Chapter 3

"Babies are little Angels...." - Lailah Akita (and Everyone In The World)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last Time in the Previous Chapter of Blinded....
Jack started to drive towards a field he knew Yusei liked to relax in sometimes, and hoped he was there. He started to think more, on what happened to him? What made him so ignorant... and so arrogant?..... How could he not see that he was hurting his brothers more than helping than?... As he came closer to the field, a familiar red duel runner could be seen. Jack became hopeful and he parked next to it. He started to search the field, seeing if Yusei was laying somewhere in the field, but that's when...
He heard the cries of a baby....
And now on with the story~
-----------------------------------
'A baby?...' Jack asked himself in his head, he listened to see if there was any signs of an adult nearby as he walked towards the sound. He didn't hear an adult at all.... and he started to run towards the cries of the child. He wasn't sure what made him so panicked and worried about the child, but he knew he needed to help it. The cries were coming from the direction of a lone tree, a black oak tree, that stood in the middle of the large field. Jack continued to run, continuing to follow the cries of the child, and he wondered, 'Who would leave a baby out here in the middle of nowhere?! It could die on it's own!!' As he was getting closer to the tree, he found a red helmet not too far from the tree, he continued to follow the cries of the child though. He knew Yusei was around here, but he couldn't leave a baby out here on it's own. He slowed down when he got to the tree, and looked at the other side from where he was standing. His eyes widened when he saw Yusei's clothes in a pile, and a small Raven haired baby laying on top of them. The small child was still too young to open his eyes, but he was fussing and crying, he must be afraid, cold, and probably hungry.
'YUSEI'S A BABY?!?' Jack started to panic a bit, wondering if that shooting star that he wished on had some kind of magic. He wondered how he would explain to Crow, how he would explain to everyone?! He started pacing, trying to think of what to do, until he heard Yusei cough and sneeze. It was then he realized that what he was gonna say wasn't important right now, what was important was taking care of Yusei, and helping him turn back to normal. He took a deep breath and then knelt next to the little child. He picked up Yusei as carefully and gently as he possible could, being sure to support his head. He felt how cold Yusei was, and picked up Yusei's jacket and wrapping it around him, hoping to warm him up a bit. Jack held the his younger brother closer, though he didn't know a lot about babies, he knew enough to help Yusei at the moment. He gently and slowly rocked him as he held him close, being sure not to rock him to fast or roughly, "Shhhhhh... it's alright... your safe..." Jack spoke softly to the little one, trying to soothe the small child. The little one continued to wail though, small little tears falling down it's face. Jack carefully took his free hand, and gently wiped them away with his thumb. He thought for a bit on what to do, and how to calm the little one down. He tried to Remember what Martha did for them when they were scared or sad... he remembered that one night....
FLASHBACK~
Jack started to slowly wake up as he heard a soft crying, when the lighting struck across the sky, a yelp could be heard before the crying continued. He slowly got up and looked towards Yusei's bed, to see him sitting up, the blanket wrapped around him tightly. He went over and sat next to him, and wrapped his arms around him in a hug, trying to calm him down, "Shhh... Yusei... it's alright... it's just a bit of lightning... it won't hurt you..." Jack soothed, trying to calm his younger adoptive brother down, but another flash of lightning struck across the sky, and Yusei clung to Jack as he yelped again, and soon, Martha came in, Yusei, Crow, and Jack's adoptive mother. She came in and gently sat next to them, and pulled them both into her arms, "Shhh... it's alright.... the lightning can't get you in here...." Yusei sniffled and looked up at her, "B-But... b-but it's scary...." he yelped out of fear and clung to her as another bolt of lightning cracks across the sky, and soon, another pair of arms was wrapped around them the best they could, it was Crow, Jack's youngest adoptive brother. she gently wrapped an arm around Crow and held him closer too, "Shhh... it's alright..." Yusei and Crow continued to shake, yelping even at the quietest bit of thunder. Martha thought for a moment, then held all three closer, carefully laying down on the twin sized bed, it was then that she started to softly sing to them.
FLASHBACK END~
Jack took a deep breath, and held his baby brother closer to him, so the little one could hear his heartbeat, he started to softly sing for the small child, in a voice soft and gentle...
Baby mine.... don't you cry...
Baby mine.... dry your eyes...
Rest your head, close to my heart,
Never to part, baby of mine...
Yusei slowly starting to calm down, the cries turning into soft fussing noises. Jack continued to sing though, wanting to fully calm him down, and for him not to cry.... He didn't want to see Yusei cry....
Little one... when you play...
Pay no heed what they say...
Let your eyes sparkle and shine...
Never a tear, baby of mine...
If they knew all about you...
They'd end up loving you, too...
All those same people who scold you...
What they'd give just for the right to hold you...
When Jack got to that part of the song, he realized how much he truly cared for his brothers, but how much he fought with them, more than other people he cares about...
From your hair down to your toes....
You're not much, goodness knows...
But, you're so precious to me...
Sweet as can be, baby of mine...
Jack smiled softly at the his now sleeping little brother in his arms, but inside, he wondered why he got so mad at him and wished for this to happen... why he wished for his little brother would become a baby again.... why he had to be so blinded by his own arrogance...
why he lost sight of what is important....
That family... is the most important thing in the world...
