by rolling out of the ring. The Genius of the Sky is eyeing a title shot against the Queen at SummerSlam.

Io then helped Rhea to her feet and helped her to the locker room.

The Nightmare was disappointed that she lost her title.

Rhea: can't believe I lost

Io: don't worry, I'll get it back; I made a statement

Rhea: do what you must to end her reign

Io: that's a promise

(Pierce and Colby vs. Lee and Dijakovic)

The DemonChild stepped up, but he didn't intimidate the Limitless Keith Lee. The match went back and forth between the two teams. It was on the Brotherhood's side after Double D hit Feast Your Eyes on Colby after the Black Flash took out Keith with a diving 4th Emerald to the outside, but then Dijakovic was taken down by a Case-Closer from Pierce to allow the Republic members to retain the blue strap tag titles.

(Asuka and Kairi vs. Billie and Peyton)

The IIconics hope to get through their friends and snap out of the Fiend's mind control. Peyton and Asuka started the match after the bell rang.

(Fast forward)

Billie and Kairi were the legal women for their team, and the IIconics looked to bring the Women's Tag Titles to the Brotherhood; however, after they hit their team finisher, Billie was sprayed with green mist from Asuka, forcing the match to end in disqualification.

(Travis, Josh and Geiz vs. Shepherd, Elleon and William)

Shepherd, Elleon and William promised Alexa to take care of the two traitors and the new guy, but would soon regret it. The American Nightmare Travis started things off with the Fil-Brit Brawler William.

The six man tag match was all chaos as all of the participants were brawling. The two legal men were Josh and Shepherd. The Sniper and the Duke were trading punches while Travis and Geiz were occupied with Elleon and William.

Shepherd countered an attempted 25th Hour from Josh with a DDT. The WWE Champion attempted for a dirty tactic by removing the turnbuckle. The referee stopped him and fixed the corner.

But as the referee was busy with the turnbuckle, the Scotsman Drew McIntyre came in and ambushed Shepherd with a Claymore. Drew quickly rolled out of the ring and hid from the referee's sight. Josh then crawled on top of Shepherd and the referee counted the pin, giving the win for the Brotherhood and a little revenge for Drew.

(Orton vs. Gargano)

The United States title was on the line as the Viper and co-leader of the Bliss Republic defends against Johnny Wrestling. With Alexa and Candice at ringside, the match looks to be even on both sides, but the Republic leaders have some tricks up their sleeves. Orton and Gargano locked up and the Viper transitioned into a standing headlock.

(End of match)

After Randy went for his signature moveset, the Viper looks to end it with an RKO as he was going to that place, but then Alexa shouted a better idea for him. Orton heard what the Goddess said, and he smirked evilly. The Viper methodically walked to the corner, and the fans saw that the Viper was going for his controversial punt kick. As he launched, Johnny countered with a superkick, fazing the Viper; he then locked in the Gargano Escape, but Orton managed to reach the ropes forcing a break.

Johnny then went to the corner to measure the Viper with the #DIY superkick. As Gargano went for the kick, he was caught in an RKO from outta nowhere by the Viper. Orton went for the pin and retained his title.

(Bayley vs. Tegan)

It was now the Raw Women's title match as Bayley defends against the underdog Tegan Nox. The Shiniest Wizard was now full of confidence and was now ready for her match. She got words of encouragement from Io, Rhea, Kofi and Roman. The Shiniest Wizard took their advice and left for her match.

After the introductions were made, Tegan and Bayley locked up and the crowd were behind the Welsh Superstar.

Bayley was dominating the match, but Tegan always found ways to turn the tables on the Republic lieutenant. She got Bayley in position for the chokeslam, but the ex-Hugger elbowed Tegan's head to get out of the hold. She then took down Tegan with a running dropkick, a moved she adopted from her husband Finn, but it wasn't enough to put the Welsh Superstar away.

(End of match)

Tegan was flat on her back after Bayley took her down with the Rose Plant, but she wasn't done yet. Bayley went to the top turnbuckle for the Macho Man Elbow Drop. As she jumped, Bayley was shocked as she was caught by Tegan's hand on her throat. Tegan sat up liked Kane and delivered the chokeslam.

She then measured Bayley and ended the Republic member with a fierce Shiniest Wizard. She pinned Bayley and it was over.

Announcer: here is your winner and new Raw Women's Champion, Tegan Nox!

The crowd popped out their seats as the referee gave Tegan the red brand women's title. The Shiniest Wizard cried happy tears as she raised the title.

(Chase vs Kevin)

The Limit Breaker defends his Universal title against a former Universal Champion in KO. After entrances and announcements were made, the match started.

Owens and Chase traded punches and kicks; then Owens took him down with a knee.

(Fast forward)

Owens and Chase were on the outside and KO landed the apron powerbomb on the Universal Champion. He rolled Chase in the ring for the pin, but only good enough for two. Kevin then threw Chase to the ropes for a pop up powerbomb, but the Universal Champion got out of the way and superkicked Owens before hitting the DDT. As he went for the pin, Kevin kicked out at two.

(End of match)

After Kevin hit Chase with a Stunner, Chase wisely rolled out of the ring and since he has the champion's advantage he can still keep his title even he loses the match by count out, but Kevin didn't want to end it like that, so he got out and threw Chase in the ring. However, Chase was playing possum, and got Kevin with an uppercut. He then finished off KO with the Limit Breaker to retain his title.

(Alex vs. Karrion)

It was the main event as the angel goes to war against the devil as Alex takes on the dangerous and apocalyptic Karrion Kross. Alex was getting ready until he heard Tegan coming in.

Alex: hey champ

Tegan: are you ready for Karrion?

Alex: never faced someone like him before

Tegan: just be careful

Alex: don't worry about me

The Brotherhood leader left for his celestial battle with the devil.

(In the ring)

Karrion made his entrance while Scarlett lip synced his entrance theme. The Devil of NXT had a evil and sadistic smile on his face while Scarlett talked some strategies for him to use in the match. Then Alex made his entrance as he descended from the rafters. He walked down the ring not taking his eyes of Karrion. He got in the ring and stared down at Kross. Then the match started and the two celestial entities locked up.

(Fast forward)

Alex went for the AKO, but Karrion countered it to hit the Doomsday Saito, but the impact did not register and Alex got back to his feet much to the shock of Scarlett, but Karrion can only smirk. Kross went for another Doomsday Saito, but Alex elbowed him and hits the AKO, but it didn't keep Karrion down as he kicked out at two and a half.

However, Karrion played possum as he got Alex and locked in the Kross Jacket submission, but Alex used his leg strength to back up Kross to the turnbuckle to break out of the hold. The One Winged Angel connected rapid punches to Kross' head.

(End of match)

After kicking out of a third Doomsday Saito, Alex still kept his fighting spirit alive; Kross was now frustrated as he can't put the angel away. As he picked up Alex, Karrion fell into the One Winged Angel's trap as Alex was playing possum and hits Kross with another AKO. Alex knew it wasn't enough, so he had a last resort; he went to the corner and waited for Karrion to get up. As Kross was on his knees, Alex hit him with the move that took him out back at Takeover a few months back, the punt kick of his mentor. Alex went for the pin and it was over; the angel has defeated the devil.

However, Alex's celebration was cut short as the lights went out; then a few seconds later, the lights came back on and coming out of the ring was his opponent for SummerSlam, the Fiend.

Alex stared daggers at Bray before the Republic's higher power locked in the Mandible Claw, but Alex got out of it and landed punches on Wyatt. The Fiend backed up and escaped through the ring as the lights flickered. Then it came back on, and the Fiend disappeared. As Alex went to the hole where Bray came out, he pulled out a piece of what looks like Bray's dreadlocks. With SummerSlam under three weeks, Alex turns his focus on ending the Fiend's tyrannical mind game over his second family.
