Chapter 6

I glanced at Lucy worriedly as we sat across from Jason who hadn't said a word since Lucy finished explaining everything.

I leaned over to Lucy "Is he ok?" I whispered.

"I honestly don't know. I'm a little worried." She whispered back.

"I can hear you both you know." Jason stated, rolling his eyes.

"Oh." We said in unison, straightening up.

"I need to talk to him." Jason said quickly, getting up from his desk, walking towards the door.

"Jason!" Lucy said quickly before he left the room. "Take some bandages, he cut his hand, and I doubt he did anything for it."

"Actually.." He said, obviously thinking something over. "Alice, you go instead." He said, walking back to his desk and sitting.

"Are you serious?" I asking with a laugh.

"Did you not hear a thing Lucy just told you?" I said, shocked at his suggestion.

"I did, and if he's in that kind of mood I'll only make it worse. You know he's your mate, even if he doesn't know it yet he's not going to hurt you. You can help him. You're probably the only one who can." He stated, rummaging through his desk until he pulled out a first aid kit.

"Take this." He said, handing it over. "Just bandage his hand up. I have a plan. We'll take it one day at a time, but I want you being the only person he interacts with. You'll take him his food, three times a day, and if I need to inform him of any pack business, you'll tell him. Eventually he'll realize you're his mate. He may have already and is just being stubborn, I don't know, but I think this could work.

I stared at the small box in my hand, thinking his plan over in my head. This could work.

I gave them a small smile before heading out of the room and down the hall. My heart raced the closer I came to his door, but I took a deep breath, knowing I had to do this.

I knocked softly before opening the door, knowing he wouldn't answer it. He sat in the same spot as he was hours ago when me and Lucy had been here.

His head snapped up, looking in my direction. "What are you doing here?" He asked, sounding angry.

"You're hand.." I said quietly. "I have some, uh, some bandages."

"I don't need anything, I'm fine." He said turning away.

I walked towards him slowly, sitting myself next to him on the edge of his bed. He looked away from me, still gripping his hand in his other.

I placed my hand on his softly, ignoring the tingles, trying to get a look at the cut.

He quickly pulled his hand away from me and I sighed.

"It'll just take a second." I said softly, placing my hand on his again.

He sighed, uncovering his hand and letting my pull it towards me. I held his hand in my left, opening the box with my right, taking out some bandages, and carefully wrapping them around the deep cut. It would heal soon, but it was bleeding pretty bad right now.

"You didn't finish your food." I stated after glancing to his untouched plate.

"I didn't want it." He replied sharply, looking away again.

"Gotta eat." I said, securing the bandage in place.

"I don't have to do anything I don't want to." He stated confidently.

"Well I'm not leaving here until you eat some of it." I said, crossing my arms across my chest defiantly.

His face grew angry, "I'm not a child, and who are you to try and make me do something, I don't even know you." He said, standing from the bed, walking across the room.

"I know you know who I am." I stated.

"What are you talking about?" He huffed, annoyed with me.

"Quit playing games" I said walking up to him, "I know you feel it." I said, placing my hand on his chest, causing tingles to shoot up my arm.

He pushed my arm away quickly, turning his back to me. "I don't know what you're talking about. I want you to leave." He stated angrily.

"But I'm your"

"No. No you're not. And even if you were I wouldn't want you." He shouted hatefully.

I blinked my eyes rapidly, trying to clear my vision blurred by tears. I felt as if he had ripped my heart from my chest, but I refused to let it show in my voice as I spoke.

"Be as hateful as you want." I said wiping my eyes. "But I'm not leaving until you eat."

He growled, slamming his fist into the wall. The loud noise made me jump, but I stayed still, my feet glued to the floor, unwavering.

He walked angrily to his desk, picking the plate up and sitting himself in the chair, his back facing me. I walked to the edge of the bed, sitting where I could see him, to make sure he was eating.

He picked at the food, taking a few bites every once in a while.

Eventually he shoved the empty plate towards me, staring straight ahead, not speaking. I gently took the plate from his hands, walking towards the door.

"I really don't like you." He said, making another cut at me.

"I guess you're just going to have to get over that." I said quietly. "Because I'm not going anywhere."

I left the room, shutting the door softly behind me before heading back down the hall.
